Chapter 902: Two Effects
As for the VR mode changes, they were quite significant.
The control scheme didn’t matter much, since it was all operated by consciousness. The key issue was in the visual presentation.
One of the major highlights of the original *A Way Out* was its cinematic shot composition and the split-screen cooperative gameplay. If it were to be made into a VR mode, the shot composition was easy enough to handle, but the split screen was a problem.
If the screen were split in VR mode, players would probably develop a mental split. Staring at the left or right half for a long time would be agonizing. After all, the PC and Switch experiences were different. Comparatively speaking, I’m not very familiar with the Switch, let me check... Oh, this game can be played using a gaming pod and output two different visual signals. That way, I can play with someone else, output the Switch’s visual signal, while he outputs the gaming pod’s signal. Then you can watch whichever version you prefer, alright?”
“Hmm... who should I find to play with?”
The audience had already started calling out names.
“Find Lin Xue!”
“No, no, no. This game is more immersive and fun with two guys playing together. Find Little Fatty!”
“Little Fatty’s aim is terrible, he only shouts ‘666.’ Wouldn’t he drag Old P down?”
“This is a co-op game, not an FPS! Your concern is kind of random!”
The players were all recommending their favorite streamers, wanting to see them play with Old P.
Old P agonized for a few minutes and said, “Alright, stop spamming. I’ve thought of someone, and you’ll definitely be satisfied.”
Old P found Qin An on his friends list: “Come on, buy *A Way Out* and let’s play together!”
The barrage instantly exploded.
“Holy crap, Master Qin?!”
“Master Qin doesn’t play any games besides PUBG. Can you even get him to come?”
“Doubtful. After all, Master Qin is a laid-back streamer. Every time the barrage spams him to play other games, he just pretends to be blind and ignores it, lol.”
“Anyone else definitely couldn’t get him, but if Old P steps in, there’s hope. Those two are good buddies.”
“Oh man, I’m suddenly kind of hyped to see Master Qin play another game!”
“But... that would mean Old P is the one dragging Master Qin down, lol.”
“Nonsense, it’s clearly just lowering the game’s difficulty. They’ll both carry each other, taking turns...”
The players were all a bit excited. Although Old P and Qin An were the two pillars of the laid-back PUBG streaming scene and often duo-queued in the god-tier servers, seeing Qin An play other games was rare.
Old P would usually play new games in the evening upon audience request, and he interacted with the barrage quite a bit. But Qin An’s style was more laid-back. Aside from guaranteeing his streaming hours, he was pretty casual about everything else. He wasn’t very interested in other games, and his favorite thing was going to the god-tier servers to engage in shameless play with the AI.
If they could really see Old P and Qin An playing *A Way Out* together today, that would be pretty fun, right?
Five minutes later.
Old P said, “Alright, done! Qin An agreed. Wait a moment, he just went to download the game. I’ll take this chance to buy it myself.”
After Old P said that, the barrage went wild.
“Holy crap, he actually agreed! As expected, Old P’s reputation carries weight!”
“Goodbye, I’m going to watch Qin An’s stream over there, lol.”
“Qin An is using VR, and Old P is using the Switch, right? I want to watch both. I’ll just open two browser tabs!”
