Chapter 422: A Sea of People

On the day of the exhibition.

This year's YouPlay exhibition was still packed with people. Many players from Shanghai had come, along with those who had traveled specifically from other cities, all just to take a look. There seemed to be hardly any showgirls—just a bunch of computers and VR gaming pods.

"Huh? But there are way fewer showgirls this time."

Many players were asking, what was everyone crowding for?

These players' questions were soon answered.

Chen Mo stepped onto the stage, took the microphone, and said, "Hello, everyone."

The players in the front row waved at Chen Mo, clearly showing that he still held considerable personal charisma in their eyes.

"Oh, finally seeing the real Chen Mo!"

"When are you giving out autographs?"

"Come on, tell us if there's a new game?"

"Can we play the new hero in *League of Legends* yet?"

There were greetings, requests for autographs, and all sorts of questions. The crowd was buzzing with chatter, lively and chaotic.

Chen Mo gestured for everyone to quiet down. "Everyone, please settle down and listen to me. Today, there are two main important events. The first is announcing the new hero and new version of *League of Legends*. The second is unveiling a brand-new VR game. Additionally, in the PC experience zone and VR experience zone, we'll have trial plays for *League of Legends* and the new game."

"Oh, and one more thing. The five members of the NRG team are also here today. There will be an exhibition match later, so you can look forward to that."

"Don't rush, everyone. Everyone will have a chance to try things out. Please be courteous, queue up voluntarily, and follow the staff's instructions. For those who don't have a spot yet, don't worry—the big screen will be live-streaming all the related activities. So if you can't get in line, just watch the big screen."

"Alright, please bear with me for a moment. Let's watch a promotional video."

With that, Chen Mo stepped off the stage.

The players, who had just calmed down, immediately erupted into an uproar again. Chen Mo's words had dropped several bombshells—there was no way they wouldn't explode!

*League of Legends* had a new version and a new hero to try out.

The NRG team would be at the venue for an exhibition match.

And a brand-new VR game!

How could this be anything less than huge?

Many players couldn't wait and started pushing forward. Fortunately, the staff worked hard to maintain order, and most players were fairly well-behaved, so the situation didn't spiral out of control.

The players at the very back could only sigh as they looked at the dense crowd in front of them. There was no way to squeeze in!

They had no choice but to watch the big screen.

As the big screen began playing a CG, the crowd quieted down, and everyone looked up.

In a quiet forest, three soldiers were moving forward.

They seemed to hear something and looked around, trying to locate the enemy. Above them, a dark figure was observing their position through the gaps in the leaves.

A flash of cold light streaked by, and the screen showed a close-up of a ninja mask. His eyes glowed red, and then the dark figure leaped down from the tree!

"Shwoosh!"

A flash of cold light flew past, and a massive shuriken pinned one soldier to a tree.

A moment later, the other two soldiers reacted and saw the true face of their assailant.

A ninja wearing an iron mask revealed the twin blades on his arms.

The two soldiers roared and charged at the ninja, but he cut through their swords with ease, then dissolved into the shadows, cleanly finishing off both enemies.

The original promotional video for *Zed: Shadow of the Swift* had a watercolor-style animation that was relatively simple. This time, Chen Mo had fully inherited the storyboard from the previous promotional video but remade it into a high-definition version.

This video excited the players immensely. Clearly, everyone could see that this was a hero who could control shadows, and his design was different from the traditional Japanese ninja, incorporating many changes and innovations.

The video didn't end there. It seamlessly transitioned into in-game footage, and in the bottom right corner of the screen, the new hero's name appeared: The Master of Shadows—Zed.
