Chapter 314: The Tryndamere That Doesn't Crit

Chen Mo shook his head. "No, you should counter-gank mid and bot more."

"Oh." Jia Peng had originally planned to gank the Malphite with Chen Mo a few more times to fatten up Chen Mo's Tryndamere, but he had no idea that Chen Mo couldn't take any kills this game.

The Master Yi, who had been heading top, turned back to the bottom jungle.

In the early game, neither Amumu nor Master Yi were particularly good at ganking, so they both focused on farming. Jia Peng was timid and didn't dare to invade the enemy jungle recklessly, so they played until both mid-laners reached level six.

The moment Karthus hit level six, Amumu appeared in the bot lane, clearly planning to target Vayne.

"Bot lane, be careful! Fall back to the tower!" Jia Peng was a bit panicked. His Master Yi and Amumu didn't have their ultimates yet, so a fight would be a fifty-fifty. But the enemy Karthus could coordinate with a global ultimate, putting their team at a disadvantage.

It was obvious the enemy team was a four-man or five-man premade, with excellent communication and perfect timing.

Chen Mo quickly glanced at the bot lane situation. It wasn't too bad; the bot duo could probably use their summoner spells to avoid any deaths.

But just then, a beam of light suddenly appeared on Malphite. He was teleporting!

"What the hell! Even underage randoms know how to use Teleport?!"

Chen Mo was stunned too. Was this really an underage random? Was the system messing with him under the "Cursed by Bad Luck" state?

Chen Mo charged at Malphite and slashed him a few times, but Tryndamere had no interrupt skill, so he could only watch helplessly as Malphite teleported away.

Chen Mo decided not to teleport. Based on his judgment, even if Malphite went bot, he'd at most help his team get one extra kill while losing a ton of minion waves. Plus, although Tryndamere had his ultimate, his team-fighting capability was far inferior to Malphite's. Going down there wouldn't guarantee a win.

After all, Chen Mo was holding a Tryndamere that couldn't crit.

"Malphite teleported. Fall back under the tower."

As he spoke, Chen Mo pushed the enemy top lane outer tower with his minions.

Tryndamere was a relatively fast split-pusher and tower-taker. By the time the bot lane fight ended, he had already damaged the top tower significantly.

But the bot lane fight was brutal, ending in a one-for-two trade. Chang Xiuya's Lulu and Jia Peng's Master Yi died, while the enemy Malphite died under the tower.

Now came the enemy's power spike. Once Amumu and Sona also hit level six, the enemy's AoE control comp became utterly unreasonable in team fights. Chen Mo's team could only retreat continuously, and their outer towers were in jeopardy.

Soon, after getting caught in the jungle a few times, the kill score became 2-8 in favor of the enemy.

Random Annie: "Surrender."

Jia Peng scratched his head. "Boss, how do we play this?!"

Chen Mo's Tryndamere was still farming quietly. But thanks to his excellent map awareness and the enemy's focus on his teammates, Chen Mo hadn't died yet. He was almost done building Statikk Shiv.

After a while, Chen Mo typed in the game chat: "Hold on. I'll split push."

Everyone: "..."

The onlookers behind him could barely hold back their laughter. Chen Mo, oh Chen Mo, even you have your day?

Obviously, *League of Legends* wasn't a game where one person could carry the whole team. Chen Mo might have insane reaction time and APM, but so what? With the enemy's team-fight comp, no matter how skilled you were, could you really 1v5?

Seeing the disbelief on Jia Peng's face, Chen Mo said seriously, "I mean it. Listen to me, and we can win."

Jia Peng coughed twice. "Alright, boss. Give us orders. What should we do?"

Chen Mo quickly pinged on the map. "The enemy should be around here right now. You can move a bit closer to ward, but don't give them a chance to engage. Just huddle under the tower and defend."

After finishing Statikk Shiv, Chen Mo's Tryndamere headed straight for the top lane. Malphite had been sticking with his team the whole time, picking up a few assists, but his gold income was far behind Tryndamere's. Chen Mo quickly sent him back to base.

Chen Mo ignored him and took the top outer tower.

Jia Peng suddenly said urgently, "Boss, the map is dark. Are they coming for you?"

Chen Mo glanced at the minimap. It was pitch black. The chances of them coming for him were high, but he didn't know how many.

Chen Mo pinged the enemy's blue buff jungle. "Go here and gank. Take the bot tower while you're at it."

Sure enough, as Chen Mo finished destroying the top tower and was about to keep pushing, Amumu and Malphite arrived. Malphite immediately used his ultimate, but Tryndamere perfectly dodged it with his E.

Malphite was stunned for a moment, then after a half-second pause, he threw out his Q. At the same time, Amumu extended a bandage, trying to snare Tryndamere.

But Tryndamere made a perfect S-shaped zigzag dodge, and the bandage missed too.

Amumu, having failed to snare Tryndamere, was also dumbfounded. He stood there crying a river of tears.

Tryndamere dove into the red buff jungle. But with Malphite's slow effect on him, he wasn't moving fast. He hadn't gone far when Karthus showed up too!

Three people chasing Tryndamere—it should have been a guaranteed kill. But Chen Mo's movement was incredibly slick. Even with the slow debuff, none of the skillshots could land on him.

What's more, this Tryndamere kept kiting and auto-attacking whenever he could. Even though not a single crit landed, and his attacks on Malphite and Amumu felt like mosquito bites, the constant harassment was already infuriating.

Amumu was getting anxious. His ultimate had three seconds left on cooldown, and he was ready to use it. But the moment his ultimate went off, Tryndamere suddenly used his E to jump over the wall!

Although Tryndamere was still stunned by Amumu's ultimate after crossing the wall, Karthus and Malphite couldn't follow up with their own ultimates in time.

The spectators behind Chen Mo gasped. "Holy crap! Boss, your luck is insane! Amumu ulted right as you jumped the wall?"

Chen Mo was cursing internally. *And you call this luck? Have you seen my Tryndamere with full Fury and Statikk Shiv, a 65% crit chance, land a single crit?*

If it weren't for me keeping track of Amumu's ultimate cooldown, I'd be dead by now.

On the other side, Chen Mo's four teammates charged into the enemy's blue buff jungle, caught the enemy bot duo, and successfully pulled off a 0-for-2 trade, also taking the bot tower in the process.

Jia Peng was destroying the tower while checking on Chen Mo. "Boss, how is it? Can you get away?"

Chen Mo didn't answer. Tryndamere's health was critically low. At the last possible moment, he activated his ultimate, Undying Rage, entering his five-second "True Man" state.

He fought while retreating, slashing enemies to trigger his bad luck events while moving toward the Baron pit.

"Three, two, one!"

In the final second of his ultimate, Chen Mo used his E to jump over the wall into the Baron pit. Then, with a stylish twist, he dodged Amumu's bandage and Karthus's Q, preparing to escape.

Jia Peng: "Holy crap! Boss, you're amazing!"

But before he could finish, a brilliant red line appeared above everyone's heads.

Karthus's ultimate, Requiem!

Jia Peng: "...Sorry, boss. I accidentally jinxed you."

Chen Mo was already looking at the items in the shop. Even if he used his Q to heal, he was as good as dead, so he gave up struggling.

Still, a low-health Tryndamere baiting out Karthus's ultimate was a pretty good trade. Plus, it completed one-eighth of his strategic death count.

Chen Mo glanced at his wristband. Thank goodness, he had already triggered 19 bad luck events.
