Chapter 278: Five Versus One, All Wiped Out
Chen Mo was very disappointed. There wasn’t even a “first blood” sound effect. It just didn’t feel right.

After the first wave of minions entered the tower, Chen Mo used his level 1 Dark Ranger to last-hit all six minions, summoning six skeletons.
At this point, both of them were still level 1. The Blood Mage wanted to throw another Flame Strike to chip away at Chen Mo’s health. But as soon as he moved forward, Chen Mo immediately commanded the six little skeletons to circle around and trap him, then proceeded to beat him down.

Chen Mo ignored him. During the Blood Mage’s respawn time, he activated Dark Arrows to last-hit all the enemy minions, then deactivated Dark Arrows to deny all his own minions. He also chipped away at the tower’s health and sent three skeletons to scout the map.
This kind of hero, capable of controlling multiple units simultaneously, was perfect for someone with Chen Mo’s lightning-fast reflexes.

Chen Mo could use the Dark Ranger and the skeletons to last-hit together, taking out all enemy and friendly minions, keeping the Blood Mage at level 1 the entire time.
Moreover, once Chen Mo’s skeletons reached the tower, they would find ways to surround the Blood Mage and chip away at his health. With the skeletons drawing the tower’s aggro, the Dark Ranger completely ignored the tower, relentlessly attacking the Blood Mage until he was dead.
At first, the Blood Mage could still use Flame Strike to burn a couple of skeletons. But once the Dark Ranger hit level 3 and learned Silence, the Blood Mage couldn’t do anything. He’d get surrounded, silenced, and killed instantly.
The Blood Mage’s teammates were at their wit’s end.
Death Knight: “Damn, you got killed under the tower? Are you disabled? Born with one less hand than everyone else? Get out of mid, I’ll defend the tower!”
The Blood Mage was furious but couldn’t argue. After all, he was doing terribly. The Dark Ranger was already level 4 while he was still level 1. If he started trash-talking his teammates now, it would be a clear sign he didn’t want to play anymore.
The Blood Mage went to the bottom lane. He had just safely farmed two waves when the system announcement came again: “Dark Ranger has slain Death Knight!”
Everyone: “…”
Death Knight: “Damn it, the Blood Mage fed the Dark Ranger too much. This is unplayable!”
Ten minutes into the game, Chen Mo’s Dark Ranger had already secured four kills and reached level 8.
At this point, the highest-level enemy hero was the Pandaren Brewmaster at level 6, and the lowest was the Blood Mage at level 3.
The Dark Ranger’s equipment consisted of the [Dark Bone Bow] and [Storm Horn], two items that should have been obtained in the mid-game but were acquired early.
And now, she was surrounded by over a dozen skeletons and two neutral creeps, practically a small army. With the skeletons drawing the tower’s damage, the Dark Ranger could dive and kill any hero without issue.

Zou Zhuo panicked. Even if he wanted to help, it was too late. If the Dark Ranger died, she would give the enemy a huge amount of experience and bonus gold. That would be a massive loss!

System Announcement: “Dark Ranger has slain Blood Mage!”
System Announcement: “Dark Ranger has slain Death Knight!”
System Announcement: “Dark Ranger has slain Windrunner!”
System Announcement: “Dark Ranger has slain Pandaren Brewmaster!”
System Announcement: “Dark Ranger has slain Alchemist!”
The screen was flooded!
Everyone: “…”
Holy crap, are you trying to defy the heavens?
On the map, the Dark Ranger’s skeletons were almost all dead. The two charmed neutral creeps were also gone. The Dark Ranger had less than one-fifth of her health remaining.
But the enemy team had been wiped out.
Chen Mo muttered in dissatisfaction, “No pentakill, no ace. How boring.”
Zou Zhuo was completely stunned. How did that happen? Five against one, and they all got wiped?
