Chapter 243: The Tour

Lin Xue suddenly had a thought: "Hey, right! I should be making windows!"

She ran back out of the house, dug a few holes in the outer walls, and filled them all with glass.

Then she went to the front and installed a door on the house.

But this didn't make the house look any better; instead, it made it look even more like a tomb.

Lin Xue was completely unfazed. She replaced more wooden planks on the house with glass, and the whole place grew brighter and brighter.

"Ta-da! So, how does it look now? Isn't it much better? What do you all think about me naming this house 'Lin Xue's Glass Castle'?"

"Hey, it's a glass castle, not a glass tomb! If you guys keep spamming 'tomb,' I'm going to ask the admin to mute you!"

Lin Xue was furious. Every single one of these commenters was a master builder. One complained the house was ugly, another said she was stupid. But the problem was, this building mode was really hard!

Sure, the controls were simple, but the key issue was the lack of blueprints. Relying solely on imagining the structure in your head and then stacking these blocks together was pretty troublesome. It wasn't nearly as easy as she had thought.

Still, Lin Xue wasn't discouraged. Instead, she found it quite interesting. Just building this house alone could keep her entertained for at least a month!

While Lin Xue was playing, a voice suddenly came from behind her: "Are you... building a tomb?"

Lin Xue was startled. She turned around and saw a little figure with wings, just like hers, floating in the air, watching her bustle about.

Why did that voice sound so familiar?

Lin Xue was stunned for a moment before she realized: "Chen Mo?"

Chen Mo said, "Of course it's me. Who else could just waltz into your single-player mode?"

Lin Xue suddenly understood: "Right, this is single-player mode! How did you get in! Did you use developer privileges?"

Chen Mo said, "Calm down. I just came to see how you're doing, see if you need any guidance. But it looks like you're making decent progress. You've managed to make a tomb look pretty authentic pretty quickly. Are you planning to film a tomb-raiding epic?"

Lin Xue screamed in frustration: "Aaaah! That's my house!"

Chen Mo flew a circle around the house: "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Not bad, not bad. Keep it up. Seriously, though, aren't you going to plant a few trees on top, or maybe put up a gravestone out front?"

Lin Xue was on the verge of a breakdown: "Shut up! Oh, and by the way, I'm giving you a bad review! Your promotional video is a complete scam!"

Chen Mo asked, "Why's that?"

Lin Xue said with righteous indignation: "You're asking why! Let me ask you, where's the Forbidden City? Where's the Old Summer Palace? All I got was a bunch of wasteland! And there aren't even that many material types! Did you really build the Forbidden City block by block? I think you just composited it on a computer!"

Chen Mo made a "hands-up" expression: "I really did build it block by block. This is your single-player mode, called 'My World.' Since it's your world, why would the buildings I made appear in your world?"

Lin Xue: "...You make a good point. I can't argue with that. So, where can I see the Forbidden City?"

Chen Mo said, "Are you sure you want to see it now? It might dampen your creative enthusiasm."

Lin Xue said, "I'm sure!"

Chen Mo made a "funny" expression: "Alright, I'm sending you a party invite. First, quit your single-player mode and enter 'Chen Mo's World.'"

Lin Xue accepted the friend request Chen Mo sent, then exited her single-player mode.

Back in the lobby, to the right of the observatory, there was a slightly smaller portal with the words "Chen Mo's World" written on it.

Muttering "conceited shopkeeper" under her breath, Lin Xue stepped into the portal.

Countless blocks flashed past Lin Xue, converging into a massive, mosaic-like vortex. Soon, Lin Xue arrived in a brand-new world.

The first thing that caught her eye was a giant archway, dozens of meters high, with the words "Chen Mo's World" inscribed on it.

The archway was beautifully made and very grand. Looking up from below, you couldn't help but feel small. However, the architectural style was quite unique—it wasn't Chinese, nor was it foreign, and it didn't seem to belong to any particular era.

Passing through the archway was a dense forest. The trees here were over ten meters tall, and through the gaps in the foliage, the scenery in the distance was faintly visible.

There was a huge valley, with countless mountain peaks vaguely visible. Hidden within the valley and among the peaks were many clusters of buildings. From a distance, it looked incredibly spectacular.

There seemed to be a building area in the sky as well, looking like a large floating city, but it was partially obscured by white clouds, making it hard to see clearly.

Lin Xue was already getting impatient. Although this world had only revealed a tiny fraction of itself, she could sense that beyond her field of vision lay countless magnificent scenes.

"Hey, where's the shopkeeper?" Lin Xue looked around.

Chen Mo's little character appeared beside her.

After partying up, both characters' names changed color, so there was no worry about losing track of each other.

Besides Chen Mo, many other little characters were flying into the archway, eager to explore this world.

In "Chen Mo's World," free flight was also possible, just like in Creative Mode. However, players couldn't change anything in this world—they couldn't dig or place blocks.

Lin Xue couldn't wait any longer: "Shopkeeper, let's go!"

"Hold on."

A crystal appeared in Chen Mo's hand. He placed the crystals one by one on the ground, forming the shape of a winged dragon. Then, from who knows where, he pulled out a control core and directly installed it in the dragon's chest.

The dragon came to life, turning into a real crystal dragon, even shaking its neck.

Chen Mo repeated the process and created another crystal dragon.

"Alright, mount up," Chen Mo said.

Lin Xue stared in shock at the dragon. It was clearly an in-game model, just as smooth as the character models, completely transparent, and very beautiful.

Lin Xue mounted the dragon and found she could actually control it to fly freely.

Chen Mo said, "Alright, let's go."

Chen Mo and Lin Xue, one in front and the other behind, rode their crystal dragons through the air, showing off.

By now, there were already many players in "Chen Mo's World." Many of them had bought the game and, without even trying single-player mode, came straight to "Chen Mo's World" to find the Forbidden City.

These players were leisurely flying along when they suddenly saw two crystal dragons whizz past with a "whoosh."

Everyone was dumbfounded.

"Holy crap? What just flew by? Was that a dragon?"

"Where did that dragon come from?"

"Damn, did he buy it with real money? You can buy that?"

"Seriously, how can you run into a pay-to-win player even in a block-building game!"

"Oh my god, this game is unplayable!"
