Chapter 1084: Duel! (First Update)
Taking an airship to Orgrimmar, Old P asked NPCs on the roadside for directions while checking his map.
"This is... really damn far."
After getting off the airship, he had to pass through Durotar first, then head west into the Barrens. The Crossroads was supposedly in the upper part of the Barrens, where two roads intersected.
That said, the map was all blank, with no precise coordinates—he'd have to find it himself.
Fortunately, even though *World of Warcraft* relied on running on your own two legs, it didn't feel tiring, just a bit boring.
"What a damn long-distance running simulator. Little Fatty, how are you two doing? I'm almost at the Crossroads," Old P asked.
Little Fatty quickly responded: "We're in the Barrens too, almost there! Oh crap, why are there so many level 19 mobs here? I almost pulled too many."
Old P saw Little Fatty's health bar go up and down before finally stabilizing.
Clearly, the two had been running blindly and attracted quite a few high-level mobs, nearly getting themselves killed.
"Good thing Lin Xue's healing is strong enough," Zou Zhuo remarked.
Lin Xue puffed out her chest proudly: "Of course! Don't you know what race I am?"
When it came to being directionally challenged, most players had a bit of it, especially newbies just starting out. With the map needing to be explored manually, it was easy to get lost. Luckily, if lost, you could grab any NPC and ask for directions, and you could see your teammates' positions on the map, so the three of them didn't have too much trouble meeting at the Crossroads.
Five minutes later, Old P arrived first, and Lin Xue and Zou Zhuo showed up a few minutes after.
Zou Zhuo couldn't help but reach out with his cow hoof and pat Old P on the head: "Haha, Old P, you're so short."
No kidding—an Undead stood straight at only 1.8 meters, hunched over at about 1.7 meters, while a Tauren was 2.3 meters tall. Old P, the Undead mage, barely reached Zou Zhuo's chest.
Old P scowled and swatted Zou Zhuo's cow hoof away: "If you've got the guts, duel me!"
Zou Zhuo laughed: "Duel it is. With that tiny frame of yours, don't say I'm bullying you later."
Old P sent a duel request to Zou Zhuo, and the duel flag was planted on the ground.
There were quite a few players around doing quests or shopping, and when they saw the commotion, they all gathered.
"Wow, a duel to watch!"
"Place your bets! I think that Tauren, being so tall and sturdy, must be strong. Look, he's holding a two-handed axe—probably just three swings to take down that Undead, right?"
"This is a warrior versus a mage, think it through."
The onlooking crowd didn't know much either, just gathered around to gawk.
A countdown appeared in the field of view. The moment the duel started, Zou Zhuo charged straight into Old P's face.
The crowd immediately cheered: "Wow, look at that warrior—he's fierce!"
But after Zou Zhuo swung a couple of times, he noticed Old P wasn't losing health. A faint blue mana shield surrounded him, and Zou Zhuo's two-handed axe strikes felt soft, with all damage absorbed.
Old P quickly snapped out of it, arcane light flaring in his hands as he began chanting a spell.
Zou Zhuo was still hacking away happily, nearly breaking through Old P's mana shield, when he heard a "Baa."
"???"
Zou Zhuo was dumbfounded. Did that "Baa" just come from him?
Yes, indeed. Zou Zhuo realized his field of view was completely off. Before, it was high—after all, a Tauren stood over two meters tall—but now it felt like Xiao Ming's perspective?
He could only see Old P leisurely strolling away in the distance, while his own view barely reached the Undead mage's waist.
When he looked down, Zou Zhuo was shocked.
He had turned into a sheep!
Zou Zhuo suddenly remembered—he'd seen it in *I Am MT*: mages could indeed polymorph humanoids into sheep...
Zou Zhuo wanted to fight back, struggling to charge forward, using his sheep horns, but there was still plenty of time.
"But we don't have enough people," Zou Zhuo said.
Old P looked exasperated: "Call for help! We've got a tank, a healer, and a mage—just need a couple more, and we should be fine."
