Chapter 632: Dominant CEO Lin Qiye
Black Parasol Club.
As the lights came on, the neon signs of Dotonbori lit up one after another under the dim sky, casting a unique blue-purple glow through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Black Parasol Club's second floor.
Yuzuri Nana had wiped every table in the restaurant until they were spotless. After a busy day, she sat down on a chair and let out a long sigh.
At that moment, a boy in a deep blue sequin jacket sat down across from her and stared at her quietly.
Yuzuri Nana had only met this new host today. To be honest, even with her discerning, picky, and professional eye, she couldn't find any flaws in Amemiya Haruki's appearance. In her heart, Amemiya Haruki's hard skills as a host were only a hair's breadth below Lin Qiye's.
That single hair's breadth difference was because he didn't possess the subtle kingly aura that Lin Qiye had.
"Brother Amemiya, is there something you need?" Yuzuri Nana asked, puzzled by Amemiya Haruki's constant stare.
Amemiya Haruki was dazed for a long moment before shaking his head. "No, it's nothing. It's just that you look like... a friend of mine."
"Friend?" Yuzuri Nana thought for a moment. "Is the friend you're talking about also a girl?"
"No... he's a man."
"...How rude." Yuzuri Nana muttered quietly.
Snap, snap, snap!
Uncle Kyosuke clapped his hands a few times and walked up to the group, a smile spreading across his face as he spoke:
"It's time to open for business, rising stars of the host industry... Are you ready to welcome the cheers and enthusiasm of our esteemed female customers?"
Lin Qiye raised an eyebrow, seemingly not understanding what Uncle Kyosuke meant, and gave no reply.
Amemiya Haruki quietly lowered his head, staring at his own feet, pretending not to have heard a single word.
Only Little Jin lazily raised his hand and said in a listless tone: "Ready~"
This awkward atmosphere didn't affect the smile spreading across Uncle Kyosuke's face. He walked down the stairs, opened the tightly closed front door, and lit up the neon sign hanging upstairs.
The Black Parasol Club began its business hours.
Lin Qiye and Amemiya Haruki stood up simultaneously, positioning themselves beside the second-floor staircase, ready to receive customers at any moment. Little Jin was still lazily sprawled on the table, yawning.
Soon, Lin Qiye and the others understood why Little Jin wasn't worried at all.
Half an hour had passed since opening, and not even the shadow of a customer had appeared.
Or rather, no one had come to this entire secluded side street where the Black Parasol Club was located. Even those who did pass by only glanced casually toward the entrance before walking away.
At this moment, the previously "ready~" Little Jin had already fallen asleep on the table.
Lin Qiye and Amemiya Haruki stood on either side of the hallway, exchanging glances, both sensing they'd been scammed.
No customers meant no spending and no commission?!
"Uncle Kyosuke, why are there still no customers?" Lin Qiye couldn't help but ask.
Uncle Kyosuke grinned. "Don't be impatient. It's still early... Just wait a bit more. Customers will come eventually."
And so,
Lin Qiye and Amemiya Haruki waited from six o'clock all the way to ten.
Those customers who had wandered around Dotonbori for dinner had basically left. Foot traffic had decreased significantly. Lin Qiye watched helplessly as the bustling street gradually emptied out, his conviction of being scammed growing stronger by the minute.
Just as he was about to go find Uncle Kyosuke, a loud female voice suddenly rang out from downstairs.
"Little Jin~ hiccup, Little Jin~ I'm here to see you~"
Lin Qiye and Amemiya Haruki instantly came alive. Little Jin, who had been sleeping on the table, shuddered violently, startling awake from his dream as if he had just experienced a nightmare.
Customers had arrived!
Three women in their late twenties came up the stairs together. The one in front was clearly a bit drunk. Even from several meters away, Lin Qiye could smell the alcohol on her. The other two appeared to be her besties, visiting such a place for the first time, sizing up their surroundings with shy yet curious eyes.
Uncle Kyosuke quickly walked over to the three customers with a warm, welcoming smile:
"Miss Tsuneta, you've come to see Little Jin again today?"
"Yeah, it's Kyosuke~ hiccup." Miss Tsuneta burped. "Quick, quick, get Little Jin to keep me company. I haven't seen him in so long. I wonder if he's lost weight these days..."
"No problem, Little Jin is available now." Uncle Kyosuke smiled and turned to the other two female customers. "Are these friends of Miss Tsuneta? They look a bit unfamiliar. First time here?
Perfect timing—we actually have two new hosts here. They're absolute top-tier specimens you've never seen before. Would you like to meet them?"
"Top-tier?" Miss Tsuneta laughed. "Come on, Kyosuke, I've been here so many times. I know how many hosts you've got here. All those previous guys were just useless, and the only one worth looking at was Little Jin.
Both my sisters here are very picky people. Don't bother with the ordinary ones... hm??"
Miss Tsuneta walked up the stairs, her words trailing off as she saw Lin Qiye and Amemiya Haruki standing on either side. She froze right where she stood.
Her two besties stared straight ahead, eyes wide open.
Holy cow, so hosts could be this handsome?!!
"Who are these two..." Miss Tsuneta's gaze couldn't tear itself away from Lin Qiye's deep eyes as she spoke in a daze.
"These are our new hosts. This is Amemiya, and this is Asaba." Uncle Kyosuke introduced them with a smile. "By the way, their fees are a bit on the higher side..."
"I want him! I want him!!" Miss Tsuneta's drunkenness vanished instantly as she exclaimed excitedly. "Money is no object! I want him to drink with me!"
"And what about these two ladies?"
"W-well, I'll take Amemiya..." One of the besties' eyes were locked on Amemiya Haruki as she spoke, cheeks flushing slightly.
"I'll stick with Sister Tsuneta." The other bestie chose Lin Qiye.
"Please, take a seat."
Miss Tsuneta grabbed Lin Qiye's arm, gazing at that face with shining eyes, pulling him all the way to a window seat.
Lin Qiye furrowed his brow and pulled his arm free from Miss Tsuneta's embrace.
Miss Tsuneta froze in place. She stared at Lin Qiye, seemingly annoyed:
"What, what do you mean by this? I'm a customer!"
Lin Qiye lowered his head, eyes half-narrowed as he gazed into Miss Tsuneta's eyes. His gaze radiated an irresistible majesty, like a noble king surveying all beneath heaven.
"And so what if you're a customer?" he said coolly. "If you want me to drink with you, you'll follow my rules. Otherwise... get out."
Miss Tsuneta stared at his eyes like a statue, standing frozen in place for a long while...
Then, an unprecedented excitement bloomed in her eyes!
So domineering! So handsome! This persona! I love it!!
Please, scold me all you want!!
