**Chapter 561: Nyx’s Gift**

Nyx’s gaze fell upon the three hundred “mysteries” suspended in the air. Her cold, beautiful face showed no emotion.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, and the darkness around her surged like boiling water. The “mysteries” hanging in the sky seemed to be hooked by invisible chains around their necks, lined up and rapidly flying toward Lin Qiye…

Under the cover of night, they could not resist. They were weak to the extreme. The darkness had already seeped into their bodies, corroding their internal organs, leaving them on the verge of death.

In the silence of death, they were like pigs hung on a slaughterhouse conveyor belt, being delivered one by one to Lin Qiye’s front.

[Dark Night Slaughterhouse].

Lin Qiye held his blade horizontally. One after another, the “mysteries” crashed into the edge of his sword with brutal efficiency and terrifying speed.

They moved so fast that Lin Qiye couldn’t even clearly see what kind of “mystery” he was killing before their soul turned into a warm current and flowed into the Asylum of the Gods.

In the underground of the Asylum, the number of “mysteries” imprisoned in cages was skyrocketing at an astonishing rate!

Gradually, Lin Qiye became numb. He simply held his blade horizontally, closed his eyes, and stopped thinking about anything.

Under Nyx’s control, the entire beast tide was wiped out in less than a minute. When Lin Qiye opened his eyes again, a towering mountain of corpses had piled up in front of him.

An Qingyu, standing nearby, silently swallowed.

The beast tide had vanished completely under the night.

“In the future, Mother won’t be able to protect you by your side, so I thought I’d find you some more helpers,” Nyx said as she walked up to him, smiling. “Do you like this gift?”

Lin Qiye nodded repeatedly. “I love it.”

Three hundred “mysteries” — if he had to collect them through normal missions, it would’ve taken decades. With Nyx’s help, he had almost maxed out the number of orderlies in one go.

Of course, “maxed out” wasn’t truly possible — Lin Qiye had sensed that the underground cages in the Asylum of the Gods were practically infinite.

Even if he filtered out more than half of the useless ones, he could still get over a hundred orderlies. Signing contracts with each of them would take days…

Now, the problem Lin Qiye needed to worry about was whether the asylum could hold so many people.

Nyx smiled at his response. She reached into the void and pulled out a black knitted coat.

She draped it over Lin Qiye’s shoulders, stepped back, and examined him carefully, satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.

The coat fit perfectly. Wearing it, Lin Qiye’s aura became more composed and dignified. Combined with his already handsome face, he looked like a character stepped out of a comic.

“The thread used to weave this coat is my divine power. The needle that stitched it is the law of night,” Nyx said as she stood before him. “Wearing it is like being wrapped in my night. It can block several attacks from laws. When I’m not around, it will protect you well.”

Lin Qiye gently rubbed the surface of the coat. The threads were fine and neat. Though black, it felt warm to the touch and incredibly comfortable.

A coat made of this material — there was only one in the entire world.

Looking into Nyx’s eyes, Lin Qiye felt a warmth flow through his heart. He opened his mouth and sincerely said:

“Thank you, Mother.”

“Next, there’s one last gift.”

She glanced around and waved her hand. A veil of night enveloped the area, isolating them from the others’ sight.

“Mother, what are you…”

Lin Qiye was puzzled.

“This last gift is best kept secret,” Nyx shook her head. “If I’m not mistaken… you still have one chance to draw one of my abilities.”

Lin Qiye was stunned, then nodded.

After reaching 100% treatment progress, he had one final chance to extract an ability. Nyx had met the conditions just before her discharge, but Lin Qiye had been too busy with outside matters and postponed it.

“Now, let’s draw,” Nyx said, placing her hand on his and slowly closing her eyes.

Lin Qiye acknowledged softly and sank his consciousness into the Asylum of the Gods.

Wearing his white coat, he stood in the center of the courtyard. On the nearby corridor, Li Yifei and a few other orderlies huddled together, watching silently.

They had all seen Nyx leave the asylum just now — the first patient ever to walk out. It was a miraculous event, and they all stayed behind to see what would happen next.

In the empty courtyard, only Lin Qiye and Merlin stood.

Today, Merlin wore a handsome deep-blue mage robe and held a staff, smiling at Lin Qiye, lost in thought.

“Merlin, don’t forget our agreement,” Nyx’s voice echoed faintly from the sky.

Merlin sighed. “I know. That’s why I’m here.”

Lin Qiye turned to him in confusion. “Lord Merlin, what are you doing?”

Merlin waved his hand. “Don’t mind me. Just continue what you need to do.”

Lin Qiye nodded suspiciously and looked ahead. There, a translucent roulette wheel floated in the air.

Familiar abilities were scattered across it.

“Nightfall, Eye of Darkness, Falling Thousand Stars, Star Shatter, Night Flash, Night Kin, Supernatural Fertility…”

After mentally mocking *Supernatural Fertility* again, Lin Qiye’s gaze paused on a tiny corner of the wheel — a black area that took up less than 1% of the total. The ability listed there was called “Unknown.”

Lin Qiye had seen this “Unknown” area twice before, but both previous draws had landed nowhere near it. This time, he didn’t pay it much mind.

He took a deep breath, adjusted his mindset, and slowly spun the wheel.

The pointer slid across the abilities. Lin Qiye’s heart clenched. The brief moment of the draw felt endless…

Finally, the pointer stopped.

Lin Qiye’s pupils shrank. He nearly spat blood!

[Supernatural Fertility]!
