# 447
**Chapter 447: Farewell Again, Shen Qingzhu**
Baili Pangpang’s entire body trembled when he heard those words.
He hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth, gripping the golden spear and charging toward the heavily injured Baili Xin!
Baili Xin had never imagined that Lin Qiye would go this far for Baili Pangpang. As he stumbled backward, watching Baili Pangpang rush toward him, a rare look of panic flashed across his face.
The golden spear tip sliced through the air, stopping just a hair’s breadth from his throat!
“Hahaha…” At the critical moment, Baili Xin let out a cold laugh. “And here I thought you were so different from me. Turns out, we’re the same kind of person.”
The spear hovered at Baili Xin’s throat. Baili Pangpang glared at him with burning eyes. “Bullshit!”
“Is it? Your brothers were willing to risk their lives to save you. And what about you? You’re about to drag them into the abyss! How is that any different from my selfishness?” Baili Xin said coldly.
“Do you even know what will happen if you kill me today?
As a Night Watch, assassinating a high-ranking Night Watch official? Not only will your squad never become a special team, but every one of you will be branded as criminals. You’ll be locked away in the Purification Chamber for the rest of your lives.
You’ll have your revenge, sure. But what about them?
Their bright futures will be destroyed by your selfish desire. Is that what they deserve?”
Baili Xin’s voice was calm and ruthless.
Baili Pangpang’s hands trembled uncontrollably as he gripped the spear. His eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Baili Xin, his heart torn in turmoil.
“Qiye… I can’t do it…”
After a moment, Baili Pangpang’s knuckles turned white from gripping the spear. Slowly, he lowered it, his voice trembling. “I can’t drag you all down with me…”
Seeing this, Baili Xin couldn’t help but smirk.
“That’s right. Just behave—”
*Pfft—!!*
Before he could finish, his voice cut off abruptly.
Baili Xin’s expression froze.
He slowly looked down. A black blade had pierced through his chest—deep and dark as the abyss.
**Soul-Severing Blade.**
Baili Xin’s lips turned pale. He turned his head stiffly to see a figure in a white fox mask standing silently behind him.
From the black ring on the figure’s right index finger extended a blade that had stabbed straight through his heart from behind.
“Talk too damn much,” Shen Qingzhu muttered expressionlessly as he pulled out the **Soul-Severing Blade**. With his soul severed, Baili Xin lost all signs of life and collapsed like a pile of mud.
Baili Pangpang stood frozen, witnessing everything.
Not far away, Lin Qiye—who had been desperately holding off Zuo Qing—also saw it. His mental power swept over the figure, and he clearly saw the familiar face beneath the mask.
“You’re…” Lin Qiye’s eyes were filled with disbelief.
Shen Qingzhu raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
*Snap—!!*
A burst of flame instantly incinerated Baili Xin’s corpse.
Red ashes drifted upward, casting a blood-red glow on the delicate white fox mask.
“Fatty, I’ve repaid the favor I owed you,” Shen Qingzhu said calmly.
He took two steps back, then leapt through the broken floor-to-ceiling window, plunging into the clouds and vanishing from sight.
Baili Pangpang finally snapped out of it and rushed to the window. He stared at the layered sea of clouds below—Shen Qingzhu was gone.
“Bro…” he murmured.
Nearby, Zuo Qing slashed repeatedly with his **Straight Blade**, green light cutting through over a dozen sealing magic arrays. His gaze locked onto the window Shen Qingzhu had jumped from, eyes narrowing as he transformed into a streak of light and gave chase!
“Wait!”
“Stop!”
Seeing Zuo Qing about to pursue Shen Qingzhu, both Lin Qiye and Baili Pangpang shouted in unison, blocking his path!
“Lin Qiye, what the hell are you doing?!” Zuo Qing’s eyes flared with anger. “You tried to kill Baili Xin right in front of me, and now you’re stopping me from chasing his assassin? Do you think I’m just for show? I can have you stripped of your position with a single word!”
“Then do it,” Lin Qiye said firmly. “But I won’t let you pass!”
“You—!!”
Zuo Qing glared at Lin Qiye. After a long moment, he cursed under his breath. “Damn it. If you weren’t Ye Fan’s pick, I’d have broken your legs today!”
He sheathed his **Straight Blade**, snorted, and turned to leave the building.
Seeing that Zuo Qing had given up on chasing Shen Qingzhu, Lin Qiye finally relaxed. But just as he was about to speak, the magical elements around him receded like a tide, and an overwhelming exhaustion flooded his soul.
His body went limp, and he collapsed.
“Qiye!” Baili Pangpang caught him in a panic.
Zuo Qing, who had reached the edge of the hall, paused. He glanced back at the pale-faced Lin Qiye surrounded by the others, his mouth twitching. After a moment of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and ran back.
“Damn kid… always causing trouble.”
…
Shen Qingzhu’s body fell through the air. The air around him grew visibly thick, as if he weren’t falling but sinking into water. The air itself seemed to absorb the kinetic energy of his descent.
Finally, he landed steadily on the ground.
He looked up at the Baili main tower piercing through the clouds, then silently removed his mask.
“You’ve got guts, assassinating Baili Xin right under the noses of the Night Watch higher-ups,” Ninth Seat said, stepping out from behind a pillar.
Shen Qingzhu glanced at him. “You said it yourself—if you want to become Second Seat, you’ve got to be bold.”
Ninth Seat shook his head helplessly and walked to a car parked by the roadside, opening the door. “Baili Xin wasn’t our target this time, but he’s on the Church of the Ancient Gods’ bounty list. If Lord **Yiyu** finds out you killed him, he’ll be thrilled. I bet your rank’s about to go up again.”
Shen Qingzhu shrugged as he got into the driver’s seat. “Maybe.”
“Mission complete. Where to next?” Ninth Seat asked, turning to him.
Shen Qingzhu blinked. “Aren’t we supposed to report back to the church?”
“What’s the rush? You’ve just pulled off something huge. Does it matter if we report back a little later?” Ninth Seat patted his shoulder with a grin. “Kid, don’t push yourself so hard. Take a break once in a while.”
Shen Qingzhu was silent for a moment. “Then… let’s take a walk around Guangzhou and Shenzhen.”
