# 446
**Chapter 446 – Accusation**
“Zuo Qing…” Baili Xin’s brows furrowed slightly. “What are you doing here?”
Zuo Qing stepped through the wreckage of the venue, heading straight for Baili Xin. Just then, an arm suddenly blocked his path.
He paused, turned in confusion, and saw Jialan in a long dress standing beside him, watching him warily with a clear “keep your distance” expression.
Zuo Qing gave a helpless smile, pulled out a shiny Coat of Arms from his pocket, and held it up for everyone to see.
“I’m Zuo Qing, Director of the Night Watch Special Operations Division.” After stating his identity, Jialan still stubbornly stood in his way, seemingly unable to understand a word he said. He couldn’t help but add, “I’m your superior. Can you let me through now?”
“Jialan.” Lin Qiye’s voice came from behind her.
Jialan turned around. Lin Qiye gave her a look, and only then did she step aside obediently.
Zuo Qing stared at the white-haired youth radiating magical energy, stunned for a moment before speaking in surprise, “Lin Qiye, when did you dye your hair?”
Lin Qiye: “…”
“No, wait…” Zuo Qing carefully sensed the aura around Lin Qiye, confusion flashing in his eyes. “Why do I sense the presence of other gods on you?”
“We’ll talk about that later.” Lin Qiye smoothly changed the subject. “Director Zuo, what brings you here?”
Although Lin Qiye wasn’t entirely clear on the internal structure of Night Watch, he knew that all special teams fell under the jurisdiction of the Special Operations Division. Zuo Qing was right—he was the director of that division, making him the direct superior of all special teams. The Fifth Reserve Team wasn’t a formal special team yet, but they still fell under his authority.
This man was a true high-ranking official of Night Watch.
“I’m your superior, after all. Is this how you greet me on our first meeting? So cold…” Zuo Qing shrugged. “I’m here to arrest someone.”
“Arrest someone?” Lin Qiye was taken aback.
Zuo Qing’s gaze landed on the disheveled Baili Xin. He cleared his throat and spoke solemnly, “Baili Xin, Chairman of the Baili Group and Honorary High-Ranking Member of Night Watch, by order of Night Watch’s Supreme Commander Ye Fan, I hereby arrest you on charges of ‘unauthorized alteration of classified documents,’ ‘bribery,’ and ‘murder.’”
Upon hearing this, Baili Xin’s body trembled violently.
He looked up, stunned, staring into Zuo Qing’s eyes, seemingly unable to comprehend how Ye Fan could have known everything. After a long pause, he rasped, “I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
Zuo Qing sneered. “Baili Xin, you’re just an honorary member. Did you really think you could control Night Watch with one hand? Did you think swapping out a few photos would erase the existence of a Night Watch member?
What do you take the lives of Night Watch members for?”
Baili Xin stared back, his expression shifting slightly, though his gaze remained sharp.
“If I’m not mistaken, you don’t have any evidence, do you?” he said coldly.
“The Intelligence Department is already gathering evidence.” Zuo Qing frowned, stepped up to Baili Xin, and spoke slowly and clearly, “Every dirty thing you’ve done under the banner of Night Watch’s honorary high-ranking member—you won’t be able to deny a single one.”
Baili Xin’s lips curled into a smirk. He let out a soft laugh. “Zuo Qing, do you really think I don’t know Night Watch’s rules? As long as you don’t have solid evidence to convict me, I remain an honorary high-ranking member. That means we’re still equals!
Even if you want to investigate me, it has to be done through a military tribunal. You have no authority to arrest me!
I doubt Ye Fan’s original words were anything like what you just said, were they?”
Zuo Qing stared at that smirking face, his expression darkening. After a long silence, he slowly pulled a document from his pocket.
“This is a subpoena from the military tribunal, Baili Xin. You can’t escape it.”
Baili Xin glanced at the document, his eyes narrowing. “If the military tribunal is summoning me, then of course I’ll go… But until then, I remain an honorary high-ranking member of Night Watch.”
He raised a hand and pointed at Lin Qiye and the others standing nearby, speaking coldly:
“The Fifth Reserve Team murdered thirteen people, including my son Baili Jing, without cause. They deliberately destroyed Baili Group property, attempted to kill seventy-two guests present, severely injured all members of the 010 Squad who tried to uphold justice, released an extremely dangerous evil creature, endangered public safety, and even attempted to murder a current honorary high-ranking member of Night Watch… Director Zuo, will you be taking this accusation?”
Lin Qiye and the others’ expressions turned grim.
Zuo Qing stared into Baili Xin’s eyes. “Baili Xin, are you even human?”
Baili Xin sneered. “Director Zuo, you’re standing right here at the scene. The bodies are in the corner of the venue. The evidence is undeniable… Are you going to cover for your reserve team?”
A black magic circle suddenly opened beneath Baili Xin’s feet!
Zuo Qing’s pupils shrank. He grabbed Baili Xin by the collar and vanished on the spot.
The next moment, blades shot out from the magic circle, piercing the spot where Baili Xin had stood. Zuo Qing reappeared nearby, dragging Baili Xin with him. He turned sharply to look at Lin Qiye, whose face was dark with fury, and shouted:
“Lin Qiye, do you even know what you’re doing?!”
Lin Qiye’s magical robe billowed without wind. He looked calmly at Zuo Qing and raised his hand once more.
“I told you—he dies here today.”
Three consecutive spatial spells appeared around Zuo Qing, completely enveloping him. The teleportation activated instantly, and in the next moment, Zuo Qing was transported away, vanishing from the spot.
Just then, a cyan blade light tore through the void. Zuo Qing forcibly interrupted the teleportation and reappeared a few meters away from Baili Xin.
“Have you lost your mind? If you kill Baili Xin today, there’ll be no turning back!” Zuo Qing shouted as he dodged the magical traps appearing one after another. “Let the military tribunal judge his crimes and give him the punishment he deserves—isn’t that better?”
“The punishment he deserves?” Lin Qiye narrowed his eyes. “Tell me—what punishment will he get? Will he be sentenced to death?”
Zuo Qing was stunned. “No. Night Watch doesn’t have the death penalty. And as a former honorary high-ranking member, if the evidence is solid, he’ll be sent to the Purification Chamber to spend the rest of his life…”
Lin Qiye sneered. “Since you won’t kill him… then we will.”
Lin Qiye flashed forward, appearing directly in front of Zuo Qing. Several sealing spells activated at once, trapping him firmly inside!
“Pangpang!” Lin Qiye turned and shouted at the stunned Baili Pangpang. “What are you waiting for? Go kill the person you want to kill…
We’ll face the consequences—together.”
