Chapter 322 – Pirated God’s Ruins

High in the air, Wu “Old Dog” showed no trace of panic. Calmly watching the steel pillar about to skewer him, he slowly clenched both fists.

The darkness around him instantly boiled!

A sliver of night crept over every piece of metal. Half a second later, it was as though all the metal had been painted black—inky and pitch-dark.

As Wu “Old Dog” balled his hands into fists, the steel pillar in mid-air let out an ear-piercing screech, as if an invisible giant were kneading every chunk of metal, twisting them into pretzels!

Bang, bang, bang—!

One piece after another snapped under the torsion and froze in the air. No matter how Fourth Seat tried to drive them, he couldn’t regain control.

The corner of Wu “Old Dog”’s mouth curled upward, and the dark steel hovered around him in a perfect ring.

From the moment darkness corroded them, they belonged only to Wu “Old Dog”.

With a flick of his finger, the steel python coiling around him loosened, folded, and spun at speed, instantly reshaping into a black-iron throne suspended in the sky.

He sat upon it, eyes half-lidded, looking down at the two Believers below, an invisible pressure radiating outward.

Watching the scene, Lin Qiye felt an inexplicable pang of envy.

Now that’s style.

A pirated God’s Ruins, yet after being pushed half a step into Klein, it could dominate like this. Forget anything else—just corroding all that metal and folding it into a throne had surpassed Lin Qiye’s imagination.

When I reach that realm, my style will outshine even Old Dog’s!

He silently consoled himself.

Fourth Seat’s face darkened further when he saw Wu “Old Dog” seize control of his metal. Just then, a spatial rift tore open in the middle of the battlefield!

“That’s…” Sixth Seat’s eyes lit up.

From the rift stepped Second Seat of the Believers, hands in pockets. Glancing up at Wu “Old Dog” in the sky, he narrowed his eyes.

“Felt something off from outside… looks like trouble after all.” Second Seat sighed.

Another “Infinity”-level powerhouse—no, judging by his aura, he should originally be a “Klein” like Wu “Old Dog”, only suppressed by the town’s stele to the peak of “Infinity”.

Wu “Old Dog”’s brows drew together.

Now there were three Infinity enemies on the field, one equal to himself. Worse, the newcomer’s Forbidden Ruins involved space.

If the foe attacked with tangible objects like Fourth Seat, the Umbral God’s Ruins could devour and invert them easily. But against something formless like space, his influence was minimal.

Second Seat’s arrival tipped the one-sided fight back to equilibrium.

After a moment’s thought, Wu “Old Dog” turned to Lin Qiye. “It’ll get dangerous here. Go—this isn’t your fight.”

Lin Qiye hesitated, then nodded. “Take care.”

Wu “Old Dog” smiled faintly. Rising from the black-iron throne, he let darkness weave into a cloak that merged with the night.

“Leave, and don’t come back… maybe one day we’ll meet outside the Purification Chamber.”

Something flickered in his eyes—quiet sorrow. He murmured only for himself, “May that day never come.”

Lin Qiye gave him one last look, then vanished into the darkness Wu “Old Dog” wrapped around him. Even if the three Believers wanted to stop him, they couldn’t find a trace.

“The kid got away,” Fourth Seat growled.

“Let him. Once he’s outside the Chamber, we’ll track him sooner or later,” Second Seat said flatly. “For now, deal with Wu Tongxuan.”

Wu “Old Dog” gazed calmly at the trio; a torrent of power erupted. Four Infinity-level auras collided head-on.

“Killing me won’t be that easy.”

……

Office.

Baili Pangpang stood at the window, gulping at the blazing prison blocks nearby.

“Just how much did my dad pay for this effect… isn’t this a bit over the top?”

Cao Yuan rolled his eyes. “Pay? Can’t you feel several Infinity-level fights going on? The whole Purification Chamber’s about to be demolished—this is a real jailbreak!”

Baili Pangpang blinked. “You mean… besides us, someone else is breaking in?”

“Has to be.” Cao Yuan pondered. “Remember the three guys we tied up outside? I think that acting warden is with them—only he mistook us for his allies…”

After all this time, Cao Yuan had finally seen through the ruse and escaped Baili Pangpang’s IQ-draining aura to think for himself.

“That much of a coincidence?” Baili Pangpang gaped.

“Why else did everything explode right after the warden said he was ‘completing his mission’? Sneaking around—definitely an inside man!” Cao Yuan declared. “And I bet their target is the same as ours: Sunshine Psychiatric Hospital!”

“They’re after Qiye too?” Baili Pangpang’s face changed; he strode for the door. “Then we’d better hurry—can’t let them get him first.”

As he reached it, the door opened from outside. Xie Yu stood there, freezing when he saw the pair.

Baili Pangpang’s burly frame jolted.

“Why are you still here?” Xie Yu frowned.

“We… were just leaving,” Baili Pangpang scratched his head.

“That doesn’t add up.” Xie Yu’s frown deepened. “If you two are here, who are the two drawing fire outside the Purification Chamber?”

Baili Pangpang’s expression stiffened; his mouth opened, but no words came.

Behind him, Cao Yuan’s eyes narrowed, hand drifting to his saber.

Suddenly Xie Yu sensed something and spun around. At the far end of the corridor, a white-coated, bespectacled figure approached.

“You? What are you doing here?” Xie Yu’s face darkened.

Doctor Li stopped a few paces away, hands in pockets, and shook his head regretfully. “Never thought you were the mole…”
