**Chapter 320: My Dream**

Seeing that the two had already recognized him, Lin Qiye knew there was no room for luck. He understood exactly how much his life was worth to the Church of the Ancient Gods and the Believers.

Today, there was no way he would walk out of this unscathed.

He took a deep breath and sank his consciousness into the Asylum of the Gods, giving Merlin and Nyx a heads-up in advance, ready to bear their souls at any moment.

Over the past year, Lin Qiye’s soul injuries had fully healed. He could once again briefly carry the souls of gods. If he could push his realm to “Boundless,” he might just stand a chance in battle. At the very least, he could protect himself.

This was Lin Qiye’s final trump card.

“There’s not much time. Kill him quickly, then go after Wu—” Fourth Seat’s words were cut short as he suddenly froze, his eyes glazing over.

Beside him, Sixth Seat also fell into a daze.

“This is…” Lin Qiye murmured, a realization dawning on him.

The next moment, the scene before his eyes shifted. The dark exercise yard vanished, replaced by a vast ocean.

No wind. No clouds. The sea was perfectly still, like a smooth mirror reflecting the dim yellow sky.

At the horizon, a tangerine sun had mostly set. The dying light cast a red glow across the mirror-like surface, dyeing the entire sea a deep crimson.

Lin Qiye looked up and saw Fourth Seat and Sixth Seat standing not far from him on the sea’s surface, their faces grave.

“This is… a dream,” Lin Qiye whispered.

He turned to see a middle-aged man in a blue-and-white hospital gown standing silently behind him. Barefoot, he stood on the surface of the sea. The crimson sunset reflected in his eyes like drops of blood.

Wu “Old Dog” calmly walked in front of Lin Qiye, squinting at the two figures ahead. He spoke slowly:

“Don’t worry. I’ll handle them.”

Lin Qiye nodded and quietly stepped back.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to help—it was that he couldn’t. This level of battle was beyond him. And he knew firsthand how terrifying the dream world could be. He believed Wu “Old Dog” had the means to fight them.

When Fourth Seat saw Wu “Old Dog,” he sneered. “Good. We’ll kill both of you together. Saves us the trouble of breaking into the psychiatric hospital.”

Wu “Old Dog” sighed. “I’m just a poor, pitiful mental patient. Why go to such lengths to kill me?”

“A pitiful mental patient?” Sixth Seat raised an eyebrow. “We don’t know if you’re truly insane, but we do know that killing you… means burying the future of the entire Spirit Medium Squad.”

At those words, Wu “Old Dog’s” expression darkened instantly.

“Who told you that?”

Fourth Seat smirked, his eyes full of mockery. “Take a guess.”

Wu “Old Dog’s” eyes flickered. After a moment, he snorted coldly. “You think you can kill me here? You’re not worthy.”

As his voice fell, the calm sea beneath his feet rippled. Seven figures clad in black cloaks appeared behind him, radiating murderous intent.

“The Spirit Medium Squad?!” Sixth Seat’s face changed drastically.

“No, not the real Spirit Medium Squad,” Fourth Seat narrowed his eyes. “These are just illusions he created in the dream. Even if he’s at the Klein realm outside, under the suppression of the Zhenxu Stele, he’s just like us—Boundless. These phantoms can’t be stronger than peak Sea Realm.”

Hearing that, Sixth Seat relaxed slightly.

“If it’s just a dream, then this’ll be easy,” he said with a chuckle.

In the distance, Wu “Old Dog” turned back and looked at the seven figures behind him, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

“Please, lend me your strength once more…”

*Crack—!!*

A violent bolt of lightning tore through the yellow sky. The seven figures moved in a flash, riding the lightning and surrounding the two Believers in an instant.

One of them raised his hands and rose into the air. A violent whirlwind erupted around him, sucking seawater into the sky and forming a massive waterspout that crashed down!

Just then, Sixth Seat smiled and raised a finger, tapping the air.

“[Mental Countermeasure].”

With his fingertip as the center, the surrounding dream began to shatter. The waterspout, the sea, the sunlight—all were erased. Beneath their feet, the calm ocean was replaced by the dirt ground of the original open-air exercise yard.

A fragment of reality had pierced the dream world.

With that fragment’s appearance, the entire dream became unstable. The once-still sea began to ripple. The distant sun sank further, about to vanish beneath the horizon. Even the seven black-cloaked figures began to blur.

“Mental Countermeasure?” Wu “Old Dog’s” pupils contracted.

“Wu Tongxuan, we know you’re the vice-captain of the Spirit Medium Squad—terrifyingly strong. But we didn’t come unprepared,” Fourth Seat said coldly.

“Forbidden Ruins Sequence 059, [Mental Countermeasure], specifically counters all mental-type Forbidden Ruins ranked below it. If I recall correctly, your [My Dream] is Sequence 070, isn’t it?”

Wu “Old Dog” frowned but said nothing.

“Heh, in front of me, your Forbidden Ruins are meaningless,” Sixth Seat said with a grin. The dream world around him continued to collapse. Soon, everything would vanish.

Lin Qiye, seeing Wu “Old Dog’s” Forbidden Ruins broken, furrowed his brow. He watched the old man’s back with concern, about to speak—when Wu “Old Dog” waved his hand, and the entire dream world shattered.

He had dispelled the dream himself.

Sixth Seat was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter. “Wu Tongxuan, you know you can’t win, so you’re giving up?”

Wu “Old Dog” looked at them calmly, a faint smile on his lips.

“I don’t know who gave you your information, but I’m afraid your plan has a flaw…”

Fourth Seat frowned. Sixth Seat’s eyes filled with confusion.

Wu “Old Dog” raised a hand and tidied his messy hair, smiling.

“Who said [My Dream] is my Forbidden Ruins?”
