Chapter 1871: Gate Transfer
Boom—!!
Two Supreme God forces collided repeatedly beneath the night sky, stars trembled, and Buddhist light shattered.
The massive double-faced Buddha statue plummeted to earth like a meteorite, carving a terrifying crater into the ground. The shockwaves radiated outward, annihilating every scattered stone into nothingness.
Vishnu's body crawled out from the ruins, letting out a roar at the beautiful woman treading on the night sky above. But before he could finish, a dense rain of starlight swords descended from the heavens, the explosive roar completely drowning out his howl.
"Is this all you've got? And you dare claim to be the sole Supreme God?"
Her starlight纱罗裙 fluttered gently in the night sky. Nyx gazed down at Vishnu submerged in starlight, coldly saying, "If not for the fall of the gods and Heavenly Court's departure, how could someone like you be so arrogant?"
Nyx raised her foot and stomped hard in midair. A patch of pitch-black night was compressed into a single point, then exploded with a thunderous roar. Endless darkness completely crushed the earth!
"Nyx!!!"
Vishnu's furious roar echoed from below. A pair of massive golden palms tore open a corner of the darkness. Through that gap, one could faintly see a grotesque, stitched-together Buddha face.
Just as Nyx was about to strike again, a dull knocking sound rang out from the distance!
Thud—!!
Golden ripples swept across the battlefield. The night and Buddhist light instantly froze in mid-air.
Nyx's brow furrowed. In the next moment, the divine power within her body lost control, frantically pouring outward, weaving into a surging golden torrent that vanished into the void.
"Supreme God artifact?" Nyx sensed the divine power drain and immediately turned to look in a certain direction.
There, in a misty grey fog, a black-clothed figure held a golden scepter. Surging golden torrents were being continuously absorbed into the scepter!
"Seeking death?"
A killing intent flashed in Nyx's eyes. Her form dissolved into a streak of night, rapidly rushing toward the figure wielding the Royal Scepter!
At that moment, a palm shrouded in Buddhist light forcefully tore through the night, intercepting Nyx mid-air.
Vishnu's form was like a mountain. His two faces alternated continuously. Even though divine power was similarly draining from his body toward the scepter, he showed no intention of stopping. Instead, he was determined to block Nyx's path.
"What are you doing?" Nyx said grimly. "If you don't stop that artifact, not only me—your divine power will be drained too!"
"Drained? So what?" Vishnu sneered. "I can't beat you in a fair fight. But if we both lose our divine power, you think I'd be afraid of you?"
Golden luster flowed across Vishnu's skin surface. Gods from Indian temples all cultivated their physical bodies. Even without divine power, their combat prowess was formidable. Nyx's strength, however, came mainly from laws and abilities. Without those, in terms of physical body strength, she was no match for Vishnu.
"Without divine power, both of us will become targets for that Cthulhu Faction god to hunt!"
"Is that so?"
Vishnu coldly smiled and turned to ask, "Key to the Gate, am I also one of your hunting targets?"
"No." An Qingyu replied calmly. "The Cthulhu Faction doesn't hunt its own allies."
Upon hearing this, Nyx's heart sank.
"When did you two join hands?"
"Hehe." Vishnu smiled but said nothing.
At the very beginning of this divine battle, Vishnu had heard An Qingyu's voice. At that time, he was at a disadvantage. An Qingyu had used just a few words to completely convince Vishnu to form an alliance with him.
The method An Qingyu used was simple—he objectively laid out the current situation on Earth, including Human Apex Zhou Ping, the Black Goat, and the existence of the Key to the Gate above the river of time.
Only then did Vishnu realize he had been completely kept in the dark by Number 22.
Sole Supreme God?
What a joke?!
Setting aside whether he could withstand a single strike from Zhou Ping, just the Black Goat alone could crush him utterly without any chance of resistance. Between the Great Xia and Cthulhu Faction powers, the so-called Divine Desire Paradise was nothing more than a small faction that could be uprooted at any moment. If he truly believed Number 22's nonsense, he would inevitably become Divine Desire Paradise's shield, struggling between two major forces.
Compared to that, it was better to directly ally with the demonstrably stronger Cthulhu Faction. At least he wouldn't have to worry about becoming a vengeful dog everyone wanted to hunt again, like before.
"Allying with a Cthulhu Faction god... aren't you afraid of dying without a burial place?" Nyx said grimly.
"What choice do I have? Ally with Great Xia? Do you think there's any room for reconciliation between me and Great Xia?" Vishnu sneered. "That cheap adopted son of mine taught me a truth—sometimes, appropriate concessions can exchange for greater benefits... Now that the temple of the gods has been destroyed, standing alone in this chaotic situation, my circumstances aren't really any different from that cheap adopted son.
Even if we go to extremes—even if I lose all divine power—if the Key to the Gate dares to go back on his word, I can forcefully leave here relying on my physical strength. Since that's the case, why not give it a try?"
Hearing this, Nyx knew Vishnu was set on helping the Cthulhu Faction. She decided to try directly bypassing him and charging at An Qingyu.
But Vishnu was like sticky paper, firmly clinging to her. He wouldn't engage her in direct combat—he just hard-camped, buying time.
As more and more divine power poured into the Royal Scepter, Nyx's divine power gradually ran dry. A sense of weakness washed over her entire body, and her movements visibly slowed.
When the last thread of divine power drifted out of her body, Nyx's form was forced to descend to the ground. Her starlight纱罗裙 had already lost all its luster.
Gripping Ame-no-Murakumo, she warily watched the sneering Vishnu and the distant An Qingyu, her expression extremely grave.
After continuously draining two Supreme Gods' worth of divine power, the Royal Scepter's surface had become dazzlingly radiant, like a sun burning fiercely, held in An Qingyu's hand.
"This amount should be about right." An Qingyu murmured to himself.
He raised the blindingly bright Royal Scepter and violently struck it into the earth!
As the scepter's base pierced the ground, surging divine power, under An Qingyu's control, extended in all directions along some mysterious pattern, covering the entire land. It even continued spreading toward the shattered light orb suspended in the sky.
Nyx frowned as she watched the flickering divine power patterns around her. A hint of confusion appeared in her eyes.
"Spatial fluctuations are involved... What is this?"
As these patterns completely covered the entire world beyond the gate, the surrounding space violently trembled. With a thunderous roar, everyone felt their vision blur and found themselves directly back on the time fragment strewn with giant rocks.
The remnants of the Gate of Truth that had stood before them had vanished without a trace.
