# Chapter 1483: Brahma's Betrayal
"Do you still not understand? Your speed means nothing to me."
Kronos leaned on his cane, tapping it lightly on the ground. A ripple of time spread outward, and Zeus, who had been flying into the air, was struck as if by a heavy blow, stumbling and crashing into the cliff face.
Though injured repeatedly, Zeus's robust, iron-like physique was not for show. Moreover, Kronos had been holding back, so his injuries weren't too severe. Blazing fury burned in his eyes as he unleashed a black thunderbolt imbued with destructive power, descending like a sword of judgment toward Kronos's head!
Kronos's form blurred, vanishing from the spot instantly. The black thunder pierced through the mountainside, evaporating all soil and sea water below in an instant.
The next moment, a cane came crashing down on Zeus's crown!
Zeus's pupils contracted sharply. He barely dodged, transforming into lightning and retreating several miles. His expression turned grimly ashen.
If that cane had connected, his consciousness would have been instantly shattered, and Kronos would have simply dragged him away to be imprisoned...
Though both were Supreme Gods, even among Supreme Gods there were hierarchies. Zeus knew full well that with his own strength, victory over Kronos was nearly impossible. After all, the latter was a terrifying existence whose combat power approached Michael's!
A sharp gleam flashed in Zeus's eyes. He turned toward a distant valley and bellowed:
"Brahma!! If you're not going to act now, what are you waiting for?!"
After a brief silence, the distant valley shuddered violently. A massive four-faced Buddha statue rose slowly from the ground. As its four pairs of eyes opened slightly, everything around it flickered between reality and illusion, appearing infinitely mysterious.
Long before Kronos had entered Olympus, Brahma had already sensed his presence. However, caught in this family drama between father and son, Brahma naturally wanted to put as much distance between himself and the situation as possible. He had completely sealed away his presence.
Now that Zeus had called him out, though deeply reluctant, Brahma had no choice but to act.
Kronos did not seem surprised by Brahma's appearance. Those eyes, with their flowing rings of time, swept over him casually. "Brahma, are you certain... you want to be my enemy?"
The laws of time surged forth, enveloping Brahma's form. Feeling the sharp killing intent in those eyes, Brahma hesitated, his form freezing momentarily.
It wasn't that Brahma feared Kronos in a straight fight. However, he was still injured, and against Kronos's laws of time, he wouldn't gain any advantage. His injuries might even worsen...
"Brahma, what are you waiting for? Have you forgotten our agreement?" Zeus, seeing Brahma's hesitation, immediately pressed.
"Your injuries should have been left by the Heavenly Court, correct?" Kronos spoke calmly. "Once I subdue this unfilial son, you may continue recovering in my Olympus. When you've healed, you're free to stay or leave—I won't interfere, nor will I force you to do anything... If necessary, I can even speak on your behalf to Great Xia.
What do you say to that?"
Hearing these words, Brahma immediately felt tempted.
Zeus could offer him protection, but that was merely utilizing his combat strength to bargain with other forces. However, Kronos could provide the same treatment, and without demanding any payment in return!
Brahma understood Zeus's attitude toward him perfectly. From the depths of his heart, he恨不得将Zeus碎尸万段—wished to tear Zeus to pieces. How could he真心想帮他—genuinely want to help him? Now that there was a better option, why would he still stand on Zeus's side?
Compared to Zeus, Brahma trusted this old god-king, Kronos, far more.
"Very well." Brahma hesitated for only a moment before nodding, retreating back to his valley.
Watching his hard-earned "ally" be so easily swayed to the other side, Zeus's eyes blazed with rage. His chest heaved剧烈起伏, and intense killing intent surged through him!
"Brahma...!!" He ground his teeth and growled!
Their relationship had always had its fractures, but for Brahma to openly choose to betray him now was like trampling Zeus's dignity underfoot.
"Since you refuse to go to the cliff to reflect on your own, then... don't blame me for burying you beneath the mountain." Kronos had resolved the Brahma situation effortlessly, and now turned his gaze back to Zeus, speaking as casually as if discussing the weather.
Feeling that terrifying law of time, Zeus's expression turned utterly grim. He gritted his teeth, as if having made some terrible decision, and spun around to flee toward the sky!
The moment he moved, ten thousand bolts of lightning roared down from the clouds, blanketing the entire mountain peak. Kronos frowned, tapping his cane against the ground once more, freezing all those thunderbolts suspended in the air.
In that brief instant, Zeus—having transformed into lightning—flew hundreds of kilometers away, vanishing beyond the horizon. But to Kronos, this was nothing.
"Protect the Sacred Peak. I'll return shortly." Kronos spoke to the surrounding Chief Gods before his form disappeared.
The next moment, he appeared directly above the fleeing Zeus!
Zeus couldn't see how he had arrived. It was as if Kronos had been waiting there all along. That cane struck precisely at Zeus's back, the terrifying force sending him plummeting from the sky and crashing into the ocean!
"These past hundred years, your wings have indeed grown stiff..." Kronos leaned on his cane, gazing at the lightning-churning ocean, speaking calmly. "Today, I shall teach you a proper lesson."
Zeus did not burst from the sea. Instead, he moved like a coiling serpent of lightning, streaking through the ocean depths in an instant. Dense bolts of lightning dyed the entire sea a surging deep blue!
Kronos vanished from the spot once more.
The two figures began their chase from Olympus, relentless and unceasing. No matter what method Zeus employed, no matter how great his speed, Kronos always appeared beside him the next instant, delivering devastating blows.
Even so, Kronos was not killing intent. Zeus was, after all, his child and also a Supreme God of Olympus, so Kronos had deliberately held back.
Zeus fled for who knows how long. Covered in blood, he crashed through a desolate island, standing狼狈 on a boulder about to sink, gasping heavily.
His body was approaching its limit.
This old man... he was practically on his deathbed already, how was he still so strong?!
"You cannot escape anymore. Come back to Olympus with me." Kronos leaned on his cane, walking toward him slowly.
Zeus's expression was grim beyond words. Just then, a voice drifted from behind him:
"Is that so?"
The moment that voice appeared, Kronos's eyes narrowed. Behind Zeus, a figure of an angel with six black wings descended slowly from the sky, gazing at Kronos with a hint of mockery.
"The one who cannot escape... should be you, no?"
"Lucifer..." Kronos coldly snorted, about to speak further when his expression suddenly changed!
It was as if he had sensed something. He猛地抬头—lifted his head sharply to look at the sky. Through the churning mist, a mass of black tentacles writhing like dark clouds had silently appeared above him.
