Chapter 1481: Kronos's Lesson
The Olympian Gods present seemed to sense something, abruptly turning to look toward the direction below the mountain. Their eyes were filled with shock!
"It's the old King of Gods!!"
"The old King of Gods has actually returned?"
"Ever since the Mist descended over a hundred years ago, he never returned to Olympus... Why is he returning now?"
"At such a critical moment too..."
"..."
As the gods murmured among themselves, Zeus's expression turned grim. He stared toward the direction below the mountain, light flickering in the depths of his eyes, as if lost in thought.
"Greetings, old King of..."
The Olympian Gods felt the supreme aura drawing near and respectfully tried to bow in greeting, but before they could finish speaking, their bodies suddenly froze, completely paralyzed within time itself!
At this moment, all the Chief Gods gathered at the summit of Mount Olympus were staring toward the direction below the mountain, like statues, utterly motionless.
Tap, tap, tap...
To the sound of footsteps, an elderly man in black appeared ghostlike at the summit, his hands resting on a cane. The brilliant River of Time flowed within his eyes, intertwining into a circular ring with no beginning or end. Beneath the mystery, an unprecedented fury gushed forth!
With a single move, he halted the flow of time for all the Chief Gods. The only one who could move freely within his domain was Zeus.
Zeus gazed at the figure of the elderly man in black, his expression shifting between gloomy and uncertain. After a moment of hesitation, he finally spoke in a low voice:
"Father..."
Whoosh—!
BOOM—!!!
Before Zeus could finish speaking, his body was struck as if by a heavy cane, his entire form sent flying backward!
Zeus' tall, sturdy body shot through the air like a cannonball,掠过黄金圣座, instantly shattering a mountain peak into pieces with a deafening roar!
Throughout this entire process, Kronos never moved from his original position. He simply stood there quietly, gentle ripples of time undulating around him, as if someone had reached from the past to deliver a heavy blow to Zeus.
His gloomy face showed no change as he watched Zeus's flying form.
Zeus' body crashed through several mountain peaks before being deeply embedded into a boulder. As dust filled the air, he slowly raised his head, his expression extremely unpleasant.
"Father, you..."
He had barely opened his mouth when the surrounding time began to flow backward in an eerie manner. His body drifted back through the shattered mountains, forced to return to the mountain summit before the Golden Throne. By the time he regained his bearings, he stood once again before the elderly man in black!
At the same time, a cane struck his chest heavily. A terrifying force surged from within the cane, propelling his body through the air, whistling as it slammed into the back of the Golden Throne!
The cane pressed against Zeus' chest, causing fine web-like cracks to spread across the back of the Golden Throne. Those furious eyes of the Time God stared at Zeus, and the terrifying supreme god's might pressed down upon his heart like a crushing weight!
"Do you know what you're doing?" Kronos demanded in a low voice.
Zeus gritted his teeth. More and more cracks spread across the Golden Throne as he forcibly resisted Kronos' power, speaking hoarsely, "Father, everything I did was for Olympus... Now Olympus has become the only divine kingdom in the world. Give me a little more time, and I will spread Olympus' believers across the world!"
"Idiot!" Kronos roared in anger. "Has your brain been replaced with muscle?! How dare you entangle yourself with those things from the Cthulhu Mythos?! Do you even know what they are?!
I've grown old, so I passed the throne to you, letting you lead Olympus to glory... And what do you do? You're leading this divine kingdom toward the abyss!
How you deal with Nyx internally, how you fight for power, how you deal with other divine kingdoms—none of that is my concern. But getting involved with those things? That's seeking death!!"
Zeus seemed to have been provoked as well. His inherently violent temperament was like a lit powder keg, dense bolts of lightning crackling around him.
"They're nothing but mythological remnants crawling out of ruins... Once I have enough believers, I can kill them all!" Zeus shouted in a low voice. "If you want to become the sole winner in the end, how can you avoid taking risks?"
"Kill them? Over a hundred years ago, a single reviving Key to the Gate transformed into the Mist and nearly drove all life on Earth to extinction. When the Three Pillars are fully awakened, destroying Olympus would be as easy as a single thought! What makes you think you can kill them?!
Do you think you're stronger than Yerandi was back then?!"
Kronos was truly enraged. He threw a punch at the bridge of Zeus' nose, the terrifying force instantly leaving Zeus' mind completely blank.
Crimson blood trickled down. As Zeus' eyes gradually cleared, Kronos' resigned voice continued:
"When we went to the Moon to seal the Cthulhu gods, you hadn't yet become supreme, and you didn't participate. So I can understand you not knowing their terror... This time, you must rein in your arrogant nature."
He moved his cane away from Zeus' chest. The latter's body dropped from mid-air to the ground, breathing heavily.
Kronos glanced at him, his aged voice slowly sounding:
"From now on, I will take back control of Olympus. You will reflect on your actions on the cliff face."
As Kronos finished speaking, he turned and walked away toward the distance. The numerous Chief Gods who had been frozen in time finally regained their freedom, looking around in confusion at the devastation, unsure of what had happened.
Zeus sat狼狈地 on the Golden Throne, his eyes staring fixedly at the departing elderly figure. An unprecedented fury rose in his heart.
He slowly stood up. A massive bolt of lightning descended from the clouds, striking him precisely. The surging Thunder Laws instantly filled every corner of the mountain peak!
"I'm sorry, Father." Zeus wiped the blood from his face. His robust figure stood in the sea of thunder, radiating a terrifying aura. His eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke calmly, "You've grown old... Olympus, I'll handle it from here."
Feeling the chilling killing intent from behind, Kronos' footsteps halted. Halfway down the mountain, he turned to look back toward the peak. Those ancient eyes first showed bewilderment, then profound disappointment...
"You... intend to patricide?" Kronos shook his head. "Even though I've grown old, do you really think you can kill me?"
Zeus stood at the mountain summit. The terrifying might of the Supreme God forced all the Chief Gods nearby to retreat. Unless they had lost their minds, they would never voluntarily involve themselves in this mess.
Zeus clenched his fists tightly. Gazing down at the elderly man in black on the mountainside, he stomped heavily on the ground, his body shooting forward like lightning!
