Chapter 1462: Zeus Descends
"What's that red light?" Lin Qiye asked.
"It's a signal from the Great Xia gods keeping watch outside the mist." Sun Wukong said in a deep voice. "When this signal appears, it means the Olympian Gods have arrived near Great Xia's waters... and the direction of attack is right here."
"They know we're stationed in this direction yet came straight here. It seems they're determined to take advantage of our injuries and destroy the entire Heavenly Court in one strike." Nezha, stepping on his Wind-Fire Wheels, descended slowly beside Lin Qiye.
"You're Lin Qiye, right? I'm Nezha. I've heard about you from Yang Jian and Monkey."
"Long time no see." Lin Qiye smiled.
"?" Nezha was stunned. "Have we met before?"
As they spoke, the mist wall covering the border churned violently, and several surges of divine power swept in from the distance!
"They're arriving." Sun Wukong gripped his Ruyi Jingu Bang, golden light flickering in his eyes. "You won't make it back to Chennan Pass now... Nezha, protect Lin Qiye when the battle starts."
"Understood." Nezha nodded firmly.
Lin Qiye gazed upward at the churning mist wall as terrifying divine silhouettes emerged from within. Unlike the majestic descent of the gods from the Heavenly Temple, the Olympian Gods appeared silently, like the calm before a thunderstorm.
CRACK—!!
A massive pale bolt of lightning tore through the mist, revealing an elderly figure standing in the void. His upper body bare, muscles rippling with explosive power, he held a golden scepter crackling with lightning, radiating absolute supremacy. A Supreme God's pressure suddenly descended!
At such close range, this Supreme God pressure pressed down on Lin Qiye's heart, filling him with an indescribable sense of oppression. He stared at this figure wreathed in thunder and murmured to himself:
"The King of Olympian Gods... Zeus."
Behind Zeus, seven divine figures flew through the gap torn by the lightning. Some walked upon sea waves, others carried burning suns, still others had transformed into flames... Among the legendary twelve Chief Gods of Olympus, seven had manifested directly for this battle.
Following them came countless Lesser Gods. Though their numbers were only about two-thirds of the Heavenly Temple gods who had recently descended, they represented an overwhelming advantage compared to the current state of Great Xia. Had Nyx not taken away some of the gods, the Olympian forces here would have been even larger.
At the mist frontier, the other Great Xia deities rose into the sky one after another. Undeterred by this majestic divine might, they released waves of divine power, their gazes sharp and resolute.
"So they're really the Olympian Gods..." Above the outer wall, a Night Watch soldier turned pale at the sight. "This is bad. The Great Xia gods already suffered serious injuries defeating the Heavenly Temple deities. How can we possibly fight this?"
"There's still hope. They only have seven Chief Gods while we probably still have around ten Great Xia gods, plus several Human Apex fighters... Even with injuries, our numbers should make up for some of the disadvantage."
"And what about Zeus? Neither of the two Heavenly Venerables are here. Who can stop that Supreme God?"
The other Night Watch guard opened his mouth, but could find no words.
Molly stood at the front of the Chennan Pass outer wall, her broad blade on her back, her eyes still tinged with red as she gazed at the distant divine silhouettes with grim determination.
At the mist border, Zeus positioned himself before the Olympian Gods. His majestic gaze swept across the Great Xia deities before him as he slowly raised his golden scepter and struck it forcefully against the empty space below!
BOOM—!!!
A muffled roar like thunder shattered the heavens. The earth beneath their feet cracked and crumbled, and a ghastly fissure several kilometers wide ripped across the ground, surging forward like a ravenous beast!
That single strike from the golden scepter served as a signal. The Olympian Gods behind Zeus surged forward simultaneously, their killing intent blazing toward the sky!
"Today, the Heavenly Court falls." Zeus spoke calmly.
No unnecessary words. Since the Olympian Gods had come this far, no justification was needed. Zeus tore open the last shred of diplomatic possibility between divine realms, exposing his savage ambition.
As his words fell, the seven Olympian Chief Gods and the horde of Lesser Gods descended like a catastrophic wave. Their target wasn't the distant Chennan Pass itself, but all the Great Xia deities before them!
Unlike the Indian gods, the Greek deities had never intended to invade Great Xia's territory from the start. Their sole objective was the complete annihilation of Great Xia's divine pantheon! If all Great Xia deities perished and the Heavenly Court withered, Olympus would become the sole divine realm in existence!
A pagoda surged into the sky and crashed down before the extending fissure, its divine power churning as it shattered the forces contained within the crack. The collision's aftershocks carved a furrow stretching thousands of miles, lifting the entire battlefield's ground by hundreds of meters!
Above the Great Xia gods, a majestic figure in golden imperial robes appeared alongside a beautiful woman in flowing purple-gold embroidered robes. The Jade Emperor held the Haotian Pagoda while the Queen Mother of the West grasped the Kunlun Mirror. Two peak Chief God auras intertwined with their divine artifacts, forcibly resisting Zeus's Supreme God pressure!
Zeus observed these two figures, his eyes narrowing slightly...
The Jade Emperor met Zeus's gaze without any change in expression. He parted his lips, and his commanding voice resonated through heaven and earth:
"Let all gods of the Heavenly Court hear this: engage in battle!"
The Great Xia deities gripped their respective treasures and charged directly into the sea of Olympian Gods. They had reached a point of no return—if they lost this battle, Great Xia would fall completely into Olympus's hands.
Simultaneously, several streaks of light shot out from distant Chennan Pass toward the divine battlefield.
Zuo Qing, his body still wrapped in bandages; Master Chen, his carriage damaged; Guan Zai, his eyes circled with dark rings; Wang Mian, his white hair disheveled... Several Human Apex fighters, though injured and lacking methods to slay gods, represented crucial combat power for Great Xia's current struggle.
"Merely defeated remnants..." Sun Wukong shouldered his Ruyi Jingu Bang, his gaze sweeping across one of the Chief Gods as he coldly smiled. "Was the lesson we taught you last time not severe enough?"
"Our previous invasion merely bought time for Loki—we never anticipated his incompetence." Ares, the god of war, replied coolly. "This time... victory's scales will tip in our favor."
