Chapter 1342: Leave the Future
Skuld lowered her head, staring at her own hands, frozen in place.
When Verdandi and Urd witnessed this scene, their expressions immediately darkened.
"It seems fate has made the choice for you." Odin spoke calmly. "From this moment you stand here, you... have no future left."
Verdandi gritted her teeth, gripping the spear in her hand tightly, and thrust it together with her "past" self toward the central black hole. Two terrifying pillars of divine light surged toward the heavens, barely tearing it apart. The surrounding space twisted continuously. They seized Skuld and vanished, teleporting several kilometers away in an instant.
"Sister..." Skuld stood behind the two of them, her eyes already crimson red, her lips trembling uncontrollably.
"Don't be afraid, Skuld." Verdandi's gaze softened. She stroked Skuld's hair and spoke gently, "Listen to sister... when we start fighting, you run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. No matter what you see or hear, don't worry about it, understand?"
"I won't go." Skuld shook her head forcefully. "I don't want to leave you, sister!"
"Skuld!" Urd's voice turned stern. "This isn't the time to be stubborn. The three of us cannot all die here... You are our 'future.' Even if we die, you must survive.
Only by surviving does everything we're doing now have any meaning, understand?"
Skuld opened her mouth, as if wanting to say something more, but seeing the hopeful gaze in Urd's eyes, she swallowed her words back.
"Ragnarök is already inevitable. Asgard will most likely not escape this disaster." Verdandi spoke helplessly. "After you leave, go find Lin Qiye. He needs your God's Ruins and won't just leave you alone... That way, no matter what happens to Asgard, the Great Xia deity will keep you safe."
"Sister..." Skuld's tears flowed uncontrollably.
"Go!"
Verdandi took a deep breath, then turned to look at the approaching Odin. That crimson insect eye writhed within its socket, eerie and诡异.
Verdandi and Urd exchanged a glance. All their divine power erupted simultaneously. Their figures transformed into two stunning afterimages, charging directly toward Odin. The earth and debris around them were shattered by the residual waves they generated, scattering through the air like fragments...
Skuld stood frozen, watching this scene unfold. Her fingernails dug deep into her palms. Her body trembled constantly.
After a moment, she gritted her teeth, pressed both feet against the ground, and sprinted toward the direction opposite the battlefield!
Seeing Skuld flee, Verdandi's expression finally relaxed somewhat. With no more concerns, her eyes fixed on the approaching Odin. Her pupils blazed with fierce battle intent!
"Odin, come fight me!!"
...
Asgard.
Elsewhere.
The temple ruins submerged the streets. A figure stepped over the scattered stones, looking around in a daze.
The originally grand and majestic temple complex was now in ruins. Everywhere the eye could see was wreckage. It was as if this dead world now contained only him alone.
"This is..." Bragi frowned tightly, his eyes full of confusion.
He knew Asgard had encountered some great catastrophe, but he never expected things to be this severe.
As Bragi walked alone, a figure stumbled out of the ruins. From a distance, one could vaguely make out a human shape, though its body surface was covered with massive tumors, looking like a grotesque and disgusting monster.
This sudden appearance startled Bragi.
He grabbed the harp behind his back, staring at the monster, nervously swallowing a mouthful of saliva.
Don't come over, don't come over, don't come over... Bragi prayed silently in his heart, backing away step by step.
As the god of music, Bragi had almost zero combat abilities. With this very clear self-awareness, he instinctively avoided any conflict with any existence... Moreover, this monster's appearance was too bizarre. It clearly didn't look like something that should appear in Asgard. It was likely the very "disaster" Urd had mentioned.
"Bragi...?"
Just as Bragi continued retreating, even preparing to turn and run, the monster actually spoke with a whimper, calling out Bragi's name.
Bragi froze, stopping his retreat. He squinted, carefully examining the stumbling monster...
"Vili?"
Seeing the monster's appearance clearly, Bragi exclaimed, "How is this possible?"
This tumor-covered monster, Bragi was very familiar with. They had known each other for years in Asgard. Though their relationship wasn't particularly close, they could still be considered friends.
Now seeing his former acquaintance in such a state, Bragi couldn't hide the shock in his heart. He stepped forward to support the other person, couldn't help but ask, "How did you become like this?"
Swarms of crimson insect eyes writhed on Vili's body surface. Looking at it made Bragi's scalp go numb. He grabbed Bragi's wrist, speaking unclearly: "Kill me... quick... kill me..."
Bragi stood frozen.
Just then, Vili's tumorous right hand covered in insect eyes suddenly lifted, grabbing toward Bragi's throat like an iron钳子!
Bragi's pupils contracted sharply. Without thinking, he leaped backward like lightning. His figure actually left a phantom image on the spot, instantly retreating hundreds of meters.
Vili's right hand grabbed only empty air.
This speed even startled Bragi himself. He stood there bewildered, looking down at his own legs, speaking confusedly:
"Weird... when did I become so fast?"
Bragi himself wasn't aware that after Idun's law completely merged with him, the doubled Chief God-level divine power had already broken through the barrier of a conventional Chief God... Now, he was a dual deity of music and vitality combined.
"Kill me... Bragi..." Vili's tumorous right hand twisted at an eerie angle in the air. He turned his stiff head. Those eyes full of blood vessels reflected unbearable pain.
"Their voices... They're driving me insane! Kill me!"
Countless tiny crimson worms across Vili's body writhed rapidly, letting out a beast-like roar. Then, with astonishing speed, they flew toward Bragi!
