# 1242
Chapter 1243: Escape
Gilgamesh glanced at the moon god Nanna's corpse, then turned to look at another section of the battlefield.
A golden-red rod struck the ground like lightning, sending countless yellow sands soaring into the air. When the dust finally settled, the fire god Pabilsag's body lay bloodied and mangled in a deep crevice.
Sun Wukong held the Ruyi Jingu Bang in his hand as he slowly walked out of the dust, his expression somewhat displeased.
"This time…" Gilgamesh said calmly.
"You win." Sun Wukong glanced at Nanna's body, his tone indifferent. "Looks like at your peak, you really were impressive… Get well soon. Let's have a proper fight."
With that, he hoisted the Ruyi Jingu Bang onto his shoulder and turned to walk in another direction.
Gilgamesh watched Sun Wukong's departing figure and suddenly called out:
"Sun Wukong."
Sun Wukong stopped in his tracks and looked back.
"Speak."
Gilgamesh fell silent for a moment. "Thank you."
Sun Wukong said nothing, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"If not for you, my people would have been massacred." Gilgamesh paused. "Thank you for saving my Uruk, and for saving me."
"Hmph." Sun Wukong shouldered the Ruyi Jingu Bang and turned to continue walking into the distance.
"Little thing. Don't mention it."
After taking two steps, he seemed to sense something and looked up at the crack in the treasury in the sky.
"Divine power fluctuation… there's still a god outside?" Gilgamesh also sensed the anomaly in the outside world, his brow furrowing slightly. "More than one, in fact."
"Six divine power signatures in total." A golden gleam flickered in Sun Wukong's eyes. "Looks like someone wants to play the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind."
"Six?"
Lin Qiye, who had just arrived, heard this and frowned in confusion. "03 and 04 should only have two people. Where did the other four come from?"
Sun Wukong gripped the Ruyi Jingu Bang, his golden eyes narrowing. He turned to look at Lin Qiye.
"What do you think, Lin Qiye? Do we fight or run?"
Lin Qiye glanced at the [Star Coin] beside him, whose rotation was about to cease, and fell into contemplation.
If Sun Wukong and Gilgamesh were both at their peak, breaking through the encirclement wouldn't be difficult. But things were different now. Even if Gilgamesh understood his past self better and could extend the duration of the memory projection, once the [Star Coin] stopped rotating, he would still be forced to return to his soul state.
And no matter how strong Sun Wukong was, he couldn't fight six opponents alone.
Fighting was definitely not an option. Even how to escape from here required careful planning.
Lin Qiye considered for a moment, then spoke: "I have an idea…"
…
Fog.
The surging divine powers gradually subsided, and dense water droplets fell from the sky. A long sword was already pressed against 03's neck.
The one-armed war god Tyr squinted at the grim-faced 03 before him. Beside him, 04 had already been seized directly by the blind god Hodr, who gripped his throat.
Two against four—03 and 04 had absolutely no chance. They could only be easily captured by the Norse Gods and brought to their knees.
"There's movement inside the shell. The King's Treasury should be about to emerge." Freyr, god of the forest, stared intently at the constantly trembling royal turtle and said in a low voice.
Thor walked up to 22, his deep blue eyes seeming to want to see through his thoughts. "You just said there are Sumerian gods inside?"
"That's right." Having witnessed the power of the Norse Gods with his own eyes, 22 had no intention of resisting. He nodded and said, "They revived Gilgamesh to control this treasury."
When 22 fled the battlefield, the three Sumerian gods had just revived Gilgamesh's corpse. He knew nothing of Sun Wukong's emergence or the appearance of the second King of Heroes—only that several terrifying divine powers had clashed, as if a great battle had occurred.
Gilgamesh?
Upon hearing this name, a flash of surprise appeared in Thor's eyes.
Just then, the royal turtle shuddered violently once more. Its massive body churned tsunamis across the sea, and the surrounding waters churned like boiling soup.
The four Norse Gods' gazes simultaneously fixed on the gap in the turtle's shell.
A streak of purple light shot into the sky, transforming into a figure clad in a gray-gold royal robe, wearing a crown.
The terrifying [King] Authority descended upon the world. In his hand, a miniature, shattered treasury rotated silently.
"The King's Treasury?"
"Gilgamesh?"
The four Norse Gods, along with the two captured Olympian gods, gasped in unison at the sight.
"The ancient King of Heroes… was actually revived?" Thor sensed the aura of the [King] Authority, his brow creasing tightly.
The King's Treasury had always been the artifact of the King of Heroes. Now that King Gilgamesh was revived, the treasury naturally returned to his hands, and only the [King] Authority could activate it.
Gilgamesh clutched the King's Treasury and glanced at the six gods, his purple eyes narrowing slightly.
"What… do you think you're doing?"
Thor remained silent for a moment before speaking first.
"May I ask if you are indeed King of Heroes Gilgamesh?"
"It is I, the King."
Gilgamesh's deep voice echoed through the air.
"I heard that three Sumerian gods wanted to seize the King's Treasury?" Thor continued, probing further. "Where are they?"
"Dead." Gilgamesh's tone was indifferent. "They dared to attempt controlling my body… I activated the treasury and slew them all."
War god Tyr heard this and raised an eyebrow. Glancing at the damaged King's Treasury in Gilgamesh's palm, he shot Thor a meaningful look.
The gist of it was: Gilgamesh was alone. They might as well strike directly and snatch the treasury from him.
Thor gave him no response. After long contemplation, he finally nodded to Gilgamesh and said:
"The four of us were merely passing through. We meant no offense."
This caught the other three Norse Gods off guard. Before they could react, Thor transformed into a bolt of lightning and swiftly flew into the distance.
They stood frozen for a long moment before finally leading their captives, 03 and 04, and following after him.
Watching these figures vanish beyond the horizon, a look of surprise crossed Gilgamesh's face.
"They actually just left like that?" Lin Qiye's puzzled voice came from the other side of the turtle, where he had quietly slipped into the sea.
In his plan, the moment Gilgamesh appeared, those gods would strike to seize the King's Treasury. Meanwhile, he and Sun Wukong could slip away unnoticed. Once the [Star Coin]'s duration expired, Gilgamesh could spirit away by turning incorporeal and return to the Asylum of the Gods.
But he never expected those Norse Gods to simply exchange a few words with Gilgamesh and leave directly.
Was Gilgamesh's deterrent force really that formidable?
Or did they have some other plan in mind?
Just as Lin Qiye was lost in confusion, the counterclockwise-rotating [Star Coin] gradually ground to a halt, then began spinning clockwise.
The memory projection's time had ended. In the sky, Gilgamesh dissolved into scattered motes of light and vanished. A soul form drifted through space and directly returned to the Asylum of the Gods in Lin Qiye's mind.
Lin Qiye cast one final glance toward where the four Norse Gods had departed, then summoned the Somersault Cloud and darted away with Sun Wukong in the opposite direction!
