Chapter 1241: The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, Unaware of the Oriole Behind

Number 03 pondered for a moment but still couldn't figure out the answer.

Regardless, since the King's Treasury had manifested abnormal activity, it meant some kind of change had indeed occurred inside, which could very well become an opportunity for them to take control of the King's Treasury.

Number 03 and Number 04 exchanged a glance, then swiftly descended toward the King Turtle below.

"Someone?"

Number 04's eyes narrowed, sharply catching sight of a bloodied figure stumbling out from the gaps in the King Turtle's shell, as if trying to dive directly into the sea.

"One of the proxies I sent in." Number 03 recognized Number 22 immediately, speaking in surprise, "It's about time for the Mark to activate, yet he actually didn't die?"

"He should know what happened inside the Treasury. Grab him and ask."

The two gods transformed into streams of divine light, flashing toward Number 22 in an instant.

Number 22, who had just escaped with his life, watched the two streams of divine power rushing toward him, and his expression immediately darkened.

He'd already surpassed the three-day deadline—why were these two still waiting outside?

Number 22 cursed inwardly, instinctively wanting to smash the Royal Scepter down, but after hesitation, he tucked it into his chest and concealed it with his clothing.

Number 22 was clear-headed. While the King's Scepter could indeed drain the divine power of two gods, even gods without divine power could effortlessly crush a heavily injured human. Acting hastily with the Scepter wouldn't help him escape—it would only provoke their killing intent.

However, his movements were still witnessed by the two gods.

Number 03 landed in front of Number 22, eyes scanning his body. "You actually managed to emerge unscathed... How did you break free from my Mark? And what are you hiding in your chest?"

Number 22's heart lurched.

His mind raced. Just as he was about to speak, another series of explosions erupted from beneath the King Turtle's shell!

Number 03 and Number 04's attention was instantly drawn away.

"Who else is in there?" Number 03 frowned.

"...There are three more Sumerian gods!" Number 22's question was deflected. "They'd been hiding in the Treasury all along, secretly recovering their strength—and now they're the ones controlling the King's Treasury!"

Upon hearing this, the expressions of the two gods shifted. "Sumerian gods? Weren't they supposed to have vanished long ago?"

Number 03 hesitated briefly, then turned to Number 04. "You keep watch outside. I'll try to go in and take a look. We absolutely cannot let them obtain the Treasury!"

At that moment, a voice drifted down from the sky:

"The King's Treasury, and two Olympian Chief Gods... Si Xiaonan's intel was spot on."

Number 03 and Number 04, who had been about to enter the King Turtle, pupils contracted sharply as they looked up toward the sky.

Above the sea's surface, four divine figures emerged slowly from the mist. The speaker was a blonde man draped in a red cloak, holding a silver hammer.

"Thor, the God of Thunder?" Number 03 recognized the figure immediately. His gaze swept across the other three, and his expression grew grimmer by the moment.

"Tyr, the God of War; Hodur, the Blind God; and Viðarr, God of the Forest... What are Asgard's people doing here?"

"If you could find this place, why couldn't we?" Tyr, the God of War, coldly replied.

The four Norse gods strode across the sea surface, positioning themselves directly before Number 03 and Number 04. Four divine auras descended upon them from above, each one no weaker than their own!

"They want the King's Treasury too. What do we do? Should we kill them?" Hodur, the Blind God, spoke indifferently.

As he spoke, a chilling killing intent coiled around the backs of Number 03 and Number 04 like venomous snakes. Their eyes narrowed, and their expressions grew increasingly grim.

From that completely unrestrained killing intent, they could clearly sense that Hodur, the Blind God, was serious.

He truly wanted to kill them!

"I think we can." Tyr, the God of War, continued, "These two are most likely acting on Zeus's orders, secretly searching for the King's Treasury... Otherwise, why would they dare to capture so many proxies in one go?

Since they're operating covertly, if we kill them here, no one would ever know. Even if Zeus wants to settle accounts later, he won't be able to trace it back to Asgard."

Upon hearing this analysis, Number 03's face paled. He coldly warned:

"What do you mean? Olympus and Asgard are allies! The war isn't over yet—would you really scheme against an ally in secret?"

Thor regarded them silently for a moment, then spoke slowly:

"There's no need to kill them. We just happen to be eyeing the same prize. Whoever gets it, gets it... Let's just restrain them for now."

As Thor finished speaking, the three Chief Gods beside him moved simultaneously, attacking Number 03 and Number 04 below.

Number 03 and Number 04, straining against the divine pressure of four gods, retreated repeatedly. But at this point, there was no choice but to fight.

Several streams of divine power collided against each other, and in an instant, a divine war erupted within the mist!

...

BANG—!!

As the King's Order of Doom unfurled, the Moon God Nanna's Moonlight Domain began to shake uncontrollably!

Gilgamesh, draped in his gray-gold royal robes and gripping a crimson sword, strode forward. The moonlight on both sides broke free from Nanna's control entirely, retreating like a tide toward either side.

He gazed at Nanna, whose face had gone ashen, and spoke calmly:

"Back then, even with all three of your Sumerian Chief Gods working together, you couldn't defeat this king. And you... are worthy to be called this king's opponent?"

He stamped forward heavily. The surrounding Moonlight Domain shattered inch by inch. Nanna, whose own God's Ruins had backfired against him, vomited a mouthful of blood and stumbled backward several steps.

Those furious eyes locked onto Gilgamesh as he growled:

"So what? No matter how powerful you were back then, you eventually died of old age, didn't you?

Do you think I can't see through you? You're nothing but a phantom of the past, summoned by someone's手段. How long can your projection even hold together?"

"Not long." Gilgamesh replied calmly. "But killing you? More than enough."

Gilgamesh transformed into a bolt of gray-gold lightning, instantly teleporting before Nanna!

The latter instinctively activated his God's Ruins. Endless moonlight surged from behind him, coalescing into a crescent moon held before him as a shield, attempting to block Gilgamesh's strike.

But with a single flick of Gilgamesh's fingers, the moonlight trembled violently, shattering into countless silk-like strands that circled around his person—almost like courtiers prostrating before an emperor.

"Before this king, even God's Ruins cannot withstand a single blow."

Gilgamesh's eyes turned cold. The crimson sword in his hand transformed into a streak of flowing fire, instantly slicing through the Moon God Nanna's neck!

In the next instant, a head filled with terror and resentment was sent flying high into the air, drifting amid the endless moonlight!
