Chapter 651: A Beauty to Die For
"Hee hee!" Another sound came from ahead. The group turned their guns around, only to find that the path they had walked had become an impossibly long corridor that didn't exist before. Lights flickered within it, and the rabbit doll's figure kept changing positions between light and dark, as if luring them forward.
"Damn rabbit!" One impatient player raised his gun, but just as he was about to fire, someone lifted the barrel, sending all the bullets into the ceiling.
"What are you doing!" Several nearby players simultaneously aimed their guns at Xu Huo, who had lifted the gun. The team leader even came over to pull off his mask, "Which group were you transferred from? Report your ID number!"
Xu Huo blocked his hand, "Forget that... Count how many people are here now."
The player at the back said, "Captain, the numbers match."
Players on missions were usually grouped together. Even if they were transferred from different groups, their identities would be known in advance. But today was different. To rescue the hostages, the Special Defense Department had arranged several players responsible for secret safe zone security. With uniforms and masks, they didn't fully know each other's faces, but the uniforms were unique and had special markings.
However, Xu Huo had stopped a teammate's action, and the captain now suspected an outsider had infiltrated the team.
"Are you sure the numbers match?" Xu Huo took out a lighting item. Strangely, under the light, the corridor returned to its previous state. A teammate was standing right in front of the gun barrel from earlier. Noticing the light, he turned back, "Captain?"
The captain's voice sank, "We've all been affected by an item interfering with our senses!"
With a "swish," all gun barrels aimed at Xu Huo.
"There's an extra person among us. Who are you? I've never heard of your item." The captain distanced himself from him, "When did you sneak in?"
"I'm also a Special Defense Department player, specially assigned by Team Leader Wu." Xu Huo said, "You can verify with him. Also, you can trust me. If I were a Y Country player, I wouldn't have saved someone just now. You didn't even know when I followed you. It would be easy for me to do whatever I wanted."
He was telling the truth, but the captain still signaled his teammates to verify Xu Huo's identity.
"Captain, communications are down." A teammate tried and said, "We've lost contact with the outside."
Xu Huo took a step back, "If you're really scared, I can act alone."
The captain weighed the options and then said, "You come with us, but you can't leave my sight, or I'll take action."
"No problem. I'm here to save people." Xu Huo agreed readily.
Under his lead, the group smoothly exited the cinema and went up to the third floor.
Meanwhile, the player who had escaped from the doll reached the ninth floor. This floor was all small rooms. He pushed open a small door with a skull hanging on it and said as he entered, "There's a pretty powerful player among the ones who just came in. He's not affected by my item and has strong mental strength."
Several players gathered around a box-shaped small table were playing cards. Among them, a bald man smoking a cigarette said, "Your tricks only work on some rookies. Players with a bit of experience won't fall for it. Don't underestimate the elites of the Special Defense Department."
The doll player took off his coat and joined the card game, "Just that one. The rest are nothing. The Special Defense Department just relies on numbers. Speaking of which, if you really thought those Special Defense Department guys were tough, you wouldn't be playing cards here."
The group laughed in varying tones. A man with a golden buzz cut and a scar on his lip interrupted them, "Leave the Special Defense Department to Tracy. Our target is Xu Huo... Has he arrived?"
"Thump, thump!" A knocking sound came from under the small table, and the tabletop shook with it.
"The cards are all messed up! Behave yourself, you little brat!" The older player in a hat was clumsily sorting his cards and kicked the box impatiently.
The table went quiet. The doll player then said, "The information says Xu Huo is good at using fire. None of the players who came in use fire."
"Fire is just one of his traits." The golden buzz cut said, "That information is outdated. As one of X Country's top players, he must have accumulated a certain number of high-level items. Bonn hasn't come back yet. He might already be dead. Xu Huo should be here soon."
As he spoke, he threw down his cards, "You guys watch the kid. I'll go take a look around."
The others waved dismissively. The golden buzz cut pulled open the door, passed through three secret rooms, confirmed the safety of nearby companions stationed around, then walked along the narrow corridor to other rooms. When he opened a combination lock, he suddenly felt a subtle airflow behind him!
As he turned, a pebble fell to the ground. A red arc of light bounced from under the golden buzz cut's feet, generating a protective shield that enveloped him while rapidly expanding outward, smashing the walls on both sides of the corridor and all the decorations in front and behind!
"What's going on?" A voice came through the earpiece. The golden buzz cut glanced at the white female ghost sticker fluttering to the ground, then turned and stepped into another room, "Nothing."
Once his footsteps faded away, the stacked sticker slowly floated up, slipped under the door crack, and entered the room he had just come from.
Players were guarding several necessary paths. The Painting Woman landed on one of them, her body gradually becoming solid from the feet up. Her height, clothing, and appearance underwent a huge transformation. When the faint light from below disappeared, she had turned into a sexy blonde beauty.
Rubbing her cheeks red, she walked on high heels to the corner, extended half of her snow-white arm, twirled her finger, and beckoned to the player a few meters away.
"Tracy?" The man recognized the accessory on her wrist and called out his companion's name. Then he cautiously walked over. When he saw the Painting Woman leaning against the wall, he couldn't help but close the distance.
The Painting Woman pounced on him, wrapping her arms around his neck, and gave him a seductive smile.
The man leaned in to kiss her, but the fingers moving behind his neck were getting stranger and stranger, eventually crossing and locking onto his Adam's apple...
The man's expression suddenly changed, but the next second, the Painting Woman's hands turned into thin layers of paper that kept lengthening, and then her entire body rolled up with the swirling paper, wrapping him inside!
"Burst!" The man muffled an order. The paper wrapping him instantly shattered, but the shredded pieces turned into thousands of blade shards, defying the explosive airflow and stabbing into his body from all directions!
The man's eyes went wide as he suddenly lost all movement. Then he opened his mouth and spat out a large amount of blood, falling forward.
The Painting Woman flew out from behind, grabbed his hand that was reaching for his chest, helped him lean against the wall, then, under his gaze, tore off the button signal device on his chest, dangled it in front of his eyes, and pointed at herself, indicating: Mine.
