Chapter 490: Watching Death

The man wearing the red bracelet was dressed in the extravagant gold attire typical of nobility. He sized up Xu Huo for a moment, as if weighing something, then said, "There are plenty of prey, why be so tense."
After speaking, he walked away without another word.

Xu Huo watched him disappear around the corner at the end of the corridor before closing the door. Looking at the terrified Parada, he gave a slight smile. "You're beyond saving."

Parada was still clutching his neck, but blood kept flowing out. The potion he had used was completely ineffective. He couldn't speak and could only use his eyes to beg Xu Huo for help.

Xu Huo leaned against the nearby table, lit a cigarette, and looked down at him with cold, detached eyes.

Parada's pleading expression gradually turned to anger. He slapped the badge that symbolized his identity and pointed at Xu Huo, as if demanding how he dared not save him!

Unfortunately, Xu Huo's expression didn't change at all. He continued to watch him, as if observing an insignificant animal making its final struggle by the roadside.

Parada began to grow afraid and turned to run toward the door.

Xu Huo, who had been leaning against the table a second ago, now stood in front of the door. He raised the Crimson Sword and precisely sliced through the badge on Parada's chest.

The metal badge broke in two and fell to the ground. Parada took two steps back, then pulled out a scepter-like item and raised it high. The gem on top released a blinding red light.

Taking advantage of Xu Huo's closed eyes, Parada turned and ran toward the window while putting on protective armor. But just as he was about to use the same trick to escape, a thin thread pierced the back of his neck. The next moment, his entire body felt weightless as he flew backward.

Parada still had some quick thinking. Knowing he couldn't escape the item's hold, he grabbed a handful of powder and threw it at Xu Huo.

He thought Xu Huo would be caught off guard while unable to see, but even with his eyes closed, Xu Huo clearly knew his next move. Players who hadn't experienced real instances or bloody battles didn't know how to hide their intentions, and their movements were far too exaggerated.

The "Oxygen Supply" was placed over his head. Xu Huo grabbed Parada, covered his mouth, cleanly kicked out his kneecaps, and then tossed him aside.

In fact, Parada couldn't make any more sounds. When he opened his mouth, the blood from his throat flowed even faster. After being thrown down, he curled up on the ground, breathing out more than in, only able to make strange "gurgling" sounds.

Xu Huo crouched two meters away from him. To make sure he could see clearly, he even pulled a floor lamp closer.

Parada gasped, staring straight at his face. In his final moments, he suddenly struggled, but the conscious struggle lasted only an instant before he fell into instinctive convulsions. After more than ten seconds, he breathed his last.

Xu Huo clapped his hands and stood up. He moved the lamp beside him, shining the light on his face with eyes wide open in death, then left the room.

In the short time it took him to deal with Parada, the entire ship had completely descended into a bloody slaughterhouse. Screams came from different places, and in some dark corners, players could be seen crouching on the ground, feeding.

In the corridors and open rooms, corpses were everywhere. At a glance, the most dead were the service staff. Among the white-bracelet players invited aboard, a considerable number were players themselves, so they hadn't yet reached such a tragic state.

Just as he reached the elevator door, Xu Huo sensed someone approaching quickly from behind. He swiftly drew his sword and held it horizontally in front of him, but the red-bracelet player who pounced and stepped on the blade slammed into him, sending them both into the elevator that had just opened.

The red-bracelet player followed him in, immediately used his bracelet to lock the elevator, pressed the button for the first floor, and then swiped his fingers, which were laced with blades, toward Xu Huo's throat!

Xu Huo blocked with his sword and simultaneously threw out the Fair Wallet and the Plant's Lament. A lifelike eyeball fell from the other player's other hand, and under the stimulation of the sharp sound, the red-bracelet player instinctively withdrew his hand to cover his ears.

Using the Ubiquitous String to tie his feet and the Non-Knotting Thread to lift him, Xu Huo flipped the opponent over. The lighter clicked, but the clothes on the red-bracelet player didn't catch fire.

That meant fire was useless. Xu Huo released a Confetti Cannon without a target, disrupting his vision while kicking him in the abdomen.

Cannibal players naturally had an advantage in physical fitness. The player in front of him seemed to be of a fairly high level. After taking the kick, he lightly stuck to the elevator wall, then quickly crawled to the top of the elevator, opening his mouth wide at Xu Huo.

In Xu Huo's vision, the red player's mouth instantly widened like a wild beast's, with sharp teeth and a long tongue appearing inside, like a monster from a horror movie.

But this illusion disappeared in an instant. Xu Huo took out his Water Blade Gun and sprayed it toward the opponent's mouth, but the other player teleported away, not even leaving a scratch, and then appeared behind him!

Through the mirror in the elevator, Xu Huo could see him pulling out a gun aimed at him.

At such close range and in such a confined space, avoiding a continuous attack was difficult, and using a B-grade item here was clearly not worth it.

He threw the Desert Windmill to the ground, and a large amount of yellow sand instantly filled the cramped elevator. Xu Huo dodged the skewed bullets and casually used Wall Hooks to attach the Non-Knotting Thread to the elevator door, quickly pulling it across several times.

By then, the elevator had reached the first floor. As the door opened, he crawled out from under the rope. The red player, who surged out with the sand, conjured a long sword and slashed at the thread. After knocking off one hook, he sneered and simply charged out.

All the threads attached inside the door were pulled off along with the wall hooks, causing him no harm. But when the red player leaped out of the elevator, a bloodline appeared on his neck.

Behind him, a bloodstained metal thread was still stretched across the elevator entrance, one end hanging on the Ubiquitous String, the other stuck with a "Do Not Disturb" sticker.

"Didn't expect your protective suit couldn't protect your neck," Xu Huo said, raising his hand to retrieve the items, looking at the red player who was trying to turn his head back to see him.

The head fell, and blood gushed out.

"Ah!!!" At that moment, a woman's scream came from not far away. Heavy footsteps rapidly approached. Xu Huo glanced over and saw two white-bracelet players chasing each other. The woman in front was clearly no match, with multiple wounds on her body. Seeing Xu Huo, she cried out for help.

The first, second, and third floors were in the belly of the ship. These three floors were the ship's operational core and the storage area for supplies. There were many items here but few people. When the massacre broke out on the ship, players who couldn't protect themselves either jumped overboard or hid here to wait out the storm. Unexpectedly, with more people, it wasn't peaceful either. Even white-bracelet players had started killing each other.
