Chapter 3146: Four-Part Space
"This is absolutely insane!" Fu Kuan couldn't help but say. "How charismatic must Mr. Carmen be?"
"What one cannot obtain is what drives one mad." Juno said.
"Among all the super players in the game, only he could make the entire game world's heart flutter." Gene didn't hide his admiration for Carmen. "Otherwise, why would so many people still be infatuated with him after all these years?"
"Mr. Carmen is indeed very charming, and not just in attracting the opposite sex," one of the bodyguards said. "Many people from player families, even if they stand on opposite sides, find it hard not to appreciate him."
"He is a very upright person."
These days, it's hard enough to be a good person, let alone to have higher moral standards. Especially when that integrity can be consistently upheld, no one can help but be impressed.
After all, people are always good at enduring and compromising.
Even though Carmen Field died, no one would mock his actions.
Such a powerful super player—if he were willing, he could stand firmly at the top of the game world. That's something countless people dream of!
"Why did Mr. Carmen fight those super players?" Upstairs asked what everyone was curious about.
The two bodyguards didn't speak, and Gene said impatiently, "How would we know about matters between super players? Just hurry up and look. After you're done, we'll go somewhere else. We've been in here so long, we can't leave empty-handed."
There were so many books and manuscripts that Upstairs and the others voluntarily came to help.
Regarding the manuscripts about the Battle Angel, Xu Huo only gave them a careful read before setting them aside. He took the materials related to Dr. Wu, some artifact-making manuscripts, records of the districts Carmen had visited, and a collection of his love letters.
As for the parts about super evolution, they weren't very useful to him, but he couldn't just give them directly to Upstairs and the others, so he generously allowed them some time to memorize.
The rest were personal hobby-related book collections, not many in number but diverse in type. These could be packed up and given to Carol as a token of gratitude.
Just as they were almost done packing, another player passed by outside. Seeing the books in their hands, he paused, a fanatical light bursting from his eyes.
So many people had come into the instance venue, and anything truly useful, even slightly decent items, had already been taken. It was only out of maintaining decency and respect for Carmen that no one had stripped the place down to the tables and chairs. But things with words and pictures... their significance far exceeded ordinary items!
The man's gaze swept around the room and finally landed on Xu Huo's backpack, which looked relatively heavy. He quickly stepped back outside the door, and at the same time, a shadow flickered at his feet. A spatial passageway connected from his position to Xu Huo's backpack.
Just as the backpack was about to sink into the passageway, a hand reached out from the side and firmly grabbed the strap. The person holding the strap, the owner of the backpack, looked up and coldly swept his gaze over the man outside the door, commanding, "Come in."
The player who had been standing outside, seeing his first strike fail, was about to try again. But upon hearing this, his hands and feet reacted faster than his mind. He almost immediately stepped into the room. As the door slammed shut behind him, cold sweat broke out on his forehead. At the same time, his passive defense device activated, but even this multi-layered barrier, combined with attack weapons, couldn't stop the man walking toward him—the other party simply raised his hand and tapped lightly in the air, and the instruments flying toward him shattered automatically. Not only did the sneak attack fail, it didn't even scratch the other person's skin!
"Don't kill me!" Seeing the man already in front of him, he quickly begged for mercy. "I know there's a special place in the instance venue that might have the remains of the Battle Angel!"
The people behind immediately looked at Xu Huo's backpack. The Angel's Left Eye was here. They didn't believe there were other remains in the instance venue. It couldn't be that all the good luck had fallen on them. Had the Field family and the super players who entered first all come and gone empty-handed?
"It's true, absolutely true!" the man said. "I overheard some people from player families talking. They said the Field family didn't find the Battle Angel's core item. The item is most likely in some place, and they're looking for it, and they have some leads..."
"Do you want to go check it out? If you see it, you'll know I'm definitely not lying!"
"Don't believe him," Gene said. "Would people from player families be stupid enough to discuss this loudly in the instance venue?"
"You're a mental evolver. You can definitely tell if I'm lying." The man looked at Xu Huo pleadingly. "With your strength, you could kill me anytime, but if you miss the remains of the Battle Angel, wouldn't you regret it for the rest of your life!"
Xu Huo smiled slightly, and the pressure around him dissipated. He patted the man on the shoulder and said in a deep voice, "When you want to run, remember to look back. Don't run too fast."
The man trembled slightly. He felt that this was not an ordinary threat but a hint with actual effect. Although he didn't want to admit it, after what happened when he entered the door, he understood that when the time came, he really wouldn't be able to control himself.
But the instance venue was huge. As long as he used a teleportation device to leave, even if the mental control took effect, he could still escape safely.
The man's expression visibly relaxed. "I'll lead the way."
"I wonder what he's so secretly happy about," Fu Kuan muttered.
Upstairs and the others packed the books and manuscripts into categories. After looking through the contents, his psychological burden was much lighter. After all, none of it was very important. Even if it was lost, it wouldn't matter. It was just right to divert attention from Xu Huo's truly important bag.
Following the man through twists and turns, they finally arrived at another flower room. Unlike the previous one, the ceiling of this flower room had spatial stitching similar to that around a train track. The entire ceiling was divided into four parts. On the left, a bed and kitchen could be seen. On the right, two pieces of wall cloth with different colors and patterns obscured the view, making it impossible to see exactly where it was.
"This is it." The man breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the ceiling. "But I don't know which specific space it is."
The others also found this difficult, but it certainly looked much more stable than the previous spatial gaps.
"How about we try them one by one?" Upstairs suggested.
Xu Huo looked at the man. "You choose."
The man's expression stiffened. "I can't bear such a big risk..."
"It's okay. You just go in first when the time comes." Xu Huo slightly raised his chin, indicating that he could begin.
The man was reluctant. His gaze lingered on the side with the wall cloth for a moment, but in the end, he chose the kitchen on the left.
Xu Huo didn't give him time to hesitate and directly pushed him in.
