Chapter 1993: Uneven
“That serious?” Xu Huo didn’t think he was joking and quickly asked, “Give me the specifics.”
“The blockade barrier is moving,” came the masked youth’s voice from the communicator.
“Moving?” Xu Huo quickly checked the two walls on his side, confirming they hadn’t shifted, then said, “The blockade barrier near Agor Headquarters is moving? Have the Agor players left?”
“No wonder they’ve been slowly reducing their numbers since earlier,” the masked youth said. “Their target is the outer zone players.”
Trapped inside the blockade barrier, unless they used items or other means to break through, only a ticket could get them out. All players in the East District, including those from other cities, could leave, but the outer zone players couldn’t.
“Here it comes!” The voice on the other end of the communicator immediately became urgent, and at the same time, Xu Huo saw the specifics from the aircraft near Agor Headquarters.
The ring wall was indeed pushing inward toward the center, just as the masked youth had said, and only this one wall was moving, at a moderate pace. Because of its enormous size, if you didn’t stare at it, you might not notice it for a while. Additionally, it didn’t affect the buildings during its movement, and the noise was very slight.
However, before anyone who noticed its movement or tried to find clues to break the barrier could react, with a strange tremor, in an instant, all the East District players vanished from their spots—they had left the district!
The very next second, the ring wall, which had been moving slowly, contracted to the square in front of the Agor building in the blink of an eye, its speed so fast it almost disappeared from space. The outer zone players scattered within this range were instantly compressed into a space just over ten meters wide in the center. Thanks to their defensive items propping it up, they still had some room to move, but precisely because they were using those items, they realized how powerful this blockade barrier was. In just two or three seconds, the largest defensive barriers were forcibly shattered, and once the ring wall barrier contracted, even reopening a defensive barrier couldn’t push it back!
As the defensive barriers disappeared one after another, the outer zone players finally realized disaster was upon them. Abandoning all caution, they pulled out their trump card items.
Because the ring wall didn’t affect actual buildings—and even filtered out aircraft in the air as it closed in—location-type items that could be used as houses were useless. Only similar space-type items could hold it off for a while.
After several attempts, one player’s item worked. It was a floor tile, but when placed on the ground, it began to stack automatically—one became two, two became four—quickly reaching the ring wall barrier and slowly pushing it open!
“Mine won’t last long! Hurry up and find a way to break the barrier!” the player holding it shouted, sweating profusely.
“Twilight Dividing Line.” The masked youth, also squeezed into the center, stood at the edge and drew a line on the barrier. The line didn’t split the barrier, but it made part of it show two different brightness levels—light and dark.
“Hit the dark part!” The masked youth attacked the dark section first. Using items on it was indeed effective, as the barrier visibly developed dents, and the wall wasn’t as hard as before!
Just as everyone concentrated their fire on the dark part of the barrier, several white beams of light fell from above, instantly killing three B-rank players, including the one who used the floor tile item. The masked youth and another player holding a sharp spiral cone were also targeted, but they were lucky enough to dodge.
The masked youth turned into a shadow and disappeared, then reappeared in the air. He made a neck-snapping gesture toward the old man who had ambushed them.
The old man’s head turned slightly to the right, but the next second, it returned to its normal position. He glanced at the masked youth with some regret, then vanished from the air.
“Those bastards, they still had a trick up their sleeve!” The masked youth was about to return to the ground when he vaguely saw another blue light approaching in the distance. He froze, and before he could react, a “bang” sounded—the second ring wall barrier slammed into the one trapping the outer zone players!
The two forces combined nearly shattered all the defensive barriers of the outer zone players. The players were violently thrown together, and in the chaos, they didn’t have time to switch the items in their hands, accidentally killing several people!
Those gathered here were all high-level players. No one expected they would die so miserably, as if it were a careless joke.
But those still alive had no time to worry about others—they were about to die too!
“Think of something fast!” To gain more space, most people pressed together, using their bodies and items to hold up the ring wall barrier. “Even A-rank items can’t break through—is this barrier a super item?”
A super item?
They were overestimating Agor Corporation. The ring wall barrier was undoubtedly a space device. It seemed indestructible because the wall was constantly stacking. The blue wall they could see wasn’t the complete barrier; there were several layers of invisible barriers on both sides. Every attack was weakened as it passed through the invisible layers, and as long as the wall wasn’t completely destroyed in one blow, new barriers would form behind it.
In fact, this ring wall barrier wasn’t without weak points. Its weak point was on the ground, where the barrier layers were thinnest and stacked more slowly. As for why the outer zone players trapped at Agor couldn’t find an exit underground, it was likely because the underground of Agor Headquarters had been specially reinforced. Looking at the overall layout of the ring wall barrier, the center was definitely the strongest.
It was impossible to simply crush all these people to death in the barrier. Agor’s side would occasionally have players appear, taking the chance to kill a few when the outer zone players were off guard.
“Damn it! Once I get out, I’m going to slaughter Agor!” one player cursed while swiping their personal panel to buy a high-level space jamming device.
This situation lasted less than ten minutes before it ended when a player found a space jamming device of sufficient level.
But none of them noticed that during this process, a dividing line appeared on the ground beneath their feet. The line cut through the small area where they stood. The brighter part took up only about a tenth, while most of the outer zone players stood on the darker side.
“A hair’s breadth between life and death.” The old man appeared outside the vanished ring wall. He raised his right hand, as if pulling an invisible thread, and then more than half of the players forced together were cut in half at the waist.
