Chapter 1961: Bounty Target Information

Xu Huo glanced at the woman, but she said, "I'm not afraid you'll try to make a profit off me. You could capture me, but since you've entered the East District, it's hard to leave. There are electronic eyes everywhere around here. If you make a move, the East District players will know immediately."

"Tell me first." Xu Huo said.

"I want you to destroy this place." The woman didn't dare speak too clearly. She first handed him a photograph. As her hand moved, Xu Huo caught a bitter smell, likely coming from her hand.

The photo showed a hospital under the Agor Corporation.

"Reason."

"All six of my children died here." The woman's voice unconsciously softened. "Women in the East District easily miscarry. My relatives, friends, and neighbors are all like this. It takes three or four pregnancies to possibly keep one. The ones that don't survive usually miscarry at two or three months. But I was different. Each of my five miscarried children lived past five months. Every time they reached five months, I thought they would be born healthy, but every time my hopes were dashed."

"But since everyone was like this, how could I complain? Later, my sixth child was finally born, but he wasn't healthy. He had to go to the hospital almost every month for treatment."

"I worked hard to watch him grow to five years old. He had just celebrated his birthday when he was admitted to the hospital for an acute illness and died there..."

The woman seemed accustomed to this pain, so she only choked up slightly before continuing. "I thought it was just bad luck. After my child died, my husband also passed away in an accident. I had no plans to remarry, so I joined a religion. On a friend's recommendation, I went to the hospital to volunteer, hoping to do some good deeds, to pray for myself and for my deceased husband and child."

"Unexpectedly, I discovered the truth about my child's death there. My child didn't die of illness. The hospital thought that if he lived, he would only consume the East District's medical resources for his entire life, and he wasn't as valuable as a healthy child... For this reason, they didn't treat my child and watched him die in agony..."

Xu Huo signaled her to stop, but the woman shook her head, her voice continuing through the earpiece. "That's not the whole truth. Why do so many children mysteriously miscarry at three or four months? Because when the hospital does check-ups, they assess the fetus's health. If they think it's not healthy enough and that letting it be born would waste East District resources, they induce the miscarriage early... Unlike normal miscarriages, my five children who lived past five months were all killed this way, all killed by the hospital!"

Xu Huo remained silent. The people of the East District didn't have special genetic diseases, so such a high miscarriage rate was indeed abnormal. However, the East District's approach was also strange. If they didn't want so many children, they could simply prevent ordinary people from getting pregnant through water or food, rather than letting them get pregnant and then constantly miscarrying, even involving hospitals in the miscarriage process. From any angle, it seemed unnecessarily complicated.

"I want to avenge my children, avenge all the innocent children who died!" The woman's voice deepened, filled with hysterical hatred. "Everyone in the hospital knew about it. I want them all to die! Let everyone know their true faces!"

After her breathing calmed down a bit, Xu Huo said, "What information can you provide?"

"The psychotherapist on Bounty List Number 9 is about to undergo surgery. I know where and when. As long as you disrupt the surgery, he won't survive. You can take his corpse to claim the reward." The woman's voice returned to its previous state, though it was clear she was very uneasy saying these words.

"I understand." Xu Huo stood up. The woman quickly followed suit, even reaching out to grab him, but she quickly pulled back. She looked up at him, her eyes full of hope. "You'll help, right?"

"There are innocent people like you in the hospital too." Xu Huo asked her, "What will happen to them if you destroy the hospital?"

The woman hesitated and struggled. Her eyes were red, and she uncontrollably scratched her hands, breaking the skin and drawing blood without stopping. After a long while, she hardened her heart. "I owe them. After this is done, I'll pay with my life! If the hospital's affairs are exposed, more people will be saved. Maybe other hospitals have the same situation. We've lived half our lives in confusion, but we can't die in confusion! We're not players, we don't have that much power, but we're not livestock in a pen, to be manipulated at will!"

"I believe you're telling the truth, but since you have this resolve, why don't you seek help from the Rebel Army?" Xu Huo said. "They would surely be eager to catch the Agor Corporation in the wrong."

"I've sought out the Rebel Army. They always say the timing isn't right. I have no choice..." The woman wept, holding onto the chair as she slowly knelt on the ground. "I'm running out of time..."

"Are you sick?"

The woman sobbed. "My mental indicators are problematic. The city government will soon arrange for a psychotherapist to treat me. I can't hide my situation from a psychotherapist. If I'm not dead after treatment, I'll forget everything from the past. I've seen people who've been treated."

Xu Huo helped her up. "Can you hold on until after the anniversary celebration?"

The woman nodded blankly. "But that therapist's surgery is before the anniversary celebration."

This conflicted with Xu Huo's plans. However, before he could say anything, the woman pulled out a note and stuffed it into his hand. "You're my only hope. I believe in you."

"Please, you must help me."

Xu Huo accepted the note. "If the matter is true, I will fulfill the agreement."

The woman's expression suddenly relaxed. Her eyes stared blankly ahead, as if all her energy had been drained in an instant.

Xu Huo didn't bother with her. Instead, he took a car to leave the park and return to Sister Yan's residence.

He had left the residential area in the afternoon and even taken a trip into the city. It would have been fine if he hadn't returned, but once he did, the Rebel Army couldn't pretend not to know. However, Sister Yan and the others hadn't left the residential area. Instead, they chose to be open with him.

"Since you've come back, it should mean you're willing to coexist peacefully with us." Sister Yan said. "You're staying here with a fake identity. I won't interfere with your affairs, and you don't interfere with ours. How about it?"

"Does the Rebel Army know about the Agor Corporation's hospital harming fetuses?" Xu Huo didn't answer but instead asked, then sneered at their expressions. "It seems you do know."

"I thought the Rebel Army was different from the Agor Corporation's people. I didn't expect you to be about the same. You talk about freedom, but in the end, you just want to replace the Agor Corporation and take charge!"

"How dare you say that!" The man behind Sister Yan slammed the table and stood up. (Chapter End)
