Chapter 1902: Exchanging Time and Space
In truth, Xu Huo should have used auxiliary tools long ago, but considering this place might be the territory of a Super Player, and perhaps players from Zone 011 might come to rescue, whether it was the "Cube Space" or "Angel's Eyes," taking them out carried certain risks. He had been holding back, but after trying various possibilities without discovering more patterns, he had to take the risk and give it a shot.
Since this venue was related to time, he simply closed the door and took out "Angel's Eyes."
Xu Huo had begun his Temporal Super Evolution from the moment the Chaos Space appeared in Zone 014. Currently, his evolution level was limited to sensing Time Rays; he couldn't control the rays to do anything unless in special circumstances or with item assistance.
"Angel's Eyes" was an aid. It was itself a natural ore that could release Time Rays, and the black ring embedded within it made the Time Rays easier to manipulate, such as intercepting specific time fragments.
Xu Huo was just a beginner; his perception of Time Rays was far less acute and refined than his perception of Space Rays. So now, to sense the temporal-spatial power on the doors, he had to rely on "Angel's Eyes."
Sure enough, with the item's effect, a slight difference appeared between the doors and the time power on them.
Previously, in his Chaos Space, the Time Rays he saw had a curvature. However, he didn't know how large this curvature was or what pattern it followed. If it was merely a subtle time difference, the distinction between rays wasn't actually that significant. Yet, with "Angel's Eyes" expanding his perception, the Time Rays in the room presented another state.
Unlike the chaotic Space Rays, in Xu Huo's understanding, the distribution of Time Rays was relatively orderly. They crisscrossed, forming grid-like shapes in the air. Plucking any single Time Ray could affect a nearby cluster. But now, the Time Rays in the room before him were fixed onto specific objects.
The walls, tables, chairs, utensils—each individual item had one or more vertical Time Rays. These rays had no horizontal intersection points; instead, they were spread far apart. Xu Huo tried plucking one, and besides the rays in this room, the two front courtyards also produced a similar tremor.
Xu Huo quickly walked forward and finally stopped in the third courtyard. Up to this point, the Time Rays he sensed were all identical. But when he was about to randomly choose a door to open, the tremor behind that door disappeared. And as he gave up and turned to another door, the tremor behind that door also ceased.
Pushing the door open, he found himself in the dining room of state "2."
Repeating the process, he plucked the Time Ray again. The vibration frequency of the Time Rays in the rooms of the same courtyard was identical. When he quickly stopped in front of the third courtyard's door, the room behind it calmed down once more.
Xu Huo didn't rush to push the door open. Instead, he tried the other three doors. Unfortunately, he could only sense that the space behind the doors had changed, but couldn't directly tell what state the room had switched to.
With just a door separating them, he activated "Cube Space" to try and distinguish the room's state by assimilating the Space Rays. However, with the door closed, the possibility of internal and external Space Rays connecting was already cut off. Moreover, "Cube Space" assimilated the door too slowly; no new Space Rays appeared for a long time.
It was impossible to determine what the next room would look like through Space Rays, and Time Rays seemed even more difficult.
But since time power was dominant, the breakthrough should still lie with the Time Rays. Blocked by the spatial channel, how could he sense the Time Rays behind the door?
He sat in front of the door for a long time, delaying opening it, instead trying to pull the Time Rays behind it.
The Time Rays in this venue seemed to be fixed, unlike the crisscrossing state of the outside space. It appeared very difficult to influence other Time Rays by pulling one, yet the Time Rays in rooms of the same space could resonate. This felt as if these Time Rays were connected by invisible horizontal rays, but Xu Huo truly couldn't sense where this pulling force was located.
Recalling Lawrence Li's Space Rays, his weren't the most basic rays but an application of space power, reaching a visible level. Could it be that Time Rays could also manifest similarly, just in a different form?
Xu Huo made a round of the surrounding rooms but found no more valuable clues. However, thinking from another angle, since rooms in different states had different times, and the rooms were constantly switching, perhaps the entire room—or rather, the three connected courtyards—formed a single whole. Therefore, moving the Time Ray in one room caused the rays in other rooms to vibrate. At least, before he opened the door to the third courtyard, the tremor of the Time Rays remained consistent.
If the rooms were seen as Time Rays, then every three courtyards could be seen as ten rays. The moment the door to the third courtyard opened, one Time Ray was pulled out and replaced with another ray of a different time, causing the tremor to suddenly disappear—like a point on two intersecting lines being extracted and replaced.
If the room as a whole acted as the Time Ray itself, then every three courtyards could be seen as a single whole, with identical internal rays. Looking at it this way, it was essentially different states of Time Rays exchanging positions. But within the same venue, these rays couldn't possibly be completely unrelated to each other...
Xu Huo stood up and looked down at the ground, pressing his hand against the brick surface to try and sense if there were any other Space Rays.
Even with item assistance, his sensing range was still limited. As before, before he opened the door to the third courtyard, all the surrounding rooms seemed identical, and the vision rays showed no difference.
After trying for a while without any results, Xu Huo's head began to ache, and he had to stop and rest.
Unexpectedly, after sitting in the courtyard for a short while, he saw that noble youth named Rhodes, the one who had led them here.
Upon seeing Xu Huo, Rhodes's joy outweighed his caution. He quickly asked, "Do you know how to get out?"
As he spoke, he tried to walk into the courtyard but was blocked by the space barrier. Xu Huo looked at him and suddenly realized that since he was blocked by the space, it meant the courtyard he was in and the room Rhodes occupied were in different spaces. If the furnishings on both sides were the same, it meant the venue restricted player gatherings. If the furnishings were different, then the times on both sides were also different. With people on both sides, would it affect the perception of Time Rays?
