# Chapter 1801: The Risks of a B-Class Train
The corrosive mucus carried by the silent xenomorphs was somewhat troublesome, so players basically threw them off the train before killing them. As B-Class players, who didn't have a few long-range attack items? After engaging in combat and confirming that these weren't strong-attack xenomorphs, and knowing what their most lethal weapons were, dealing with them wasn't difficult.
The large xenomorph was a bit more troublesome. It seemed clumsy, but in reality, it lacked neither strength nor speed. After nimbly dodging fatal blows several times, it leaped off the train with its injured body and vanished into the darkness.
A few seconds later, its howl echoed from afar.
The cry, clearly meant to summon companions, made the players on the train furrow their brows. Not for any other reason—if there were too many xenomorphs and they were strong attackers, occupying this small section of the train made it impossible to kill them all while maintaining distance. If they wanted to deploy a large-scale protective shield, their own attacks couldn't break through the barrier. And if each person cordoned off a small area with their own barrier, the train might be overturned. At the same time, because the train was traveling at high speed, some items were ineffective, and they couldn't even wait for the xenomorphs to approach.
There were also items with attack ranges of over a hundred meters, but probably due to the special nature of the space around the tracks, beyond a certain distance, the items might fail or be drastically weakened, failing to achieve the desired defense or kill effect.
If the xenomorph swarm was too large, it could potentially knock the train off the tracks.
"Keep a few xenomorphs!" a player who had trapped two silent xenomorphs shouted to the others. "Everyone move to the front cars."
This was the best approach. The players gathered in the cars closest to the locomotive, set up defenses from within, and prepared to cut off empty cars at any time. This was relatively safe and cost-effective.
So after capturing a few silent xenomorphs, the players began moving toward the front cars. Due to the large number of people, they still occupied five cars.
With many people in a small space, and five cars feeling a bit long, a few players used defensive items to stand outside the cars, ready to face the first wave of attacks.
But surprisingly and fortunately, although they heard the distant sound of xenomorphs running, the swarm didn't approach the train, as if they had suddenly stopped somewhere.
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, a strange fluctuation suddenly rippled through the air. Immediately after, a player standing on top of a car vanished!
The first to react were, of course, the few players also standing on the roof. They hadn't felt anything at all—the person standing beside them had simply disappeared out of thin air, without any sign or trace!
Anything could happen on the train tracks. Perhaps the xenomorphs' refusal to approach was precisely because of this eerie situation. So the players outside quickly retreated back inside.
Fortunately, this situation didn't recur. Everyone kept their eyes open until dawn, and only when they saw the sunlight again did they truly relax.
"What exactly happened last night?" a player asked after eating a simple breakfast.
Most people actually didn't know what had happened. Based on experience and publicly available information from the game platform, the greatest dangers near the train tracks were dimensional storms and xenomorph swarms, and dimensional storms weren't this calm.
"It might be some other natural phenomenon," Pink Hair said, having held his tongue all night. Now that someone was talking, he eagerly spoke up. "Anyway, aren't there plenty of strange things near the tracks? Maybe a small spatial collapse or spatial passage appeared, and it just happened to suck two or three people in."
This was a relatively reasonable speculation, especially for players sensitive to spatial forces. They had indeed sensed spatial fluctuations, but it was too fast—by the time they realized it, everything was over.
"Isn't there a way to defend against it?" This was the most concerning issue for everyone. They were the main force traveling on and off the train.
"The people who disappeared were all outside the cars," said a man with a side-parted hairstyle. "So staying inside the train should be safe."
Everyone thought this made sense, while also feeling that the few people who had disappeared last night were truly unlucky.
Although there were many people crowded together, after the events of the first two nights, the players had become much more amicable. At least they wouldn't start fighting at the slightest disagreement. If there was danger again tonight, two more people meant two more meat shields.
Ignoring the occasional glances directed at him, Xu Huo leaned against the sofa and gnawed on dry rations.
"Why eat dry rations when you can order food? Afraid someone will poison you?" Pink Hair squeezed in beside him, ordering food as he spoke. "I'll go get it myself later. Absolutely no problem."
This was a B-Class player train. Advancing from C-Class to B-Class, whether in items, evolution rate, traits, or possible super evolution, should bring about a huge leap. Especially traits—to become a B-Class player, one must have accumulated a considerable number of instances. The more instances accumulated, the greater the chance of trait evolution upon each clearance. Trait evolution generally manifested in two aspects: range and control. So at B-Class, having a powerful adjudicator trait like Kuang Sen's was the norm.
Moreover, with deeper exploration of traits, all sorts of strange developments were normal. With so many people here, even specialized anti-trait items couldn't block everything. Although many traits didn't necessarily have a one-hit-kill effect, it was always better to be cautious.
At least Xu Huo could guarantee that the food in his hands was safe.
"Is that food from your hometown? It smells pretty good. Can I have some?" a female player beside him said with a smile.
Xu Huo glanced at her, fed the last piece of jerky into his mouth, then clapped his hands in front of her, shaking off the crumbs stuck to his gloves.
The female player couldn't help but roll her eyes. She turned to ask another player on the other side. That player wasn't as obvious as Xu Huo; instead, he slowly portioned out some food and placed it on the ground. "I don't want these anymore."
The implication was that if she wanted to pick them up and eat them, it had nothing to do with him.
Though angry, the female player still picked them up, checked that they weren't poisoned, and then ate them.
Around this time, the train began delivering meals. Pink Hair hopped and skipped through the crowd to the relatively spacious transition car, took the food from the robot, and came back to invite Xu Huo to eat together, without even checking if the food was safe.
After tasting each dish, he asked Xu Huo, "Has my hair changed color?"
"No," Xu Huo glanced at it.
"Good. I'm very sensitive to poison. If I touch even a little, my hair changes color." Pink Hair pointed at his head. "See, this is the aftereffect of my last poisoning."
Xu Huo looked at his obviously bleached hair and played along. "So can you detoxify yourself?"
"No!" Pink Hair laughed heartily and pushed a plate of food toward him. "But it can remind me to take an antidote!"
