Chapter 1800: Breaking the Car and Entering
Blocking the windows in advance was useful, because that sticky sound was exactly the alien creatures outside hitting the metal plates. Players inside the carriage could even hear what sounded like a mouth or a suction cup moving across the metal plates, searching for gaps to enter the carriage like living things.
The players didn't feel good at this moment. There was no doubt they were surrounded. Although they couldn't see what those things outside looked like, they imagined they must be even more bizarre than any alien creatures they had encountered before. They were on top of the train, but their mouths were on the side windows—the more a species didn't look like it existed in reality, the more likely it was a product of severe genetic mutation. These species often had unexpected attack power.
Now the windows were sealed, but they were still searching outside relentlessly. Before long, a heavy object crashing down accompanied by the sound of breaking windows came from behind. Everyone immediately realized: some carriages hadn't sealed off the transition carriages along with them!
Of course, it was also possible that the objects blocking the windows couldn't withstand the weight of the alien creatures and collapsed the props. But regardless, the alien creatures outside had already entered the train.
Fortunately, most players had chosen to seal the windows. Otherwise, if the alien creatures destroyed all the carriage walls, everyone would face this situation.
However, the expected fight didn't happen. After another round of rain-like assault, the entire train suddenly fell silent. Everyone could feel the pressure on the train body lift, as if those alien creatures had all vanished at once!
This eerie silence instead made the players more vigilant. A few seconds later, the carriage in front of Xu Huo's suddenly suffered a heavy blow. The force was so great that it caused the entire train to pause. Of course, that pause disappeared after a second, replaced by the sound of eating and swallowing, and something being torn apart, with bits and pieces falling onto the carriage roof.
The sound moved slowly, gradually approaching from the front carriage to the one Xu Huo was in. As the alien creature moved, the metal plates propped against the carriage roof deformed slightly. A stench drifted down through the gaps, along with something dripping—blood or something else—wetly landing on the players' heads.
This wasn't enough to harm the players, but as the chewing and tearing sounds overhead prolonged, the sound of rain gradually gathered again. After a low beast-like roar, the metal plates above everyone's heads developed dense pits, as if bombarded by cannonballs. Not long after, another violent strike came from above, this time completely bending a metal plate. A fat alien creature was pressed into the carriage, and along with it came an overly long arm.
Because of the darkness, it was impossible to see what the fighting alien creatures looked like, but from their range of movement and breathing sounds, it could be inferred that one was more than twice the size of the other, hence the overwhelming massacre.
Whether that fat alien creature's vocal organs had degenerated was unknown. Even when bitten and slaughtered, it didn't make any struggling sounds. But the one that entered the carriage wasn't dead yet. It instinctively raised its feeding organ, and at that moment, the players standing near the back door, including Xu Huo who was pressed against the door, simultaneously felt a powerful suction force!
The two players at the front shifted their steps, but people had already died last night, and everyone was mentally prepared. So this huge suction force didn't cause a repeat tragedy. The alien creature's suction wasn't for feeding either—as it opened its mouth, its body began to rapidly expand, like an inflating balloon, easily pushing open the claws gripping it.
The large alien creature on the carriage roof was enraged. It roared and wildly tore at the metal plates, trying to burrow inside!
This commotion was no less than dismantling the car. The players inside could only retreat. The front carriage was already destroyed, and it was imaginable that those alien creatures capable of releasing corrosive mucus had gathered there, so they could only head to the rear carriages.
Thus, in an instant, several players pressed against the carriage walls on both sides, forcefully crashing through the metal plates and alien creatures blocking their way, charging straight into the transition carriage.
"This can't go on," someone said. "If we let that big alien creature continue, the rear carriages might disconnect from the front!"
Once the carriages disconnected, their chances of catching up to the train head would be extremely slim. And being left behind on the B-Class train tracks, they could imagine what they would face next.
"Kill that big one," a player immediately responded.
No one else objected, and they quickly formulated a plan. First, they would try to lure or drive away the alien creatures using light, sound, or smell stimulation. At the same time, they would do their utmost to kill the large alien creature or force it off the train. Since the large alien creature was attracted by the silent ones, they also needed to reduce the number of silent alien creatures. Additionally, since the train was moving fast, it was best to complete all this inside the carriage.
So, ten seconds after the agreement, a flash prop flew out of the carriage. After hovering for five seconds, it burst into dazzling light in the distant sky!
The moment the light appeared, everyone finally saw the current situation in the carriage. The windows and all items were gone. In the center was a giant creature covered in fish-scale-like hard armor. It was over four meters tall, its entire head like an over-inflated meatball. The upper half of its face was covered in wart-like growths, with no visible eyes. Its nose and ears had degenerated into two small holes, but its mouth could open into a considerable semicircle, with two rows of sharp teeth that could easily tear apart prey. It was now using its long, strong limbs to grab two silent alien creatures and stuff them into its mouth.
This large alien creature was insensitive to light and sound, and the silent alien creatures clinging to it were the same.
Compared to the ferocity of the large alien creature, the silent alien creatures, fat and pig-like in appearance, seemed harmless. Their huge ears hung on either side of their heads, their eyelids fused together, giving them an odd, stupid look. Even their nails had degenerated. With their pinkish skin, they didn't look like man-eating alien creatures at first glance.
However, they might have the ability to expand and contract. Their skin was quite loose, even sagging and hanging at the abdomen. Their toughness matched their mouths—the silent alien creatures' mouths had evolved into an elephant trunk-like shape, capable of stretching multiple times. The tip could open, revealing a interior full of suction cups. Besides strong adhesion, they could also release mucus that dissolved objects.
The silent alien creatures had limited resistance, only able to bite the large one with their mouths. But the mucus they released had little effect on the large alien creature, and rushing at it only made them food.
Even though light and sound couldn't lure them away, it didn't mean there weren't other types of alien creatures nearby. So after a quick glance, the players began to act. To ensure safety, several players deployed protective barriers above the train, minimizing airflow interference as much as possible. Then, other players rushed out of the carriage one after another, harvesting the alien creatures at the fastest speed.
