Chapter 1002: You Really Have Integrity

Mr. Chang naturally had defensive items in front of him. Facing the person charging straight at him, he didn't retreat half a step, a mocking smile on his lips. "Just because you narrowly dodged my trait, you think you can win..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Xu Huo's fist pierced through his defensive item with an unstoppable force, hitting his glasses squarely!

With a crisp cracking sound, the monocle shattered into several pieces and fell. Xu Huo stepped back, avoiding the short whip in the other's hand, and stopped by the control room wall, smiling. "I wasn't too pleased with the look of you just now. Feels much better with the glasses gone."

Mr. Chang's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but roar, "I'll screw your grandfather!"

The short whip seemed to have a soft laser tail, leaving dazzling afterimages in the air as it carved penetrating scratches through the train walls. In just ten seconds, half the control room and the entire item storage area were riddled with holes.

However, his items weren't enough to break through the "Inviolable Domain." Xu Huo calmly retreated, even pulling the other two people forward. "Don't stare at the kid. Advise your friend not to cut off the train's front."

Enough was enough. The invisible player manipulated the metal in the distance to melt, directly attacking Dong Jingxuan!

Although Dong Jingxuan had items on him, he had no combat experience. Having just witnessed a player's skull being burned through by high-temperature metal, he jumped around, not knowing where to hide.

Xu Huo used "Light Sandwich" to interrupt the invisible player's movements and simply pulled all three people into the spiritual realm:

The black space descended, and the train along with everything around them disappeared. The blank distance between the two sides seemed to extend infinitely in an instant. Along with this extension, one door after another closed in the middle, like layers of barriers, adding difficulty to the simple gap.

"The other side is a Super Evolver!" the invisible player said grimly to his companion. "High-level Mental Super Evolvers are troublesome. We might have already entered his spiritual realm!"

"No." Mr. Chang, having put on another monocle, stepped forward. "If he had used spiritual power on such a large scale just now, I wouldn't have been completely unaware."

The invisible player subconsciously glanced at the red mark on his eye socket.

Mr. Chang's face darkened. "Forget it. No need to tangle with him. Just contact the Dong family directly and get the genetic code. If they can't find Lei Shou, the Dong family will naturally know Dong Jingxuan is in our hands..."

"What genetic code?" A voice clearly different from theirs sounded beside them. The three of them changed expression and immediately attacked with items.

Xu Huo, who had asked out of curiosity, casually closed the door in front of him and walked back behind the three. He called out "Hey" to Mr. Chang, and when the latter turned around, he punched his glasses again.

The glasses shattered, and Mr. Chang seemed to reach the edge of rage, grinding his teeth. "Too much!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a square item the size of a fist appeared in his hand, embedded with a tornado-shaped ornament. When the item flipped, the tornado inside began to spin automatically, pulling everything in front of him, including Xu Huo, toward him!

This suction didn't directly pull objects into the item itself but made them infinitely close to it. So, the flying seat debris that came first had to be dealt with by Mr. Chang one by one—of course, his goal was to pull Xu Huo over.

He couldn't determine Xu Huo's exact position, or rather, he wasn't sure if the position he judged was correct.

Realizing this, Xu Huo dropped the "Desert Windmill" on the ground. Countless grains of sand filled the carriage, then were sucked over by Mr. Chang's item, quickly packing tightly around him.

Mr. Chang and the other two got a mouthful of sand. The driving player took out a pen and drew a line in front of his feet, instantly splitting the carriage in half. On their side, the sand fell to the ground, while the other side remained a rolling yellow sandstorm.

"The person is on the other side!" the invisible player said, looking at the yellow sand. He released a black scorpion into it, but the next second, the scorpion flew back and slammed into the driving player!

"What the hell!" the driving player dodged to the side while blocking with a defensive item. Seeing the scorpion still alive on the ground, he couldn't help saying, "Can you not use that thing!"

"What are you afraid of!" the invisible player said, stepping on the scorpion and crushing it. "With so many items, you're scared of a scorpion?"

"Dying at the hands of your own people—that's the real injustice!" the driving player said.

The invisible player wanted to say more but was interrupted by Mr. Chang. "Enough! You two hold this position. I'll contact the Dong family."

The invisible player and the driving player nodded simultaneously.

Mr. Chang glanced at the yellow sand again and turned toward the control room. As his front foot stepped into the control room, his back toe tapped the ground. A barely noticeable, three-meter-long grid pattern formed automatically on the floor. After he passed, the pattern suddenly lifted off the ground, quickly assembling into a cage in the air.

Hearing the sound, Mr. Chang turned around with a smile, but his expression froze when he saw Xu Huo standing outside the cage. However, he reacted the next second. "The item must be triggered by someone!"

As he spoke, he swept his whip toward the cage, but the moment they touched, the cage directly twisted and dissipated into smoke.

"How is that possible!" Mr. Chang couldn't believe his eyes. He quickly stepped forward and swept his hand through the air. When he truly didn't touch the cage, he realized that the "Xu Huo triggering the item" he had just seen was completely fake!

In the instant he tested the truth, a gust of wind rushed toward his face again. Mr. Chang instinctively covered his right eye, which had already been hit twice, and was then sent flying by a palm strike!

Protected by items, this blow didn't cause him serious injury, but he had estimated the distance while walking in the dark. He should have been at the front door of the control room just now. Yet, after pulling back, he didn't touch the train at all!

His two companions were not far away but seemed completely unaware of the fight here, staring intently at the yellow sand.

Looking at the person who had opened the door and walked out, Mr. Chang said in a deep voice, "Everything just now was fake!"

Xu Huo smiled without speaking.

"Who the hell are you?" Mr. Chang said urgently. "You're not a player from Zone 002, nor are you from the Dong family. Why meddle in our affairs!"

Xu Huo raised a hand to stop him. "I'm not very interested in your affairs. I said from the start, I'm here for the money."

Mr. Chang looked at him with suspicion. A second later, he said, "What if I offer double the price?"

"That won't work either. I have professional ethics," Xu Huo refused.

Perhaps his expression was too calm—at least, it was impossible to tell from his face whether there was any truth to the words. Mr. Chang gave a forced smile. "You really do have integrity."
