Chapter 332: The Undefeated Luck

“Damn it…” Chen Junnan yelled, then pushed past Yun Yao and Xu Qian as he staggered forward. “Hey! What the hell are you doing?!”

But Zhong Zhen seemed completely unable to hear Chen Junnan’s voice. He sneered angrily and said, “You woman… I’ve finally got you… Do you remember what I said?”

Yan Zhichun kept moving her hands, but she couldn’t control any of Zhong Zhen’s movements. She never expected this man to be so ruthless as to stab his own eardrums on the spot.

Chen Junnan rushed up to Zhong Zhen in a few steps and placed his hand on the man’s shoulder. “Hey! Let’s talk this out… Let her go first…”

“Get lost!” Zhong Zhen roared, throwing a punch straight at Chen Junnan’s chest. Chen Junnan’s physical condition was terrible right now; he couldn’t dodge the punch at all and was sent crashing to the ground.

“You son of a bitch…” Chen Junnan lay on the ground, clutching his chest and gasping for breath. Slowly, he got to his feet. “So I’m being bullied today, am I?”

He was about to step forward and argue, but Yun Yao grabbed him firmly.

“Huh?” Chen Junnan froze. “Big star, you’d better step back. When the fight starts, your grandpa’s blood might splash all over your face.”

Yun Yao sighed in exasperation. “Chen Junnan, what do you mean ‘your blood’? If you’re going to play hero, at least make sure the other guy’s the one bleeding.”

“I’m not in good form today—I’ve been spurting blood left and right. But don’t worry, I’m not gonna let that punk off easy.”

“Looks like a personal grudge to me. Do you really need to get involved?” Yun Yao asked.

“I don’t care if it’s personal or not. Aren’t they both still alive? The Earth Snake’s game didn’t kill them, but now after it’s over, they’re fighting over some private beef? That’s just not worth it. Besides, I can’t stand watching a big man beat a woman to death right in front of me.”

Yun Yao felt that Chen Junnan seemed to have some strange obsession, but unfortunately, she didn’t know his background. She could only say, “That woman is clearly no ordinary person. She might want to kill Zhong Zhen just as much.”

“I already took Zhong Zhen’s death for him—the iron ball never fell on his head the whole time. If he were smarter, he might not have ended up in this situation.” Chen Junnan said seriously. “And one thing is one thing. If I don’t see it, fine. But if I do, I’m stepping in.”

“You… fine…” Yun Yao couldn’t talk him out of it, so she waved her hand helplessly. “If you die, it’ll be a hassle. Let me handle it.”

While Chen Junnan looked on in confusion, Yun Yao picked up a small stone from the ground and casually tossed it.

The stone flew unerringly and struck Zhong Zhen right on the temple, but the force was very light.

Zhong Zhen closed his eyes. Just as he was about to stand up, his right foot stepped on an unstable rock. He stumbled back a few steps, tripped over a piece of flesh on the ground, and fell backward uncontrollably, the back of his head smacking against an open door.

“Argh!” Zhong Zhen screamed, clutching the back of his head and rolling on the ground.

“Hey…” Chen Junnan nodded. “Big star, you’re showing a bit of your old self.”

Yun Yao took a step forward and said, “Zhong Zhen, the game’s over. Stop this now.”

Cursing under his breath, Zhong Zhen got to his feet and glared viciously at Yun Yao. “Oh… you’ve already got ‘Strong Luck,’ huh?”

Chen Junnan studied the blood on Zhong Zhen’s face, then whispered behind him, “Looks like this guy’s already deaf.”

“Deaf…?” Yun Yao said. “If words won’t work, then I’ll make him back off.”

Zhong Zhen also took a step forward and said, “You have ’Strong Luck’—theoretically, I shouldn’t mess with you. But now if I kill you, I can get ‘Resonance’ too. No matter what, I have to kill this woman today, or I won’t be able to sleep at night.”

“Alright!” Chen Junnan suddenly shouted. “The Suit and Tie Dudes have just finished their trash talk. Now, camera cut to the Idol Star Team.”

“Zhong Zhen, let it go.” To make sure Zhong Zhen understood, Yun Yao enunciated each word deliberately. “’Strong Luck’ has never lost.”

“Whoa~” Chen Junnan yelled again. “Short and sweet from the Idol Star Team. Who will win this match is still up for grabs—”

Before he could finish, a clean slap landed on the back of his head.

“Hey?”

“Can you just shut up…?” Xu Qian said helplessly. “I think you aren’t hurt enough. You’re still running your mouth even in this state. Don’t you care about that girl’s safety?”

“Her?” Chen Junnan walked to the wall and slowly leaned against it. “Once she hears ‘Resonance,’ there’s no need for your grandpa to worry.”

The moment he finished speaking, Zhong Zhen came charging over. He swung his thick fist toward Yun Yao’s cheek.

Yun Yao didn’t dodge. She stood perfectly still the whole time. But Zhong Zhen’s left foot caught on his right, throwing his body off balance, and he missed.

“Damn it…” Zhong Zhen recovered and threw out his other hand, swinging a backhand slap.

Without hurrying, Yun Yao pulled a small mirror and a lipstick from her bag and started touching up her makeup in front of the mirror.

Zhong Zhen kept swinging punches and slaps around her, but bizarrely, every single one missed. Either he stumbled over a rock, or a piece of flesh blocked his way. After he finally cleared the flesh from the ground, he threw another punch, only for a section of the ceiling above to crack and fall, smashing directly onto his arm.

“You…” Zhong Zhen panted, clutching his arm, fury blazing in his eyes.

He knew that Yun Yao in her “Strong Luck” state was invincible. Her “Resonance” had even killed the Earth Snake.

How could he break this strange protective charm?

He thought for a moment, then pulled a small knife from his pocket. He looked up at Yun Yao. She was still pursing her lips at the mirror, seemingly dissatisfied with her lipstick, and gently wiped the corner of her mouth with her pinky.

“Since lethal moves don’t work…”

He bared the blade and slowly moved it toward Yun Yao’s neck. If he could just stab it into her neck, even slowly, it would kill her.

But just as the knife was about to touch her skin, it snapped in half with a *crack*. The blade fell to the ground with a slight wobble, leaving only the handle lightly pressed against Yun Yao’s pale, slender neck.

Yun Yao snapped her little mirror shut with a *click* and turned around. “Had enough?”

Zhong Zhen panted heavily, his whole body starting to tremble.

Though he couldn’t hear a thing, he understood her lips.

In Yun Yao’s eyes right now, he was nothing more than a ridiculous, unreasonable child.

And there was a broken blade on the ground. Zhong Zhen had a feeling that if he kept this up, he would end up being hurt by that very blade in some absurd and inexplicable way.

Finally, he withdrew his hand. He let out a deep sigh and said, “You actually want to save that woman… One day, you’ll regret this decision.”

With that, he dropped the knife handle on the ground, shot one last look at Yan Zhichun, and said flatly, “The world is vast, but I’ve already memorized your face and your ‘Resonance.’ You won’t get away.”

He gave a cold smirk, then turned and walked away.

“Ding-ding!” Chen Junnan, still leaning against the wall, suddenly shouted. “The match is decided! The winner of this battle is…”

“Shut up!” Yun Yao and Xu Qian yelled at the same time.

Chen Junnan shrugged helplessly and closed his mouth.

Yun Yao walked over and helped Yan Zhichun to her feet. “Are you okay?”

Yan Zhichun just smiled faintly without answering. Instead, she walked past Yun Yao and stood in front of Chen Junnan. “So you’re the ‘Scapegoat,’ huh? Interesting. I’ll remember you too.”

“Thanks.” Chen Junnan replied nonchalantly. “Your grandpa might not remember you, though.”
