Chapter 218: Mad God

Qi Xia stepped forward step by step, raising the dagger in his right hand.

Xuanwu cast a cold glance at Qi Xia, then raised her own right hand. She gave a light squeeze, and something materialized in her grasp.

It was a finger.

Qi Xia froze, feeling an icy chill in his left hand.

He looked down and saw that the index finger of his left hand had been severed.

A searing pain radiated from the wound, yet no blood spurted out.

He slowly lifted his left hand to examine it, discovering that his finger had been clearly cut by something—the cross-section was visible, but the blood inside seemed locked in place, not a single drop leaking out.

"Strange power..." Qi Xia sneered. "How absurd. Are you people really 'gods'?"

"How dare you." Xuanwu squeezed her hand again, and another finger now appeared in her palm.

Qi Xia felt as if the person before him didn’t even need to touch him—she could break his fingers one by one from a distance. The sensation was agonizing.

"Damn it..." Qi Xia’s left hand trembled slightly. Though not a drop of blood escaped, the excruciating pain tore through him. "Is this what you call 'enjoying the slaughter'?"

After hearing this, Xuanwu tossed the two fingers to the ground like trash, then swept aside the long hair covering her face.

Qi Xia realized the woman was actually smiling.

"You’re not afraid?" she asked.

"Afraid?" Qi Xia chuckled. "I’m about to kill you. What do you think?"

"Kill me...? You said kill me?!" Xuanwu nodded, her hair swaying with the motion of her head. "Good, very good. Come kill me. Hurry up and kill me..."

Qi Xia gritted his teeth, dashed forward two steps, and plunged the dagger straight into Xuanwu’s chest.

But the sensation of this thrust felt unreal.

It was as if he had driven the knife into a sandbag.

"Am I dead?" Xuanwu asked.

Qi Xia hardened his resolve and twisted the dagger viciously.

He had died from this very attack before. Even if he couldn’t defeat Xuanwu, he would at least make her suffer immensely.

But just as before, the feeling of this stab was too strange.

Xuanwu didn’t feel like a person at all, but rather a blade of grass.

Her body was incredibly easy to pierce, yet felt hollow inside.

"Am I dead now?" Xuanwu paused, asking in bewilderment.

Qi Xia was chilled by her question, and in the distance, Li Xiangling was trembling as well.

This woman was too eerie.

Qi Xia knew this might be his only chance. Now, he had to try every method available.

He pulled out the knife, aimed at Xuanwu’s neck, and stabbed again.

The same sensation—illusory, ethereal.

"Oh?" Xuanwu blinked. "Can I die like this?"

Qi Xia swallowed, slowly withdrawing the dagger. He saw a visible wound on the woman’s neck, yet not a single drop of blood.

"Why aren’t I dead?" Xuanwu asked.

"I..." Qi Xia felt like he was going mad. "Yes... why aren’t you dead?"

"Ah?!" Xuanwu’s face twisted into an exaggerated expression of disappointment. "You can’t kill me?!"

Qi Xia was completely at a loss.

This person had a knife lodged in her neck and was still standing there as if nothing had happened. What kind of creature was she?

"Is there any other way...?" Xuanwu screamed in despair. "Think of something, quick!!"

"I... I..." For the first time in the "Land of Endings," Qi Xia felt fear.

"How about stabbing the 'eyes'?" Xuanwu asked.

"Eyes...?" Qi Xia was stunned.

"Yes! Yes!" Xuanwu nodded, then raised her right hand. "This thing right here!"

As her voice fell, an eyeball appeared in her hand.

The eyeball rolled left and right, as if even it hadn’t expected to end up there.

And at that moment, Qi Xia’s left eye went completely dark.

"Ah!!!" Qi Xia clutched his eye in agony. The intense pain nearly made him lose consciousness. "You madman..."

Every hair on his body stood on end. This feeling was truly terrifying.

Xuanwu had said she would let him "enjoy the slaughter," and now it was all too real.

"Oh! Sorry!" Xuanwu, startled, quickly threw the eyeball to the ground. "I was a bit rough, but you can’t die yet. You have to kill me!!"

Qi Xia lifted his head, glaring with his hollow left eye, and viciously thrust the dagger into her eye.

This move finally worked.

Xuanwu let out a scream.

She felt pain.

Qi Xia didn’t hold back. He yanked the dagger out and stabbed again into the same spot.

But strangely, this time there was no scream.

Xuanwu lifted her head in disappointment, a dagger still protruding from her eye socket, looking utterly terrifying.

"How strange..." Xuanwu blinked. As her eyelid slid across the blade, it was sliced in two.

Li Xiangling covered her eyes in terror—it was all too horrifying.

"I thought it would hurt a lot, but it didn’t," Xuanwu said dully. "Even the eyes won’t work?"

Qi Xia clenched his teeth and pulled out the dagger. Xuanwu’s eyeball now had two dark, gaping wounds, yet she remained unaffected.

She was as unreal as a mannequin in a shopping mall.

"How about... stabbing my 'stomach'?" she muttered, and a bright red object materialized in her hand.

At that same moment, Qi Xia spat out a mouthful of sour liquid.

He knew his own "stomach" was gone.

But Xuanwu’s method of killing was utterly unique—no matter what wound she inflicted, not a drop of blood would flow.

Even if that wound was inside his own body.

Qi Xia knelt on the ground, feeling his life counting down.

"Hey!!" Qiao Jiajin yelled from outside the door. "Conman, are you in there?! Open the door!!"

Qi Xia knew that under no circumstances could he open the door, or else Qiao Jiajin would also be slaughtered by this woman.

"Maybe... the 'lungs'?" Xuanwu dropped the "stomach" on the ground and grabbed a piece of lung tissue.

"Monster..." Qi Xia felt his breathing become unbearably labored. "You monster..."

Xuanwu’s face gradually twisted into a look of utter disappointment. She crouched down, reached through her long hair with a pale arm, and grabbed Qi Xia by the hair. "Tell me... how can I die?"

"Cough..." Qi Xia coughed up a mouthful of blood.

He lifted his head, about to say something, when he suddenly noticed Li Xiangling standing behind Xuanwu, holding a chair above her head.

"No!! Don't!!" Qi Xia roared, startling Li Xiangling.

"Qi... Brother Qi..." Li Xiangling stared at him in panic. "What are you doing?"

"Don't throw your life away..." Qi Xia said painfully. "Just watch like this. She won't come after you..."

"But..." Li Xiangling’s tears began to fall. "Brother Qi, we were all going to die tonight anyway..."

"Then we can't be slaughtered by this monster..."

Qi Xia stood up again, raised the dagger, and stabbed Xuanwu once more.

This time, he had lost all hope. He simply raised and lowered the blade, leaving countless wounds on Xuanwu’s body.
