# Chapter 1340: The World
Just as the crack was being sealed again, a faceless person came rushing toward it in a panic.
Before Qi Xia could pull her back, she dove headfirst into the crack that was still healing, as if fleeing from some monster.
Qi Xia frowned. He initially wanted to pull her back, but after thinking for a few seconds, he withdrew his hand.
How could there be such a coincidence?
Why wasn't she running toward the exit? Why not toward a sparsely populated area? Instead, she had to run straight into this crack?
A "turn of events" had just appeared, and immediately another accident came to fill the gap.
Watching the woman struggle within the crack, Qi Xia furrowed his brow in contemplation.
It seemed that even at this moment, "karma" and "causality" still existed.
The fact that this person appeared here right now to fill the "turn of events" might very well have been caused by a sin Qi Xia had committed in the past.
And her departure through this crack would sow new causal seeds in another time.
When "good" and "evil" began to entangle, when "cause" and "effect" reversed and cycled.
Let "turn of events" resolve "turn of events." Let "karma" nourish "causality."
Qi Xia no longer concerned himself with the faceless person. He simply turned back to look at Tianlong.
He still lay there quietly.
He didn't move, as if lost in thought.
Even now, lying on the ground, Tianlong still didn't know what he had been fighting against.
Was it the White Ram?
No. He felt as though he had been fighting the entire world.
Qi Xia walked past the panicked pedestrians and slowly approached Tianlong. He noticed that Tianlong was completely unharmed, now staring blankly at the sky.
Tianlong gazed into the sky, dazed.
The massive ribcage pirate ship, after sending Tianlong flying, floated lightly in the air like a balloon. Though it had no eyes, Tianlong felt as though it was watching him.
What kind of scene was this?
This world seemed alive.
Aside from the White Ram, every single thing in this amusement park wanted him dead.
Qi Xia didn't speak. He seemed to be giving Tianlong time to rest, then turned and walked toward a nearby stall.
The stall sold commemorative brooches from the amusement park. The vendor had long since fled. The brooches on the display were all made from bone fragments, with patterns sketched in blood.
Qi Xia browsed for a moment, picked up a brooch decorated with a flower pattern, and put it in his pocket. Only then did he casually return to Tianlong's side.
"Tired?" Qi Xia asked.
Tianlong didn't reply. He just kept staring at the sky.
"If you still have the will to fight, you can continue," Qi Xia added. "We've dismantled less than a tenth of this place. There's still work to do."
Tianlong let out a bitter laugh. "You never even used your 'conviction.'"
"Oh?"
"The things that charged at me seemed alive—they weren't under your control at all." Tianlong asked expressionlessly, "What exactly is this amusement park...?"
"Tianlong, the problem isn't the amusement park. I told you, the reason I chose to settle things with you here is that this place is useless now. I want to tear it down and build something else."
Tianlong's expression turned grim. He felt he had been tricked.
"It has nothing to do with this amusement park... yet you deliberately brought me here?"
"No matter where you go in this world, you can't win," Qi Xia said. "The moment you stood here, everything was already settled."
"White Ram... where exactly is this place?"
"You're more perceptive than Qinglong. You should have already noticed how stable this world is," Qi Xia said. "No matter how crazy I seem, this world follows its own logic. It shows no signs of collapse under any circumstances. So is this really a dream?"
Tianlong felt that Qi Xia wasn't lying. When he first entered, everything felt bizarre. But the longer he stayed, the more stable it seemed.
Even more stable than his own dreams.
Everything here was made of flesh and blood, and every person here had no face.
Seeing Tianlong silent, Qi Xia suddenly asked, "Tianlong, do you think you have a face?"
Tianlong was stunned. As if remembering something, he tremblingly reached up to touch his own cheek—
His features were all present.
"So this... really... isn't a dream?"
"Yes," Qi Xia nodded. "I told you long ago, but you..."
Before he could finish, Tianlong suddenly swung his arm toward Qi Xia. Qi Xia's body scattered like a sand dune in a strong wind, turning into fragments of flesh and blood that drifted through the air.
After the fragments dispersed, a small bone brooch fell from midair.
Even Tianlong seemed surprised that it was so easy to "disintegrate" Qi Xia.
This proved that this world wasn't a dream—it was something else.
This was... reality?
But how could such a place exist in the real world? It was more absurd than "Paradise." How could it exist in reality?
A few seconds later, someone slowly walked up to Tianlong, bent down to pick up the bone brooch, and put it back in his pocket.
Tianlong recognized the face of the newcomer as Qi Xia's and let out a bitter smile.
A man who had just been "disintegrated" was now standing here perfectly fine.
Such a bizarre place... and it wasn't a dream?
But if it was a dream, why hadn't the dream collapsed when its master was killed?
"White Ram, you clearly entered my dream, yet now you want me to believe this isn't a dream?"
Qi Xia shook his head. "Tianlong, this is precisely one of my strategies. When you thought you had woken up, you were actually still in an endless dream. When you came here and thought you were still dreaming, you had already awakened."
Tianlong struggled to prop himself up and slowly sat up. He looked less like he had been defeated and more like he had been broken.
"Then... when did I wake up?" Tianlong asked again.
"Right before you walked through the door," Qi Xia murmured. "At that moment, did you feel your breathing become more difficult, surrounded by endless darkness?"
Tianlong laughed bitterly again.
In that moment of collapse... he really had felt his breathing grow more difficult.
But who could distinguish whether that was due to waking up?
"So I came here in a waking state... and you showed me the sights of a nightmare." Tianlong sighed helplessly, holding his forehead. "Tell me the truth—can I kill you here?"
"No," Qi Xia replied. "If you want to kill me completely, you'll need to destroy this entire world."
Tianlong looked at him, opening his mouth several times as if to speak, but finally just sighed and asked, "How did you do it?"
"What you killed wasn't me, but a part of this world," Qi Xia answered. "The more obvious your intent to kill me, the more dangerous you become."
Tianlong murmured, "You said you had no reason to keep fighting me. Yet ever since I stepped into this place, I've felt an unusually intense murderous intent."
"That's because the one who wants to kill you isn't me—it's this entire world."
"What...?" Tianlong felt as though things had taken yet another unexpected turn. But thinking back to what had just happened, it did make sense. "The world wants to kill me... but you don't?"
"How should I explain this..." Qi Xia crouched down and gently stroked the ground. "Tianlong, this world... is 'me.'"
For the first time, Tianlong felt that such a simple sentence could be so incredibly hard to understand.
