Chapter 1207: Breaking Through Walls

The old man swallowed hard and exchanged glances with the others around him.

Just seeing the sight of that centaur made everyone's mouths begin to ache in sympathetic pain.

And now they were supposed to cooperate with a "Xiao Sheng" like him to liberate the "ants"?

Black Sheep paid no attention to their stares, fixing his gaze on the centaur before him as he said, "I'll give you a chance to keep your tongue."

The centaur quickly nodded upon hearing this.

"You've lost your mask. You're no different from a 'participant' now," Black Sheep said. "Keep your mouth shut, join the rebellion, and I'll guarantee your life."

Upon hearing Black Sheep's words, the centaur's eyes flew wide. This wasn't a strategy to save his life at all—it was clearly a death sentence.

But now, with his life practically in the other's grasp, who could possibly escape the slaughter of a "Di-Ji" rank?

For now, he could only agree and look for an opportunity to call for help later.

"Alright... alright..." The centaur spoke indistinctly through the excruciating pain in his tongue. "I agree... I agree..."

"Sorry, too late."

Before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, he felt the most brutal agony his tongue had ever known, and then his vision went black as he lost consciousness.

Black Sheep held a long, rope-like tongue in his hand, gave it a shake, then turned to look at the "Ji Dao" group. A single glance sent chills down their spines.

The old man hesitated, forcing a thin smile as he asked, "That 'Xiao Sheng'... didn't he just agree?"

"He was lying."

Black Sheep tossed the tongue aside like a live fish, then said to the people before him, "Let me make one thing clear. We're allies now, but none of you better try lying to me. If I ever grow suspicious, whether I'm wrong or right, I'll kill you."

Left with no choice, the group could only agree.

After all, their mission from the start was never to kill Black Sheep—it was to liberate the "ants."

Their only comfort now was that this ruthless-looking "Xiao Sheng" was temporarily on their side.

...

Meanwhile, the crowd in the middle of the corridor was swelling past two hundred people. They surged like a tide toward both sides, but still couldn't find a clear direction to go.

Many among them, upon spotting nearby "Xiao Sheng," seemed to have their bewitched minds finally clear. They realized this wasn't a place they should be. But when they tried to turn back and flee, they found an unbroken wall of people behind them, making escape impossible.

And this was just a couple hundred—there were at least eight hundred more waiting outside to get in.

Many "Ren-Ji Xiao Sheng" slowly surrounded the crowd. But with their sheer numbers and the fact that "Ren-Ji" bodies weren't enhanced and couldn't release "echoes," they were ultimately outmatched in combat by ordinary "participants." So they didn't attack, merely standing at a distance watching the crowd. A stalemate had settled between both sides.

"Did you notify Di Long...?" one "Ren-Ji" whispered to the "Xiao Sheng" beside him.

"Yeah. Di Long will be here soon."

Di Hu and Old Sun led their squads forward at a slow pace. Before long, they found their path blocked by a massive throng of "participants."

"Whoa, what the hell..." Di Hu blinked. "What's this? Are these your people?"

Old Sun squinted, taking a closer look. Even though he couldn't recognize every single member of "Ji Dao," a quick scan told him none of these faces were familiar. They definitely weren't his people.

"Doesn't look like they're ours," Old Sun said. "So, what now?"

As the two stood there dumbfounded, Yan Zhichun appeared through a side door with a white snake. She paused at the sight.

But soon, Yan Zhichun noticed Old Sun.

"Old Sun!"

"Ah! Little sis!" Old Sun turned and spotted Yan Zhichun. "What's going on here? The place is packed with people!"

Yan Zhichun walked over behind Old Sun, surveyed the situation, and found that there were indeed many strangers gathered here, with numbers still increasing.

Which part of the "plan" was this?

Old Sun shook his head. As he turned to speak, he suddenly noticed the white snake.

"Uh..." Old Sun hesitated, then said to Yan Zhichun, "Sis, not going to introduce us?"

"Introduce...?" Yan Zhichun looked at the white snake, then back at Old Sun, and could only say, "Alright... this is my..."

She paused for a long time, at a loss for words, then finally met the white snake's eyes and said, "A sister...?"

The white snake smiled and nodded.

"Yeah." Yan Zhichun seemed to accept her own answer and nodded as well. "A good sister of mine."

Di Hu also glanced at the white snake beside Yan Zhichun. The two had crossed paths a few times before, but never realized they were on the same side.

Old Sun seemed momentarily speechless at the label, then nudged Di Hu with his elbow and said, "Brother, say something."

"Say something...?" Di Hu scratched his head. "Uh... let me say a few words... Today I met my sis through Brother Sun, and met Bai She through my sis. It's great..."

The white snake rolled her eyes hard. "Damn it, are you making a toast or something?"

"Hey... I really don't know what to say." Di Hu grinned sheepishly.

Yan Zhichun realized that in this unreliable team, she would have to be the brains.

"We need to find a way around the crowd," she said. "Are you sure Black Sheep is up ahead?"

"Positive." Di Hu snapped back to attention and nodded. "His workplace and residence are both ahead."

Yan Zhichun thought for a moment, then looked back at the room she had just come out of—the white snake's room.

"Since it's already a fight to the death..." Yan Zhichun said, "I have a plan."

"What plan?" the white snake asked.

"We go through the rooms," Yan Zhichun said. "Let's forget about these people for now. They're more of an advantage than a disadvantage here. Besides blocking our path, they'll draw a lot of attention and fire. That works in our favor."

"That's true..." The white snake nodded. "But what do you mean by 'go through the rooms'?"

"We'll break through the walls," Yan Zhichun said. "All of you have immense strength. Breaking through walls here will be easy. We'll just cut through the rooms directly and bypass the crowd."

"Huh?" The white snake faltered. "But I searched forever for that wallpaper... I..."

Yan Zhichun grabbed the white snake's hand. "Once we liberate this place, you can change the wallpaper in your room every single day. This wretched place was never your home."

The white snake opened her mouth as if to argue, but realized Yan Zhichun made complete sense.

If they kept waiting around like this, they'd probably be punished before they even accomplished anything.

"Alright..." The white snake turned and opened her room's door, then said to the group, "No time to waste. Let's go."

Di Hu, Old Sun, and those behind them quietly withdrew from the crowd and slipped into Di She's room without a sound.
