Chapter 37: Dazzling

At the peak of a high mountain, fierce winds howled.
Many Sovereigns stood atop the peak, conversing, while the war tens of millions of miles away was fully observed by these Sovereigns.
"Utreyd!" Fate Sovereign Ove smiled faintly, glancing at the nearby Destruction Sovereign, "So this is your reliance—three hundred Seven-Star Fiends and these Sovereign’s Messengers! Admirable, to gather so many Seven-Star Fiends unafraid of death. Unfortunately, your Hell side still has no advantage."
"We’ll see in the end!" the Destruction Sovereign said coldly, watching it all.

On the Star River passage tens of millions of miles away.
The armies of Hell and the Celestial Realm had descended into madness. Led by three hundred Seven-Star Fiends in three companies and numerous Sovereign’s Messengers, Hell’s army was surging with momentum. Large numbers of Six-Star Fiend-level warriors, and even a few Seven-Star Fiend fighters, launched collective attacks again and again in a frenzy.
Hell’s side, like a flood, erupted wantonly.
And the Sovereign’s Messengers, constantly dodging and ambushing, were like venomous snakes lurking in the flood.
On the Celestial Realm’s side, the Twelve-Winged Seraphim showed no fear in their eyes. They led the Celestial army in relentless resistance. One by one, Twelve-Winged Seraphim fell, but for each one lost, Hell’s side suffered even greater casualties.

"These angels are really troublesome," Beirut chuckled softly. "Fearless of death, blocking the Star River passage. Even with Hell’s side this frenzied, they can’t advance a single step further." "The main thing is, the Star River passage is only so wide and so high," Linley said, watching countless lives fade away, shaking his head. "In terms of soldier numbers, Hell’s side far exceeds the Celestial Realm this time. But the passage is only that big. At most, a thousand can fight at the same time."
"Two to three hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim, forming battle formations spread out, almost block the entire passage. And beside them, there are plenty of Celestial Realm warriors assisting."
Linley understood.
If the environment were different—say, a decisive battle on a plain—a flood of soldiers charging would make a few hundred elites unable to change the outcome. But this was a decisive battle on the Star River passage. On either side of the passage was the spatial turbulence! Falling into it, given their strength, meant certain death.

"Hmm? Those six have finally moved." Linley couldn’t help but smile.
Hidden among the Hell side’s warrior ranks, Russell, the black-robed Breyler, and the other six finally acted. Six Sovereign’s Messengers, even acting alone, could kill dozens of Twelve-Winged Seraphim. But now, these six Sovereign’s Messengers suddenly ignited Sovereign power on their bodies’ surfaces.
"Whoosh!"
These six Sovereign’s Messengers, having endured and lain in wait for so long, charged like six bloodthirsty beasts into a flock of sheep.
"Darkness!"
Breyler transmitted to the other five.
"Boom!" Six surging streams of Sovereign power formed a perfect hexagram among the six. Light flickered for a moment, and terrifying energy converged onto the black-robed Breyler. Carrying the power of all six, he coldly slashed forward—
The blade was black!
The blade light that shot out had black light flowing on its surface, while inside, it shimmered with other colors.
"Bang!"
Where the blade light passed, space collapsed.
"Not good!" Light Sovereign Augusta, watching from tens of millions of miles away, couldn’t help but exclaim softly.
Indeed, the situation had turned dire.
The blade light moved at incredible speed. Where it passed, one Twelve-Winged Seraphim battle formation instantly turned to dust, and it continued onward, reducing another Twelve-Winged Seraphim battle formation to powder before the blade light weakened and was finally shattered by various attacks.
One strike annihilated twelve Twelve-Winged Seraphim!
This scene immediately shifted the balance between the Celestial Realm and Hell.
In fact, this outcome was only natural.
Earlier, a Twelve-Winged Seraphim battle formation had killed dozens of Hell warriors in a single attack.
Six Sovereign’s Messengers forming a reincarnation battle formation to kill twelve angels was only to be expected. It was solely because the angels were in battle formations. Otherwise, they could have killed dozens with confidence.
"Haha, kill!" Hell’s side’s morale soared.
"Kill those six!" The Celestial Realm’s army commanders immediately gave orders.
Almost simultaneously—
Six angel battle formations, along with a large number of Celestial Realm soldiers at the front, launched their strongest attacks, targeting the six Sovereign’s Messengers!
However, just as the Celestial Realm began their coordinated action, Breyler and his six had already made a second decision.
"Wind!" Breyler transmitted angrily.
Instantly, six streams of Sovereign power flowed among them again. But this time, the mixed Sovereign power was wrapped in a layer of pale green Sovereign power on the outside.
"Whoosh!"
The six Sovereign’s Messengers, like formless wind, vanished into the Hell side’s crowd in an instant.
The Celestial Realm’s massive attacks landed only then, failing to harm them at all.
"Haha, exhilarating!" the burly, iron-like man laughed heartily. "Breyler, the plan you set is really good."
"Of course," the black-robed Breyler said with a faint smile. "After one attack, no matter the enemy’s reaction, immediately retreat deep into our own ranks. Then attack again, and pull back! Hmph, their attacks can at most kill some ordinary soldiers. Our Hell side doesn’t have much, but we have the most ordinary soldiers."
Then, Breyler gave the order again—
"Wind!"
The six Sovereign’s Messengers suddenly scattered outward, spreading out as they charged forward.
"Earth!"
Breyler transmitted the command again.
Six streams of Sovereign power converged once more, with thick Earth Sovereign power enveloping the outermost layer. This immensely powerful energy gathered onto the burly man, who coldly struck out with his right fist. The fist was like a mountain, pressing forward, shattering heaven and earth.
"Wind!"
The six Sovereign’s Messengers retreated again.
The angel side suffered another heavy loss, with twelve more Twelve-Winged Seraphim falling.
Although twelve wasn’t a huge number relative to the total Twelve-Winged Seraphim legion this time, given the six Sovereign’s Messengers’ speed, killing twelve per strike meant one hundred twenty in ten strikes. This angel legion had two brigades, totaling one thousand two hundred. On this passage, there were originally six hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim.
After continuous fighting, more than half of the Seraphim had been lost, leaving fewer than two hundred.
On Hell’s side, the three hundred Seven-Star Fiends were down to fewer than a hundred. Most of the Sovereign’s Messengers had died in the angel counterattacks, more than half gone.
Brutal!
"Hurry, you need to support them!" The Celestial Realm side was getting anxious.
"Quick, or it’ll be too late."
The Celestial Realm still had reinforcements—the victorious Twelve-Winged Seraphim from another passage. That passage also had six hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim, and their losses were minimal. They still had over five hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim.
But in divine combat, each second likely saw an exchange of blows.
For Breyler and his six, launching over ten consecutive attacks probably took less than thirty seconds.
The over five hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim reinforcements had to travel from the other passage to this one, pushing through the crowd to the front. Even at high speed, it would take one to two minutes.

The many Sovereigns fell silent, all feeling the intensity of the moment.
"If the over five hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim can arrive before the remaining hundred or so are wiped out, the Celestial Realm will win. If Hell’s side breaks through to the end first, Hell wins," Linley observed clearly.
Hell’s side had the Sovereign’s Messengers—Breyler and his six, plus nine others constantly ambushing and hunting angels. They alone could eliminate the remaining hundred-plus Twelve-Winged Seraphim.
"Not good, we need to speed up," Breyler transmitted to the other five. "The other passage already won, and their six hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim suffered few losses. Once that batch arrives, we’ll have no hope."
Russell transmitted back in a low voice, "Speed up. Let’s charge into the angel legion’s interior."
The other five Sovereign’s Messengers were shocked.
Until now, they had been like turtles—ambushing a bite, then pulling back, then ambushing again. This was much safer, but the kill rate was too slow.
"No choice. If we keep this up, we’ll lose for sure," the black-robed Breyler gritted his teeth. "Execute the final plan."
"Alright."
"Let’s begin."
The six Sovereign’s Messengers made their decision in an instant. Charging into the enemy ranks would mean facing attacks from all sides, and they might fall—but they might also win.
"Commander Bell, final plan," the black-robed Breyler transmitted to the highest Hell commander in the rear crowd.
"Haha, good! Win or lose, it all comes down to this final move!"
That commander immediately issued orders to the leaders of each unit.
Instantly, Hell’s army began to shift its movement.
The faces of the black-robed Breyler and his five companions turned solemn.
"Water!" Breyler transmitted.
Six streams of Sovereign power surged and flowed. Breyler and his six were like flowing water, penetrating everywhere. Silently, these six figures rushed to the very front, directly into the Celestial Realm’s formation.
The Celestial Realm side erupted in fury.
Daring to charge in?
"Combine forces, kill them!" Without hesitation, the Celestial Realm’s many warriors and angels immediately coordinated their attacks on these six.
But the six, like water, seeped through the crowd. Many attacks even hit their own people. Most importantly—the Water technique was their strongest defensive move. Among them, some had defensive Sovereign artifacts, others had offensive ones.
Their combined defense was incredibly strong.
And with the Water technique active, they survived the initial assault.
They immediately began a frenzied attack.
"Earth!"
"Darkness!" They unleashed the four strongest combined techniques—Darkness, Water, Wind, and Earth. Earth and Darkness were for offense, Wind for escape and movement, and Water for defense.
Once they charged into the angel crowd, they had no more restraints.
Enemies were all around—they just attacked freely! As for Sovereign power, Linley had given each of them a hundred drops, more than enough.
"Kill!!!" Hell’s warriors, including some Seven-Star Fiends, surged forward like a flood.
Because the angels were thrown into complete chaos by those six, unable to organize a defense against Hell’s side. Finally, the Celestial Realm began to retreat step by step.
Hell’s warriors attacked the Celestial Realm wantonly.
This also lightened the burden on Breyler and his six.
"Haha, kill all these angels!" Hell’s side went wild.
Of the remaining hundred-plus angels, more than half were killed under the frenzied assault of Breyler’s six. In truth, with their combined defense, it would take nearly a hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim working together to kill them. But in the chaos, with only a hundred or so angels total, harassed by Hell’s Seven-Star Fiends and Sovereign’s Messengers, they couldn’t form an effective attack to eliminate Breyler’s six.
In an instant—
Only fifty or sixty angels remained. Facing the tidal wave of Hell’s legion and attacks from all sides, half of them died in a flash.
Retreat!
Frantic retreat!
The ordinary warriors of the Celestial Realm, unlike the Twelve-Winged Seraphim, had self-awareness and knew when to choose.
"Too late." At that moment, the over five hundred angels finally reached the edge of the Star River passage.
But what greeted them was the routed Celestial army.
"Charge in!" These over five hundred Twelve-Winged Seraphim, amidst the flood of fleeing soldiers, were pushed back themselves, let alone able to push deeper. And Hell’s side launched material and soul attacks indiscriminately in their direction.
In almost no time, Hell’s great army surged to the end of the Star River passage.
"Buzz—"
The seven-colored light on the Star River passage converged.
Each side had secured one victory. This planar war ended in a draw.
