Chapter 30: The Supreme Divine Edict

The fiery red-haired, burly man swept his gaze over the contents of the green paper, and his expression immediately changed drastically.

Upon seeing this, the black-robed, long-haired man instantly fled, darting away.

“This time, you got lucky.” The fiery red-haired, burly man glanced at the black-robed man, but his face was full of excited smiles. “This, this is the Supreme Divine Edict?” The fiery red-haired, burly man caressed the Supreme Divine Edict, feeling the special aura contained within the green paper, and couldn’t help but burst into ecstasy.

He was merely a Seven Star Demon, not even reaching the level of a Commander.

“A piece of paper that can remain undamaged within the spatial turbulence is no ordinary thing. I reckon that only a Sovereign could create such a peculiar paper.” The fiery red-haired, burly man pondered. “It seems the contents described on it must also be true. Hmm, this thing, I’ll offer it to a Chief God. If I’m going to offer it to a Chief God, I should offer it to the strongest one. The ancestor of the Augusta family is the Radiant Lord. Yes, I’ll go there!”

The Supreme Divine Edict was useless to him, but to a Chief God, it would be of great use.

Without further hesitation, the fiery red-haired, burly man flew directly towards the Ovi Island in the Purgatory Sea. Hall.

“White Flame Stone, built entirely from White Flame Stone! The Augusta family truly deserves to be called the number one family across all planes. Just this temple alone is a priceless treasure.” The fiery red-haired, burly man, Brenner, marveled as he gazed at the core of Ovi Island, the Radiant Temple.

The guards of the Augusta family led the way beside him. “Brenner, once you’re inside the temple, don’t look around. There are plenty of important figures living in the temple. If you anger one, they might just kill you.” A silver-haired guard beside him whispered. “Also, you said you have a precious treasure to offer to the Patriarch, and you want to present it in person… If you’re deceiving the Patriarch, you’ll be in deep trouble.”

The Augusta family had many experts at the level of Mansion Lords and Commanders.

As for Seven Star Demons, they were even more numerous. Even during the heyday of the Four Divine Beasts clan, they had two to three hundred elders at the Seven Star Demon level. The Augusta family was even more formidable than the Four Divine Beasts clan. After all, besides their own clan’s experts, they also had a vast number of attached experts.

“Don’t worry. As bold as I am, I wouldn’t dare to deceive Patriarch Augusta.” Brenner said with a smile.

He was very confident. If the Supreme Divine Edict wasn’t considered precious, then what could be?

Everything went as Brenner had imagined. The Patriarch of the Augusta family, Hankin, was initially arrogant and aloof. But as soon as he saw the Supreme Divine Edict, he became extremely excited and immediately promised that the Augusta family would reward him handsomely. At the same time, Patriarch Hankin immediately burned a special magical pattern paper to notify the Radiant Lord.

“Remember, the Lord will tell you when to speak. Also, while kneeling, don’t raise your head to stare at the Lord.” After burning the magical pattern paper, Hankin quickly instructed.

“Yes, my lord.” Brenner was both nervous and excited. This was his first time seeing a Chief God!

Just then, powerful streams of Radiant Chief God power appeared in the temple hall. The dense, milky-white Radiant Chief God power quickly merged together, condensed into a human form, and then directly transformed into the appearance of a human. This person wore a loose white robe, embroidered with golden patterns.

“Chief God.” Brenner immediately knelt down, pressing his head close to the ground, extremely respectful.

“Father.” Patriarch Hankin bowed respectfully.

“Hankin, is there something?” A gentle yet resonant voice sounded.

“Is that the Chief God speaking? What does a Chief God look like?” Brenner’s heart was filled with anxiety as he constantly pondered.

Hankin, however, looked respectfully at his father. The Radiant Lord was tall and imposing, his loose white robe accentuating his stature. His golden hair was as dazzling as the sun, and his skin was extremely fair, like sparkling jade. He had no beard, and his chin was smooth, but his eyebrows were the same gold as his hair.

His golden eyebrows hung down like two strands of sideburns.

The Radiant Lord’s gaze was as warm and gentle as jade. Yet, just standing there, he made one feel as if they were facing the heavens and the earth.

“Father, this is Brenner. He offered a treasure, and upon seeing it, I immediately summoned you.” As he spoke, Hankin produced the green paper in his hand. “This paper should be the Supreme Divine Edict.”

“The Supreme Divine Edict?”

The Radiant Lord’s originally warm gaze instantly sharpened, shooting towards the green paper like two arrows.

“Pfft, pfft!”

Invisible light swords struck the green paper, sending it flying, but the paper itself remained completely unharmed.

“Haha, Hankin, you’ve done well. This is very likely the Supreme Divine Edict.” As he spoke, the Radiant Lord reached out, and the green paper fell into his hand. The Radiant Lord carefully read the contents of the green paper, and as he read, a smile appeared on his face. “It’s indeed real.”

The Radiant Lord had seen the previous Supreme Divine Edicts and could easily determine its authenticity.

The Radiant Lord’s gaze swept over Brenner, who was still kneeling, and said with a smile, “Rise and speak.” “Thank you, Chief God!” Brenner trembled with excitement and quickly stood up, but still kept his body slightly bowed.

“Where did you obtain this Supreme Divine Edict?” the Radiant Lord asked.

“Reporting to the Chief God, I obtained it by chance when I was fighting and killing someone. I tore through space, and this Supreme Divine Edict flew out from within. I happened to get it. The location of our battle was above the Purgatory Sea.” Brenner still didn’t dare to look up and directly at the Chief God. He could only keep his head lowered, his gaze fixed on the white robe.

Upon hearing this, the Radiant Lord’s smile deepened.

“Haha, great Life Sovereign, you have willed it so, sending this Supreme Divine Edict to my Radiant Divine Realm. It seems that this time, the Sovereign’s mission is still meant for me to complete.” The Radiant Lord couldn’t help but laugh.

The Radiant Lord knew very well!

The spatial turbulence was vast and boundless. If an object or a person was within the spatial turbulence, it was nearly impossible to move in a certain direction by their own power. Only those with the power of a Chief God could move freely. As for Highgods, even Paragons, were helpless in the spatial turbulence, unable to control their own movements.

Since they couldn’t control their movements, it was extremely rare for them to even get close to the edge of a plane.

Even if they got close, how could it be so coincidental that a spatial rift would appear nearby?

A normal super expert who was banished would not escape even in a billion years!

However, the Sovereign’s mission was issued by the Sovereign. How could the Sovereign allow this Supreme Divine Edict to remain in the spatial turbulence forever? Therefore, under the Sovereign’s control, even if this Supreme Divine Edict entered the spatial turbulence, it would quickly reappear in another plane. And now, the Supreme Divine Edict had arrived in the Radiant Divine Plane.

No wonder the Radiant Lord believed that the Sovereign intended to help him!

“You have done very well.” The Radiant Lord looked at Brenner before him and said with a smile, “Uman is dead, and I happen to be short of a Chief God’s Envoy. You will be the one.”

Brenner’s face flushed red with excitement. “I’ve become a Chief God’s Envoy? I’ve become a Chief God’s Envoy?” Brenner still felt like he was dreaming, unable to believe it. He had leaped from an ordinary Seven Star Demon to an envoy under the great Radiant Lord, a huge rise in status. And he would surely receive a Chief God artifact!

“Kneel down,” Patriarch Hankin sent a divine sense message.

Brenner snapped back to reality and quickly knelt down. “Thank you, Chief God.”

“Hmm.” The Radiant Lord nodded slightly.

“Father,” Patriarch Hankin quickly bowed and said, “Actually, the news on this Supreme Divine Edict has already spread not long ago.”

“Oh?” The Radiant Lord frowned in confusion.

“The news only spread in the Infernal Realm, and I only learned of it recently.” Hankin quickly continued, “That piece of news described the three tokens in detail, no different from this Supreme Divine Edict. It just added a few points. The news said that one of the three tokens, the Nine Spiritual Pearls, and the Supreme Divine Edict were in the hands of the Paragon Highgod Linley. This news caused a huge stir in the Infernal Realm. Later, the news was deemed false.”

The Radiant Lord’s golden eyebrows lifted. “Linley?”

“Yes, Linley,” Hankin quickly replied.

“It seems the authenticity of that news is indeed questionable.” The Radiant Lord said with a faint, indifferent smile. “That news said the Supreme Divine Edict was in Linley’s hands. But in reality, the Supreme Divine Edict flew from the spatial turbulence into my Radiant Divine Plane and fell into my hands. It seems the one who created that news was likely trying to frame Linley.”

Hankin quickly added, “Father, I believe it’s possible that Linley obtained the Supreme Divine Edict, then tore open a spatial rift and deliberately discarded it. After all, knowing the contents of the Supreme Divine Edict is enough. It has no other significance.”

The Radiant Lord nodded slightly.

“That’s also possible.” The Radiant Lord pondered for a moment.

Hankin immediately said, “Father, the news of the Sovereign’s mission circulating in the Infernal Realm was deemed false. But now, it seems the news is clearly true. The claim that Linley obtained the Nine Spiritual Pearls and the Supreme Divine Edict might have also been true at the time. Of course, the Supreme Divine Edict is definitely not with Linley now. But the Nine Spiritual Pearls are very likely in his possession.”

“I didn’t expect to find a trace of one of the three tokens so quickly.” The Radiant Lord nodded with a smile.

“Father, I have another piece of news for you. Just a few months ago, Chegwin was banished into the spatial turbulence by Linley.” Hankin quickly added, “But it’s troublesome; Chegwin has no divine clone outside.” The Augusta family’s intelligence transmission speed was extremely fast.

“What’s this? It involves this Linley again?” The Radiant Lord couldn’t help but frown.

“It’s related to one of the three tokens, the Red Diamond Crystal,” Hankin quickly said.

“Oh, another one?” The Radiant Lord became interested.

He didn’t care about Chegwin’s death. But any one of the three tokens was enough to attract his attention.

“Although Chegwin angered Linley to seize the Red Diamond Crystal, he discovered that the Red Diamond Crystal was a fake. Because Chegwin offended him, Linley, in a fit of anger, banished him,” Hankin quickly said.

“Oh.” The Radiant Lord was too lazy to bother with this.

The conflicts between gods were not something a Chief God would easily interfere with.

“Hankin, who is this Linley?” the Radiant Lord suddenly asked.

Hankin immediately replied, “Father, this Linley is considered a genius. He is the strongest expert of the Four Divine Beasts clan. He became famous in the Infernal Realm not long ago. After entering the Planar War, he was nearly killed by Magnus, but Linley broke through in a life-or-death crisis, reaching the Paragon level. During the decisive battle of the Planar War, he instead kicked Magnus into the spatial turbulence. Moreover, Linley has a very good relationship with Beirut. Beirut has a descendant, Bebe, who is like a brother to Linley.”

“Has a good relationship with Beirut?” The Radiant Lord said coldly, “Mentioning this Beirut makes me want to kill him.” A rare glint of murderous intent appeared in the Radiant Lord’s eyes.

“Even if you gave Beirut ten times the courage, he wouldn’t dare to enter my Radiant Divine Plane. He only dares to hide in the Infernal Realm,” Hankin said with a laugh.

If Linley had heard this, he would have been shocked. It was clear that Beirut had never been to the Radiant Divine Plane, yet he had lied to Linley, saying he had visited the Radiant Lord. “The Infernal Realm… I haven’t been there in a long time.”

The Radiant Lord was about to leave.

“Father, although Linley might have the Nine Spiritual Pearls, some Chief Gods have already investigated him and demanded them. This suggests that Linley might not have them,” Hankin quickly said.

“Even if there’s only a one percent chance, we can’t let it go. Better to kill a thousand innocents than let one guilty person escape.”

The Radiant Lord said indifferently, “Furthermore, he is from the Four Divine Beasts clan and has such a deep connection with this Beirut.” After saying this, the Radiant Lord’s figure completely dissipated.

A faint smile appeared on Hankin’s face as he murmured, “Better to kill a thousand innocents than let one guilty person escape?”
