Chapter 7: A Spark
Chapter Four Today!
In the Blood Battle Arena stands.
Many people were discussing, and the topic almost always revolved around Linley, who was currently on the Blood Battle Stage. Just moments ago, Linley had successfully completed his hundredth battle. But with that success, the audience also understood—it would likely be hard to see Linley fight again.
“Hey, you were shouting the loudest just now, calling him boss, boss. Do you know Lord Lei?” A silver-haired girl glanced at Bebe beside her.
“Of course I know him, he’s my boss,” Bebe said, touching his nose with confidence.
“I could just as easily say he’s my big brother,” the silver-haired girl snorted, then looked at Linley with some admiration. Having grown up in the Nine Nether Domain, she was influenced by the environment. Her reverence for the strong was even greater than in other parts of the Netherworld.
“You don’t believe me,” Bebe said, at a loss for words with this silver-haired girl.
Just then—
A deep voice echoed through the Blood Battle Arena: “Everyone!” As the voice rang out, a figure flew to the air above the Blood Battle Stage, adjacent to Linley. This person wore a golden robe and had dazzling golden hair. He smiled and said loudly, “Today, our Blood Battle Arena has produced another hundred-battle victor. He is—Lei!”
Linley nodded and smiled at the golden-haired man.
Linley was waiting for the proof of a hundred-battle victory—the Blood Battle Seal. With this seal, he would truly be qualified to challenge the Nine Nether Lord.
“Everyone, quiet down!” the golden-haired man announced loudly.
Immediately, the discussions in the Blood Battle Arena stands ceased, and all eyes turned to him.
“Now, I will present this Blood Battle Seal, representing glory, to the hundred-battle victor, Lei,” the golden-haired man said, taking out a red seal shaped like a six-pointed star. He handed it to Linley with a smile. “Linley, from today onward, your name and the record of these hundred battles will be displayed in our Blood Battle Arena.”
Linley took it with a smile.
“So this is it,” Linley muttered, looking down at it. These hundred battles were all for the sake of earning the right to challenge the Nine Nether Lord.
“Of course, this Blood Battle Seal also means you are now qualified to challenge the great Lord of my Red Rock Domain!” the golden-haired man announced with a laugh. “Mr. Lei, I ask you: do you wish to challenge the Lord of the Red Rock Domain?” As soon as he said this, the entire Blood Battle Arena buzzed with excitement again.
“Challenge the Lord!”
“Challenge!”
“Lei, challenge the Lord!”
A massive crowd in the Blood Battle Arena stands shouted. But everyone knew that this question was always asked when the Blood Battle Seal was awarded. The audience joined in the excitement, hoping to see a battle involving the Nine Nether Lord. Yet everyone understood—
This was just a formality.
Challenging the Nine Nether Lord was an extremely rare occurrence in the Nine Nether Domain, happening only a few times every hundred million years. Those who dared to challenge the Nine Nether Lord usually had some confidence and backing. Although Linley had performed well, in the audience’s eyes, he was still far from the level of the Nine Nether Lord.
After all, whether it was Pam or Theobald, compared to the Nine Nether Lord, they were like infants versus adults.
“You say Lei is your boss. So, tell me, will Lei challenge the Nine Nether Lord?” the silver-haired girl asked, looking at Bebe with a smile. Bebe nodded firmly and said, “Without a doubt, my boss will definitely challenge the Nine Nether Lord!”
“Haha…” the silver-haired girl chuckled softly. “You can’t even lie.”
“Just watch and see,” Bebe replied.
“Actually, the reason I came to fight in the Blood Battle Arena—” Linley’s voice suddenly rang out.
The noise in the Blood Battle Arena immediately died down.
Linley had a smile on his face. “—was to earn the qualification to challenge the Red Rock Lord!”
Suddenly, there was dead silence.
Everyone stared at Linley. The golden-haired man beside him looked at him in disbelief. “No way. Mr. Lei, are you really going to challenge the Red Rock Lord today? This is insane, absolutely insane!” Hundred-battle victors were impressive, but one appeared every few years.
But challenging the Nine Nether Lord? That happened only a few times every hundred million years.
“No way,” the silver-haired girl said, feeling a bit tense. She glanced at Bebe, who gave her a confident smile.
Everyone listened intently, their hearts full of anticipation.
“Now that I’ve finally earned this qualification,” Linley said, looking around at the crowd, “I stand here today, before all of you, and publicly declare: I formally issue a—challenge!!! to the Red Rock Lord!”
“Challenge!!!”
That single word echoed through the Blood Battle Arena, and everyone fell silent for a long time.
This was the first time in tens of millions of years that someone in the Red Rock Domain had dared to challenge the mighty Red Rock Lord!
The Red Rock Lord was noble! Powerful!
Those who challenged him had all fallen, one after another.
But the strong possessed unyielding hearts. For their dreams and goals, even if it meant death, they would continue to challenge, to push forward… until one day, they would defeat the Red Rock Lord and become the new ruler. Yet in this process… many, many had died!
Over a million people in the stands stared at Linley, who stood at the center.
In their eyes, Linley was a fearless warrior daring to challenge the authority of the Nine Nether Lord!
“Lei!” A silver-haired elder was the first to call out solemnly.
“Lei!” Immediately, a large group around him joined in.
“Lei!” The entire Blood Battle Arena resounded with a unified chant.
Like thunder shaking the heavens and earth, these people used the only way they could to cheer for Linley, to encourage him! In their eyes, anyone who dared to challenge the Nine Nether Lord was a hero! A fearless hero!
Almost everyone in the Red Rock Domain wanted to challenge the Nine Nether Lord, to become the new ruler themselves. But they knew their own strength; they didn’t even have that much courage. Yet deep down… they all harbored that desire. And now, Linley was challenging. Naturally, this crowd saw him as a representative of their collective wish—
They hoped Linley would win!
Even though, deep down, they believed he would die, just like all the others who had challenged the Lord before.
Inside the Blood Battle Arena, before over a million people, the newly promoted hundred-battle victor, Lei, publicly announced his challenge to the Red Rock Lord! This news spread like a spark dropped into a field of dry grass, quickly reaching every corner of the Red Rock Domain. The over a hundred million residents all discussed it.
They were all waiting!
Waiting for the battle between Linley and the Red Rock Lord!
Inside a hotel in Red Rock Domain City, a private room.
Linley narrowed his eyes, carefully examining the robust young man in a short shirt and trousers. “Just like in the projection.”
“Hmph.” The Red Rock Lord turned to look at them. His vertical purple pupils sent a chill through Linley and Bebe. Although they had seen the projection, its clarity was limited. Linley could only make out two figures fighting, not the details of the pupils.
“Lord,” Linley began.
The Red Rock Lord, sensing that these two were not weak, spoke coldly, “I invited you two here today because I can’t be bothered to fight for the sake of an audience. I also have no interest in killing you, Lei. So, publicly withdraw your challenge and go back to training.”
Linley and Bebe were taken aback.
“Hey, why say that?” Bebe couldn’t help but interject.
“Red Rock Lord, there’s no need to say more. I look forward to fighting you,” Linley said.
The Red Rock Lord frowned at Linley.
“Hmph!” With a flick of his hand—
“Crack!” It was like a whip striking the air, hitting the space itself. With that simple flick, a punch was thrown, and his fist smashed into the air.
“Boom!” “Boom!” “Boom!” “Boom!”…
The space directly burst open, creating one hole after another, spreading like rings within rings. The spatial tears continued to explode, forming a massive gap that stretched over ten meters before finally dissipating.
“What a terrifying punch,” Linley’s eyes widened. “Earth’s pulse, earth element, the mystery of power, life force… I can sense four mysteries in that single punch. Whether he possesses a fifth, I can’t tell. Too strong. No wonder he can shatter high-level divine artifacts with one blow.” Linley had to admit that the Red Rock Lord’s understanding of the Laws of the Earth far surpassed his own.
“If you’re confident you can take that punch, then go ahead and challenge me,” the Red Rock Lord said indifferently.
Gan Mo Lei, standing nearby, watched with a smile. He believed Linley would definitely back down.
“Then please, Red Rock Lord, tell me the time and place of the battle,” Linley said.
