Chapter 3: Chapter Arrives!
Within the Lord’s Mansion of the Crimson Rock Territory.
At this moment, the Crimson Rock Lord was lying back in a chair, his eyes closed.
The Crimson Rock Lord stood only one meter seventy tall, indeed considered short in the Infernal Realm. He appeared very gaunt, and now he wore a sleeveless short shirt, revealing arms that seemed forged from iron. Even with the shirt covering him, that majestic, powerful aura could not be concealed.
This was the Crimson Rock Lord, one of the eighty-one lords of the Nine Nether Domain.
“My Lord.” A young man in a black robe with silver hair approached and bowed.
“Hmm?” The Crimson Rock Lord opened his eyes. His pupils were actually vertical, and purple! It was enough to make one feel a chill.
“My Lord, a formidable expert has appeared in the Blood Battle Arena of our Crimson Rock Territory,” the black-robed, silver-haired youth said respectfully. “This man is called Lei. He has already won sixty consecutive matches. Based on his performance in these sixty matches, I estimate he has at least the strength of a Seven-Star Demon. This person is proficient in the Laws of the Earth. My Lord, would you like to go watch his battle?”
“The Laws of the Earth?” The Crimson Rock Lord’s thick, black eyebrows rose slightly. He then smiled faintly and closed his eyes, saying, “Since it’s an expert in the Laws of the Earth, I don’t need to go in person. You handle this matter, Gamolei. Also, record it using a floating image. If anything surprises you, bring the floating image for me to view.”
“Yes, my Lord.” Gamolei bowed.
Gamolei knew very well that although the Crimson Rock Lord had not yet achieved Great Perfection in the Laws of the Earth, he was still well-versed in all the various attacks of those Laws.
However, the Crimson Rock Lord did not understand…
Linley’s Blackstone Space had already transcended the category of profound mysteries. It was the innate divine ability of Reisgem. Linley could only execute it by relying on the Blackstone.
On Linley’s seventh day at the Blood Battle Arena.
The crowd in the Blood Battle Arena’s stands was exceptionally large that day. Within the Crimson Rock Territory, it had been a long time since anyone had achieved such a long winning streak in the arena. Many people wanted to see… just how far this man named Lei could go. Whether he could draw out some true Seven-Star Demon-level experts.
“This battle is over! Haha, everyone must have been waiting a long time. Next up is Lei, who has already won sixty consecutive battles!” The announcer’s voice suddenly rose in pitch.
Suddenly—
A wave of cheers erupted from the stands, rising and falling. The lower-level battles earlier had failed to rouse some people’s spirits. But the moment they heard Lei was coming out, their eyes lit up, and the cheers came one after another. At an inconspicuous side of the stands, a black-robed, silver-haired youth and a black-haired middle-aged man sat side by side.
“Gamolei,” the black-haired middle-aged man said with a faint smile. “Did the Lord send you?”
“Just came to take a look,” Gamolei replied with a smile. “This man also cultivates the Laws of the Earth, nothing significant enough to warrant the Lord’s attention. By the way, Theobald. Are you interested in this Lei?”
“I just came to watch today. But my old friend Pam has already signed up. If he can defeat Pam, then I’ll go test this kid’s strength!” The black-haired middle-aged man, Theobald, said with a calm smile. Gamolei’s eyes lit up. “Pam is going to fight?”
As the two were talking—
“Boom!” The heavy sword of Blackstone sent his opponent flying.
“I surrender!” the man shouted hastily.
Linley sheathed his sword and stood in the air, shaking his head inwardly. “To challenge the Nine Nether Lord, I need a hundred consecutive victories. It’s truly a waste of time.” Linley had gone through seventy-one battles without feeling the slightest threat. His strongest opponents were only at the Six-Star Demon level.
When Linley was a Demigod, he could already kill ordinary Seven-Star Demons.
Now, as a God, he possessed the strength of an ordinary Asura. Dealing with these people was naturally very easy.
“Ladies and gentlemen! I now announce a surprising piece of news! Lei’s next opponent is none other than our Crimson Rock Territory’s own Mr. Pam, a former Hundred-Victory Champion!!!” The excited voice echoed throughout the Blood Battle Arena, and the arena fell silent for a moment.
Even Gamolei and Theobald, who had been talking, turned their heads to look.
“Pam is going to fight,” the black-haired man Theobald said with a smile.
The momentary silence of the Blood Battle Arena was instantly shattered by renewed uproar. The shouts grew even louder, and the massive audience roared: “Lei, defeat that Pam!!!”
“Pam!!!”
“Lei!!!”
The entire Blood Battle Arena seemed to boil over. Even many calm people were shouting wildly, cheering for their respective champions. Clearly, Linley, who had gained immense popularity in a short time, seemed to have louder support. But Pam was, after all, a former Hundred-Victory Champion.
Two powerhouses going head-to-head?
Who would win?
Such a battle was the most exciting and frenzied time in the Blood Battle Arena.
“Oh, a former Hundred-Victory Champion?” Linley raised an eyebrow and turned to look. Just then, Bebe’s voice sounded in Linley’s mind: “Boss, this is a former Hundred-Victory Champion. You can’t be careless anymore. If you lose… then I’ll take over. I’ll go challenge the Lord.”
Linley couldn’t help but smile.
“Whoosh!” A green blur shot out from the challenger’s passage and then hovered in midair. Linley looked carefully—
Pam wore a green robe, with long white eyebrows hanging down. Although his hair and brows were white, his face was as youthful as a boy’s. Pam always had a smile on his face. Now, he squinted at Linley and said, “Lei? It’s rare to meet a good opponent in the Crimson Rock Territory. Don’t disappoint me.”
Linley smiled faintly. “Make your move,” he said.
“Oh, quite arrogant,” Pam said with a faint smile. Suddenly, he flicked his wrist, and a flash of green light appeared.
The battle between Linley and Pam drew the full attention of everyone in the stands. Even Bebe stared intently at the arena. Only Theobald and Gamolei, while secretly communicating via divine sense, watched the impending great battle.
“Gamolei, who do you think will win?” Theobald transmitted.
“It should be Lei,” Gamolei transmitted back. “I feel that this Lei’s strength is at least on your level. As for Pam, although he has also reached the Seven-Star Demon level, it’s barely so. His material attacks and soul attacks, while decent, aren’t exceptionally powerful. However, since he cultivates the Water Element, defeating him won’t be easy. Pam should be able to hold out for a while.”
“Same as I thought.”
Theobald also smiled. “When I defeated Pam back then, it took some effort. Cultivators of the Water Element are mostly troublesome to deal with.”
As the two were discussing, their expressions suddenly froze.
The entire Blood Battle Arena was silent for a moment. Then, it erupted into a roaring frenzy, with everyone talking at once. The whole arena became a cacophony of noise. No one could understand what had just happened. Not only the audience—
Even Gamolei and Theobald couldn’t understand.
“How could this be?” Gamolei said in disbelief.
“Did Pam… lose on purpose?” Theobald was also puzzled.
The battle had gone like this: Linley activated the Blackstone Space, enveloping his opponent. Pam was indeed strong enough to resist and not fall. However, his speed was no match for Linley’s. Linley used his speed and the Violet Blood Soft Sword to attack.
But Pam’s defense was clearly formidable. Without using Dragonform, Linley’s attack power couldn’t break through Pam’s defenses.
Dragonform was one of Linley’s trump cards. Unwilling to use it, Linley instead used Soul Chaos. After reaching the God level, when Linley used Soul Chaos, even an ordinary Seven-Star Demon like Pam would have their soul muddled for an instant.
In that brief moment, Linley directly sliced off Pam’s head with his sword.
Pam’s head flew up and then reconnected with his body.
“Thank you!” Pam said gratefully. If Linley had destroyed his head, Pam would have died.
He had lost without complaint. The combination of Blackstone Space and Soul Chaos was the ultimate technique of Reisgem, the Commander of the Abyssal Prison. Losing to this technique was only fitting.
“Whoosh!” Theobald suddenly stood up, though one of his divine clones remained seated. He stared at Linley, who was hovering above the Blood Battle Arena. “Gamolei, I’m going down to test him.” He left a divine clone behind, worried that Linley might use a killing move. Although Linley had shown mercy before, that might not always be the case.
“Be careful!” Gamolei quickly said.
“Don’t worry. It won’t be that easy for him to beat me,” Theobald said, then walked away.
Many people even set Linley as their target! A goal to surpass!
“Ladies and gentlemen! Today, Lei has already won nine consecutive victories, and one of his opponents was even Pam! But even Pam lost to Lei. And now, for the tenth match of the day, the challenger is right here beside me. To be honest, I’m excited about the upcoming battle myself. The person next to me is an even stronger expert than Pam! Can you guess who he is?”
Instantly, the entire Blood Battle Arena’s audience erupted in excited shouts.
It was already rare to witness a battle between Seven-Star Demons, and now there was another one? And the opponent seemed even stronger!
“He is… Theobald!” The announcer’s voice rose to a crescendo.
Above the Blood Battle Arena.
Linley still stood calmly in the air, watching the excited, shouting crowd in the stands. He was a bit curious. “Theobald? How strong can he be?” Linley looked toward the challenger’s passage. A black-haired middle-aged man floated out gracefully. As soon as he entered the Blood Battle Arena, he looked at Linley.
“I didn’t expect you to also use soul attacks, and such peculiar ones at that,” the black-haired man said. He had already seen Pam outside the challenger’s passage and spoken with him. But Pam also thought Linley had used some strange soul attack that had left him in a daze.
Linley smiled faintly. “Enough talk. Make your move.”
Theobald frowned.
“Hmph.” He narrowed his eyes in anger.
“Swish! Swish!”
Two beams of black light shot abruptly from Theobald’s eyes, heading straight for Linley. Linley was startled and quickly retreated. “Such a peculiar soul attack.” The soul attack was too fast; Linley couldn’t dodge in time. The two beams of black light directly entered his body.
“Sizzle…” Linley’s soul force, like ethereal sword waves, resisted the black light at the breach.
Most of the power of the black light was consumed by the soul defense Sovereign artifact. The remaining power was not enough to threaten Linley.
Blackstone Space and Soul Chaos swept toward the opponent almost instantly.
Theobald’s soul cultivation was clearly not profound enough. He also fell into a daze and was directly decapitated by Linley’s sword.
“You lose!” Linley said coldly.
The entire Blood Battle Arena fell silent again.
“What happened?” Gamolei quickly asked. “A very powerful soul attack,” Theobald shook his head and said. “I was dazed for an instant and was directly defeated.”
“A soul attack?” Gamolei felt relieved inwardly. “This Lei is indeed strong. But if he meets my Lord, he will definitely lose.”
His Lord, the Crimson Rock Lord, feared soul attacks the least. In fact, this was also the reason Linley used Soul Chaos. Using this move… the Crimson Rock Lord would not be the least bit afraid.
After these two great battles on the seventh day, Linley’s winning streak could no longer be stopped. He achieved a clean sweep! Linley won all his matches on the eighth, ninth, and tenth days, becoming the first new Hundred-Victory Champion in the Crimson Rock Territory in several years.
