Chapter 21: I Want Him Dead! (Three Chapters Updated!)
"You tricked me!" Sekra stared at his wife, his eyes burning with fury. "The child in your belly belongs to someone else." Sekra had always doted on his wife; he had even gone to Free Castle to buy her clothes. But who would have thought his wife had another man?
And the child in her belly belonged to someone else!
The Bloodline Titan clan was an extremely powerful family in the Abyss, with astonishing influence. On the surface, Moro Island was said to be governed by five families, but in truth, the other four families were nothing more than vassals of the Bagshaw family!
The Bagshaw family was the Bloodline Titan clan—a secret known to very few.
At least, Sekhri didn't know. Otherwise, she would never have excitedly run to tell her husband she was carrying his child.
"No, it's not!" Sekhri quickly shook her head.
"This woman still won't admit it," the clan leader, Bockway, said angrily. "Son, this is a disgrace to our family. If this woman refuses to confess, destroy the entire branch of the Garrod family she belongs to!"
Sekhri trembled.
The Garrod family, one of the five great families, was vast, with many branches. Destroying one branch was as simple as a single word from the true masters of Moro Island—the Bagshaw family.
"Speak!" Sekra stared coldly at his wife.
Sekra valued his pride immensely. He often boasted of being a member of the Bloodline Titan clan, and as the clan leader's son, he was of the purest lineage, the most noble. He was arrogant. Now, with his wife carrying another man's child, he was utterly enraged!
His face twisted, turning an ugly purple.
"Speak now!" Sekra kicked Sekhri, sending her crashing into a nearby rockery. "Otherwise, you and your family branch will all die!" Sekra roared madly.
"I'll talk, I'll talk!" Sekhri cried out, on the verge of hysteria.
In truth, she didn't even know whose child she carried. Recently, she had been juggling two men: Sekra and Hisse. She had slept with both of them. She herself had no idea who the father was.
Originally, Sekhri thought, since she didn't know, she might as well claim it was Sekra's. After all, he couldn't tell the difference.
Unfortunately, she didn't know that the Bagshaw family was the Bloodline Titan clan!
"I don't know whose child it is either," Sekhri said, seeing Sekra about to explode. "But I'm sure it's either yours or Hisse's!"
"Hisse?"
Sekra froze, then threw his head back and burst into mad laughter. "Hahaha..." The laughter was wild, and a faint blood-red glow began to emanate from his body. He, Sekra, the favored son of heaven, had never suffered such humiliation.
Was there anything more shameful than his woman carrying another man's child?
"Hisse, I want him dead!!!" Sekra snarled viciously, a bloodthirsty gleam in his eyes, like a rabid wolf ready to devour.
At Tarosa's residence, Linley had been staying comfortably for the past few days. Every day, he watched Lomu's ten battles and chatted with old friends. As for Aichi, Betz, and the others, they had long since left Moro Island.
"This Lomu is truly strong," Linley said, pushing open the courtyard gate as they walked and talked. "That one strike was unstoppable. He cleaved his opponent in half."
"He's skilled in both physical and soul attacks," Tarosa added admiringly.
Olivia chimed in, "And his speed is astonishing. This Lomu is too powerful. Every battle is so effortless; no one has managed to last more than a couple of exchanges. They're all defeated in one move."
Linley recalled the scene in the arena and felt a shiver. Lomu in the arena was incredibly arrogant, ignoring everyone, but he had the strength to back it up.
"Linley, you're back," Dylin said with a smile, descending from upstairs. Linley and the others greeted him. "Dylin, where's Hisse?"
"Hisse?" Dylin frowned and lowered his voice. "He's sleeping!"
"Sleeping?"
God-level experts didn't need sleep, and Hisse usually didn't sleep. But ever since his relationship with Sekhri fell apart, Hisse had become despondent, often sleeping lazily.
Tarosa shook his head and sighed. "Don't disturb him. Let him sleep."
As Linley and the others gathered and chatted, the Bagshaw family's young master, Sekra, was scowling. He led three black-armored warriors out of the family estate. These three black-armored warriors were the Bagshaw family's elite guards.
"This Hisse dares to stay in the island guard quarters!" Sekra grew angrier. The man who had an affair with his wife was living on his own turf!
"Let's go!" Sekra shot into the air, flying straight toward the island guard residential area. The three black-armored warriors followed silently.
In moments, Sekra arrived at the island guard area. The patrolling guards immediately came forward. Seeing the four figures, especially the three black-armored warriors, the guards were shocked. The silent black-armored warriors stood like three icebergs, exuding a suffocating pressure.
"Go, summon a thousand-man squad immediately!" Sekra flipped his hand, revealing a blood-red Moro token.
"The Blood Moro Token!" The patrol squad exclaimed in surprise, then quickly bowed respectfully. "Yes, sir." They were puzzled about why he needed a thousand-man squad, but with the Blood Moro Token, he could easily command one.
Soon, a thousand-man squad assembled.
"Young Master Sekra," the squad leader, a thousand-man commander, recognized him. "What's this about?"
"Don't ask. Follow me!" Sekra said coldly.
The commander was startled. He noticed Sekra's unusual expression today. In the past, Sekra would joke and laugh, but today his face was grim, and the aura he emitted felt dangerous.
"Whoosh!"
Sekra flew through the air, the three black-armored warriors behind him, followed by the imposing thousand-man squad of island guards.
"Number 306!" Sekra remembered the number of Hisse's residence that his wife had mentioned. In the island guard quarters, ordinary soldiers had large numbers, but 306 was a small number, usually reserved for special individuals—like the hundred-battle champions among upper-tier gods.
At Tarosa's residence, Linley and the others sat together.
"Tarosa, you really won't come with me?" Linley asked again. "Hisse has agreed to leave with us."
After all, Moro Island wasn't Tarosa's home. Linley wanted to gather everyone at the Four Divine Beasts clan in Azure Prefecture. Hisse was willing to leave, while O'Brien would follow Tarosa, bound by an agreement from when Tarosa gave him a mid-tier god spark.
"No, we don't want to leave," Tarosa said with a smile, shaking his head.
Dylin also shook his head. "We've lived here a long time and consider it our home in the Abyss. We don't want to leave."
Linley could only smile helplessly.
"After Lomu's battles are over, we'll leave in a couple of days," Linley said. "It's a shame. I wanted to stay with you, but I have to return to Azure Prefecture." Linley didn't force the issue. If they didn't want to come, so be it.
"Sorry, Linley," Dylin said apologetically.
"It's fine," Linley replied, shaking his head.
Suddenly, Linley was startled. He looked up and saw a large number of island guards in the sky.
"Why so many island guards? What's happening?" Tarosa asked in surprise.
But Linley spotted the leader of the group—the red-haired, stern-faced man, Sekra!
"What's he doing here?" Linley's heart tightened.
At that moment, the group swooped down. Sekra, with the three black-armored warriors, landed directly in the courtyard. A hundred other guards also landed, while the rest hovered in the air.
"Boss!"
"Linley!"
Dylia, Bebe, and Olivia all stood up immediately. They saw Sekra.
"Is he here for us?" Dylia sent a mental message.
Linley stared at Sekra, puzzled. Based on his reasoning, Sekra shouldn't have made such a big fuss over a small matter. Yet here he was, surrounded by a large group of experts.
"What's this about?" Tarosa stood up.
"Tarosa," the thousand-man commander said with a faint smile, "this is Young Master Sekra of the Bagshaw family. He has business here."
"The Bagshaw family!"
Tarosa and Dylin were shocked.
Sekra glanced briefly at Linley, surprised. "You're here too." Then he ignored Linley and roared, "Where is Hisse? Tell him to get out here now!" His roar echoed through the courtyard.
"Hisse? He's looking for Hisse?" Linley frowned. Sekra wasn't after him but Hisse. What did he want with him? Could it be related to that woman, Sekhri?
"Young Master Sekra, why are you looking for Hisse?" Tarosa asked.
"Don't ask questions. Just get him out here!" Sekra scanned the multi-story building, then snorted, spreading his divine sense. In an instant, he located Hisse and fixed his gaze on the second floor of a small building ahead.
"Who's looking for me?" A lazy voice rang out as Hisse emerged, flying down from upstairs.
"You're Hisse!" Sekra stared at him intently.
"You're... Sekra!" Hisse's gaze sharpened, anger flashing in his eyes.
Seeing that look, Sekra burst into mad laughter, alarming Linley and the others. The fury Sekra had suppressed for so long raged within him. His eyes turned bloodshot.
Gods lived for eons.
A female god having a few relationships with several men was normal.
Sekra wasn't too bothered by that. As long as his wife stayed with him and didn't see other men, it was fine. But what infuriated him was that the child she carried belonged to this man! With his temper, how could he swallow this insult?
"Sekra, what do you want?" Hisse said coldly.
"What do I want?" Sekra threw his head back and laughed, a blood-red glow spreading over his body. He fixed his gaze on Hisse. "I'm here today to kill you!"
Linley and the others' faces changed drastically.
Sekra swept his gaze over the others and roared, "Today, the Bagshaw family will execute this Hisse. The rest of you, leave now. If you don't, you'll be enemies of the Bagshaw family!"
O'Brien, Linley, and the others' expressions shifted.
Hisse remained calm. He turned to look at Linley, Tarosa, and the others, shaking his head. "Don't get involved. I've felt like I have nothing to live for lately anyway. Don't offend him for my sake."
"How can we do that?" O'Brien stepped forward, staring at Hisse. "Hisse, we came from the Yulan Continent together. Over the years, have we ever abandoned each other? Even if it means death, so what?"
"O'Brien, blindly resisting is suicide," Tarosa said with a low sigh, stepping aside. "I'm not getting involved in this."
Linley was shocked.
"O'Brien, don't resist. It's pointless and just means death," Dylin said, shaking his head as he also moved to the side. His two sons, the Six-Eyed Golden Lions, looked stunned.
"Father," the two lions said, looking at Dylin.
"Come here," Dylin ordered.
The brothers exchanged a glance and reluctantly followed their father to the side.
"You, you..." O'Brien couldn't believe it. When they first came to the Abyss, they had traveled together, sharing life and death. They all believed no one would abandon anyone. How had it come to this?
"Good!" Sekra said coldly, then turned to Linley. "And you, sir?"
"Me?" Linley, Dylia, Bebe, and Olivia exchanged glances.
Through their smiles, they understood each other's thoughts.
Linley smiled and walked two or three steps to stand beside Hisse and O'Brien. He said calmly, "I'm also from the Yulan Continent. None of us will abandon anyone!"
"I'm from the Yulan Continent too!" Dylia, Bebe, and Olivia stepped forward, standing with Linley at the lead.
Linley's expression grew serious as his gaze swept over the group of upper-tier gods.
He understood...
"This time, we'll have to fight for real. No mercy!" Linley's heart hardened. At the critical moment, he wouldn't hesitate to use a drop of Sovereign's divine power to turn the tide and wreak havoc.
