Chapter 12: The Great Battle
"It's Linley!" The distant spectators, including Aichi and several other mid-level gods, were all greatly shocked. They never expected the hidden powerhouse to be Linley!
"It's actually him!" Wilburn stared at the dragonized Linley in the distance.
Ignoring the shock of Aichi and the other seven in the distance, Gammontine was now somewhat enraged by Linley's words. He glanced at Linley and laughed in exasperation: "Oh, Linley, what's this? You don't care even about my commander? Quite the big talk, aren't you?"
Daiman, the second leader of the Blade Island, seeing the situation turn unfavorable, immediately retreated: "With these two fighting, I can't get caught in the middle."
"It's not big talk," Linley said, looking at Gammontine. "Gammontine, I absolutely will not let you take Olivia away. Although I'm reluctant to fight you, if you insist on forcibly taking him, then I'll have no choice but to make a move."
"Hmph!"
Gammontine felt a surge of anger. He had already said so much and been very accommodating.
"Haha..." Gammontine laughed in fury. "In that case, I'll just—" As he spoke, Gammontine very abruptly raised the serpentine green longsword in his hand, pouring wind-type divine power into it. The entire divine sword then began to vibrate, emitting a crisp sound like wind chimes.
The sword's hum echoed within a hundred-meter radius.
Streams of earth-type divine power also spread from beneath Linley's feet, directly merging into the sea surface below. With the blackstone in his mind as the core, the 108 streams of earth-type divine power began to shift and change wildly. The space within a three-hundred-meter radius trembled, and countless earth elements converged.
Caught off guard by this astonishing gravitational pull, Gammontine's body abruptly plummeted downward.
At the same time, a massive amount of earth elements and earth-type divine power gathered, and in the blink of an eye, a huge blackstone prison emerged on the water's surface. Apart from Daiman, who had retreated far away, Gammontine, Linley, and the others were all trapped within this blackstone prison.
The fusion of the three profound mysteries of the Earth Laws, centered on the blackstone, gave birth to Linley's ultimate technique—the Blackstone Prison!
"It's even larger in scope than last time," Daiman gasped. "It seems Linley really was hiding his strength back then." How could he know that during this period, Linley had just broken through the final bottleneck, perfectly fusing the three profound mysteries.
Inside the Blackstone Prison, it was dim and dark, with only the pitch-black walls faintly emitting a yellowish-brown halo. As an upper-level god powerhouse, even in complete darkness, one could still see clearly.
"What terrifying gravity!" Gammontine's face changed drastically. He then gritted his teeth and struggled to circulate his divine power. In terms of flight speed, Gammontine, who cultivated the Wind Elemental Laws, was quite adept. The better one could fly, the stronger the gravitational pull one could resist.
"Hmph!" Gammontine's body finally managed to barely leave the ground, hovering in the air.
"Not bad. In my Blackstone Prison, you can still barely manage to fly." A voice of praise rang out, and a figure suddenly appeared in Gammontine's field of vision—it was Linley in his dragonized form. Linley had already anticipated that Gammontine could barely resist the gravitational pull.
Gammontine, skilled in flight and with strength around that of a six-star or seven-star demon, achieving this didn't surprise Linley.
Gammontine immediately landed again.
"To have cultivated the Earth Laws to this level is truly admirable," Gammontine said with a smile. But as he spoke, his right hand suddenly swung the serpentine green longsword, its target—the ground of the Blackstone Prison beneath his feet!
Linley's expression changed. He stomped his foot and shot toward Gammontine, a black-obsidian greatsword suddenly appearing in his hand.
"Pchi!" A spatial crack appeared, and the ground of the Blackstone Prison was also split open.
Gammontine immediately sank downward, escaping through the large gap beneath his feet.
"I didn't expect him to escape." With a thought from Linley, the massive Blackstone Prison directly dissipated.
"Hua hua..." The waves of the Star-Mist Sea rolled.
Gammontine hovered in the distance, facing off against Linley.
"This Blackstone Prison still needs improvement." After that scene, Linley realized the flaw in the original Blackstone Prison. The prison spanned three hundred meters in radius, with numerous passages and rooms inside. If Gammontine slashed at the wall beside him, even if he broke through one layer, there would still be walls behind it.
But Gammontine directly slashed at the ground beneath his feet.
The Blackstone Prison's height was only that much—just a single layer. By breaking through the ground beneath his feet, Gammontine could escape.
"In the future, this Blackstone Prison must not only be larger in scope but also nine layers high. Trap him on the fifth layer, and even if he breaks through the ground beneath him, he'll only enter the fourth layer!" Linley thought to himself.
Bates, Daiman, and the group watching from a distance all held their breath, staring at the scene before them. No one knew whether Gammontine was stronger or if Linley would prove to be the more powerful one.
"Quite troublesome!" Gammontine narrowed his eyes slightly.
Then, with a "whoosh," over a thousand Gammontines suddenly appeared within a kilometer radius. Each Gammontine had a smile on his face: "Haha, Linley, with so many clones of mine, can you still find my true body?" As he spoke, the thousand-plus Gammontines came rushing over with a roar.
Linley, however, remained motionless.
Earth-type divine power spread outward, covering a three-hundred-meter radius, naturally encompassing Delia, Bebe, Olivia, and the others who were not far from him. The gravitational force was no different from that of the Blackstone Prison, just without the prison's obstruction.
Gravity Space!
When part of the thousand-plus Gammontines flew into the Gravity Space, they couldn't resist the powerful gravitational pull and immediately plummeted.
"Gammontine, just give up. There's no way you can take Olivia away!" Linley said loudly. "In my Gravity Space, your clones can't resist the gravitational pull at all; only your true body can barely manage." And indeed—
The clones all fell into the sea, leaving only Gammontine's true body barely hovering.
"Linley, in all my experience with Gravity Spaces, I've never seen one with gravitational force as strong as yours," Gammontine said, then actually flew backward, retreating out of Linley's Gravity Space range. Linley didn't stop him, just watching.
Linley was hoping that Gammontine would leave.
"Whoosh!" Gammontine shot straight up into the sky, flying into the thin mist above the sea, where lightning immediately struck at him.
"Hmm?" Linley frowned. "What's he doing flying into the mist?" The lightning in the Star-Mist Sea's mist grew more powerful the higher one flew. Gammontine flew to a height he could barely withstand.
That bit of lightning would only cause him some minor damage at most.
"Swoosh!" Gammontine flew in a straight line.
The farther one was from the gravitational zone, the weaker the pull. Flying so high, the Gravity Space laid out on the sea surface had a much reduced effect on him at that altitude. Gammontine flew to a position directly above Linley's head.
Then—he plummeted straight down!
With gravity pulling downward, Gammontine's descent speed was incredibly fast.
"Playing that trick?" Linley smiled calmly.
Abruptly, the constantly shifting divine power around him retracted to his body's surface, flowing over it. At the same time, a massive spherical space about a hundred meters in diameter formed around Linley, creating a special repulsive spherical zone.
Gammontine, who had been full of confidence, suddenly found himself trapped in the repulsive spherical zone.
"Huh?" Gammontine felt a powerful repulsive force acting on his entire body. His previously rapid descent instantly slowed to zero. Feeling this repulsive force, Gammontine's expression changed in shock. "Gravity Space... how can it be like this?"
Gammontine had never heard of a Gravity Space having a repulsive force!
Despite his shock, Gammontine still struggled against the repulsive force, trying to continue descending. At the same time, he swung the serpentine green longsword in his hand. A hazy green phantom appeared on the blade, accompanied by the sound of wind chimes. The sword shadow seemed slow but was fast, cutting through the air. Where the sword shadow passed, space itself cracked open. A blurry green sword light flashed across the sky, reaching Linley's eyes in an instant.
The Blood-Drop Sword!
Gammontine's face twisted as he unleashed his strongest strike.
While the repulsive force affected his body, it had little impact on the sword's energy attack.
"So fast." Linley hurriedly tried to dodge.
His body's movement speed was indeed slower than the sword light's speed. "Clang!" The sword light struck Linley's left arm, which was covered in dragon scales. With a crisp sound, the dragon scales on Linley's left arm shattered, two or three pieces breaking off, with traces of blood seeping out.
"What?" Gammontine was dumbfounded.
His strongest physical attack had only managed to draw a trace of blood from Linley.
Linley looked at his arm, his gaze turning cold. He immediately gripped the black-obsidian greatsword and charged toward Gammontine like lightning.
Startled by what he had just witnessed, Gammontine immediately tried to flee. Under the repulsive force, his escape speed was still quite fast!
"Gravity!" With a thought from Linley, the repulsive force within the hundred-meter-diameter spherical space suddenly turned into gravitational pull. Moreover, the range expanded from a hundred meters in diameter to two hundred meters. Gammontine was now trapped within this hazy spherical space.
The powerful gravitational pull drew Gammontine closer to Linley.
"This Linley, what level of powerhouse is he? My strongest strike only managed to shatter a bit of his dragon scales!" Gammontine struggled desperately to break free from the gravitational pull and escape. But the pull was too strong... even if he could barely resist, his flight speed was painfully slow.
Most importantly...
Linley's speed was unaffected, and he caught up in no time!
"Die!" Linley's black-obsidian greatsword swung as if it were weightless, and a virtual, faint yellow sword shadow flew out from the greatsword, heading straight into Gammontine's body.
The Earth Laws' Void Sword Wave!
Gammontine was horrified, but under the astonishing gravitational pull, his speed was too slow: "How can this gravitational pull be so abnormal? Even a Sovereign probably couldn't do this. Could he be a hidden Sovereign-level powerhouse?" Everyone had their specialties; some were skilled in Gravity Spaces.
But a gravitational pull strong enough that a six-star demon like Gammontine could barely resist it was just too exaggerated.
"Ha!" Gammontine swung his sword in return, and a blurry green sword shadow shot out.
The green sword shadow and the yellow sword shadow collided!
After a brief stalemate, the yellow sword shadow dissipated. The remaining green sword shadow continued toward Linley. Linley was too close to Gammontine to dodge, and the green sword shadow directly entered his body.
"Hmm?" Linley's body stiffened slightly.
"Haha... his soul attack is weaker than mine!" Gammontine was overjoyed.
Linley's Gravity Space and terrifying defense had previously scared Gammontine into losing his fighting spirit. But now, his attempt to resist Linley's soul attack had easily broken through it.
"Haha, die!" Gammontine swung his sword twice more toward Linley. Generally, if one's soul attack was strong, their soul defense was also strong. Seeing Linley's soul attack so weak, his defense couldn't be much better. Although Gammontine's soul attack wasn't as strong as his physical attack,
it was still far superior to Linley's!
Two green sword shadows shot toward Linley, who couldn't dodge in time.
Linley didn't even try to dodge. "Haha!" Linley laughed loudly and charged toward Gammontine at top speed, ignoring the two green sword shadows entering his body. He reached Gammontine in an instant and, with a "bang," kicked him hard in the chest.
"Pchi!" Gammontine was sent flying, blood spraying from his mouth.
But as he flew up, the powerful gravitational pull of the spherical space drew him back toward Linley. Gammontine's face changed drastically: "This Linley, he took two of my soul attacks and felt nothing?" Gammontine wasn't particularly skilled in soul attacks.
And he was being pulled closer again.
"One more time." Linley suddenly closed in on Gammontine.
"Ah!" Gammontine roared, and suddenly over a thousand Gammontines appeared around him.
"Explode!" Gammontine bellowed.
"Boom!" The thousand Gammontines all exploded at once.
