Chapter 36: Storm Cave

This violet crystal monster, casually slaughtering those mid-level and low-level gods, was enough to make Olivia recognize its ferocity. When Bebe had been swept into the mist sea, he had been struck in the abdomen by a pile of violet crystals, and Olivia had already guessed that Bebe’s physical defense was formidable.

Bebe was a divine beast, and related to Beirut, so Olivia could understand why he was so powerful.

But what about Linley?

“Linley is also this… His body actually clashes head-on with that violet crystal monster.” Olivia stared at the scene before him, completely stunned. He had originally thought that his own hard training over a few decades to reach the mid-level god realm was impressive, perhaps even surpassing Linley.

But the truth…

The gap between him and Linley had only widened!

“This monster is immune to soul attacks!” Linley’s roar rang out as he was flung into the distance. He flipped over and climbed to his feet, saying in disbelief, “I used my full-strength Void Sword Wave, and this monster didn’t react at all.”

“Boss, just use material attacks!” Bebe shouted as well.

“Alright.” Linley put away the Black Heavy Sword and leaped forward again, swooping down like a giant eagle to attack the violet crystal monster. In his hand, the Violet Blood Soft Sword executed the ‘Phantom’ technique, slashing mercilessly toward the monster’s head.

The violet crystal monster dodged in fear.

“Pfft!” The Violet Blood Soft Sword sliced into the monster’s shoulder, cutting in a full half meter deep.

But when Linley pulled the sword back and retreated, the wound instantly healed.

“Boss, this monster is immune to soul attacks, and even with material attacks, no matter how severe the injury, it can repair itself.” Bebe was also helpless. Hearing this, Linley glanced at the broken horn he had previously cut off, but the horn on the violet crystal monster’s head had already fully regrown.

Linley couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

“Even the strongest high-level god, hit by my Void Sword Wave, would at least show some reaction, even if they weren’t afraid. But this violet crystal monster has no reaction at all. Its body is as hard as a high-level divine artifact, and it can repair itself rapidly!”

Linley had nothing more to say. This kind of monster was practically invincible!

“No wonder even those two high-level gods fled.” Linley thought to himself as he engaged the violet crystal monster in another fierce clash.

Linley’s sword cut off one of the monster’s sharp horns, while the monster’s claw sent Linley flying. He twisted in midair, landing upright on the ground.

The violet crystal monster roared in pain; clearly, losing its horn hurt.

“Roar!” The other violet crystal monster, which had been fighting Bebe, also stopped and raised its head to roar.

The one fighting Linley stopped as well. It stared at Linley for a long time, seemingly noticing that he had no injuries at all. Finally, it gave up, letting out a low, angry roar.

The two violet crystal monsters exchanged glances. The one that had fought Linley looked at him and said in a low, hoarse voice, “Body, not bad!”

The one that had fought Bebe also glanced at him.

“Swoosh!” “Swoosh!”

The two violet crystal monsters transformed into streaks of violet light and swiftly fled.

“Linley, are you alright?” Delia walked over. Linley smiled and said, “Of course I’m fine. But I have to say, those two violet crystal monsters are truly terrifying, practically flawless. Of course… they can’t use soul attacks.”

“Linley, what’s with those two violet crystal monsters? Why did they leave?” Delia asked, puzzled.

Olivia spoke up from the side, “Maybe those two violet crystal monsters realized that fighting you two was pointless. They weren’t gaining anything and were just getting hurt, so they gave up.” Olivia said.

Wasn’t that the case?

Linley and Bebe had no real injuries. Even minor scratches could be healed with divine power. In such a fight, the two violet crystal monsters naturally didn’t want to continue.

“Boss, the fragments I cut off from it seem to be violet crystals.” Bebe picked up some purple crystal shards from the ground. When he had fought the violet crystal monster, he had used the black dagger, a divine-god dagger, to cut off some pieces.

Linley’s ears perked up, and he looked at the two purple broken horns on the ground.

He directly stored them in the Dragonblood Ring. Sure enough—the two purple broken horns were instantly refined, releasing a large amount of soul essence, leaving only a pile of powder.

“Indeed, this violet crystal monster is entirely made of violet crystals.” Linley was shocked inside. Violet crystals contained soul essence. A monster made entirely of violet crystals—how much soul essence did it hold?

“Boss, did you check? Is it violet crystal?” Bebe asked, holding the purple shards but not entirely sure.

“It’s all violet crystal.” Linley nodded.

Bebe, Delia, and Olivia, though somewhat prepared, were still greatly surprised.

Delia frowned and said, “Where did this monster come from? Immune to soul attacks, its body so hard, and it can automatically heal any injury.” She had to admit, such a monster was practically invincible. Or rather, it was very hard for others to kill it.

“But I noticed that this monster’s intelligence seems very low.” Bebe said.

“Very low. In battle, it only uses basic attacks like claws and mouth. No profound mysteries of the laws at all.” Linley had also noticed this. “But at least they can talk!”

The others nodded slightly. They still remembered the last words the violet crystal monster had said: “Body, not bad.”

“Let’s go. Let’s see if there’s a way to leave this Violet Crystal Mountain Range.” Linley suggested.

So the group set off together, moving forward. The surroundings were filled with white mist, and Linley and the others didn’t know where danger lay. But by walking on the ground, they could at least judge the general direction and proceeded in a straight line.

As Linley and his group advanced, Jenkin and three mid-level gods were cautiously moving through the Violet Crystal Mountain Range. He was lucky to have safely reached the range and, so far, hadn’t encountered any violet crystal monsters.

“I wonder how Lord Linley and the other two are doing.” Jenkin thought silently.

“Whoosh, whoosh…” Ahead, the sound of fierce wind came.

“Let’s go check it out.” One of the mid-level gods immediately called out. Jenkin and the other three mid-level gods quickly moved toward the source of the sound. Soon, they saw what was causing the fierce wind.

“This is…”

The four of them were stunned.

About a hundred meters away, there was a large pit tens of meters in diameter. In the center of the pit was a cave about ten meters in diameter. A fierce wind was howling from the cave, and countless violet lights were shooting out from it.

The speed of the violet lights was astonishing.

“So this is where the violet crystals come from.” Jenkin exclaimed, though he didn’t know that there were many such places in the Violet Crystal Mountain Range.

Countless violet crystals flew out in all directions. Because they went in different directions, once they flew out of the mist sea, they scattered everywhere. Some flew diagonally, nearly parallel to the pit, which was concave.

A large number of violet crystals crashed into the pit walls. Many were embedded in the walls, but even more simply lay in the pit.

The cave was in the center of the pit, while the rest of the area was covered in countless violet crystals.

“How many violet crystals are there?”

The four mid-level gods were dumbfounded. Violet crystal particles were generally small; a pile of a few dozen centimeters could contain tens of thousands. Now, the entire pit was covered. The number had to be in the billions. A single violet crystal was so valuable—how much was all this worth?

The four mid-level gods calculated and were stunned.

“We’re rich!” One of them exclaimed.

“Haha, we’re rich!” Jenkin also got excited.

One of the four mid-level gods immediately ran toward the pit. The other three quickly followed. None of them thought about killing the others, because there were so many violet crystals that their greed was already satisfied.

But as they neared the pit, they stopped.

Because—

A large number of violet crystals were flying diagonally, hitting the pit walls and colliding with those already embedded, then falling into the pit. The speed of the violet crystals shooting out was terrifying. If the four of them jumped down, they would likely be riddled with holes by the crystals.

“What do we do?” The four mid-level gods hesitated.

When they had first fallen, they had witnessed the power of the violet crystal jets. Even then, the crystals had already traveled some distance and lost some force. These crystals shooting from the cave were at their peak speed.

Jumping into the pit would mean certain death!

“Use a divine artifact.” One of the mid-level gods said. He took out a whip, swung it, and the whip lengthened like a snake, falling into the pit.

“Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!”

A large number of violet crystals struck the whip. The divine artifact whip was directly shattered.

The mid-level god’s face turned pale. His divine artifact was destroyed!

Keep in mind that even Linley’s Pulse Guard armor had been pierced by violet crystals, and those were already halfway through their flight. At the cave mouth, even high-level divine artifacts could be pierced. How could a mid-level god’s artifact withstand that?

Jenkin and the other three were stunned again.

“Damn it, so many violet crystals right in front of us, and we can’t take them.” One of them cursed.

In truth, there were some violet crystals scattered around the Violet Crystal Mountain Range, but they were few. The four of them had been picking them up and had only gathered about a hundred so far. But in this pit, there was a thick layer.

Grabbing a handful would be astonishing.

“Forget it. Life is more important.” Jenkin shook his head helplessly.

The other three also sighed in resignation.

Just as they were about to give up, suddenly—

The cave, which had been continuously spewing violet crystals, stopped. The wind died down. In the entire pit, no more crystals were flying, leaving only the thick layer covering the ground.

“This…” Jenkin and the others were stunned.

“Ah, let’s go down!” The four mid-level gods excitedly jumped into the pit.

“With these violet crystals, I…” Jenkin’s mind raced with fantasies as he frantically stored the crystals into his spatial ring.

“Hey, Jenkin?” A voice sounded.

Jenkin looked back and saw Linley and his group of four.

Linley and the others had been drawn by the wind sound, but when they got close, the wind had stopped. As Linley approached, he saw the pit full of violet crystals and Jenkin and the others frantically collecting them.

“So many violet crystals?” Linley was also shocked.

Bebe, Delia, and Olivia were stunned too.

“Damn, two hundred billion in wealth—what’s that compared to these crystals?” Bebe’s eyes gleamed.

But just as Bebe was about to jump into the pit—

“Sizzle…”

The cave, which had stopped spewing, suddenly generated a terrifying suction force. This force caused the space to tremble, creating a spatial ripple vortex. The vortex in the cave instantly sucked in all the violet crystals in the pit, including Jenkin and the other three mid-level gods.

“Lord Linley—” As Jenkin was pulled into the cave, he stared at Linley, a look of despair and helplessness flashing in his eyes. But he had no power to resist.

Strangely, the suction force was like a vortex, only affecting the pit. Outside the pit, there was almost no effect.

“Sizzle…” The cave continued to suck in…

Only the violet crystals deeply embedded in the pit walls remained. The layer that had covered the pit was completely gone.

Linley watched this scene, unable to speak for a long time.

PS: Three chapters done. Looking at the comments section, many people are guessing about a treasure, but no one has guessed it yet. A hint: consider the terrifying gravitational force…

Second Leave This Month

I’m not satisfied with the Violet Crystal Mountain Range segment I wrote. Maybe it’s related to my recent mood.

I’ll take a day off to adjust myself. Consider this my second leave this month.
