Chapter 5: Bebe’s Revenge
Within a small town called Mole, located outside the imperial capital of the Lan Empire.
Although Mole Town was merely a town, its status was not much lower than that of an ordinary prefectural city. This was because all of Mole Town’s over a thousand residents belonged to the same family. Several hundred years ago, this family had been quite ordinary, but after producing the Earth-System Saint Magus ‘Rudy’, the entire family’s status immediately skyrocketed.
However…
At this moment, the central building of this town had collapsed. The massive corpse of a ninth-rank magical beast, a black dragon, lay coiled in the ruins. The head of this ninth-rank black dragon was completely pierced through. The townspeople were now staring in terror at the scene unfolding in midair.
Their revered Saint Magus ‘Rudy’ was being ruthlessly tormented by a black rat-type magical beast, utterly powerless to resist.
Rudy’s clothes were tattered. His original ‘Earth Guardian Sacred Armor’ had long been shattered by Bebe’s lightning-fast eighteen consecutive claws. Bebe’s pure physical attacks were even stronger than Linley’s, and over the past twelve years, he had also gained some insights into the laws.
Those eighteen consecutive claws just now were a move Bebe excelled at.
Even a Saint-level Earth Guardian Sacred Armor had to be broken.
“If you want to kill me, then kill me! Why are you doing this? Did Linley send you?” Rudy roared in grief and anger. He had heard that Linley possessed a Saint-level rat-type magical beast with black fur. He couldn’t fathom what grievance he had with Linley!
But his answer was another claw. “Ah!” Rudy’s entire body convulsed in pain as another large chunk of flesh was gouged from him. Even his face bore the marks of Bebe’s claws.
Bebe’s attacks were very measured; he wasn’t killing Rudy at all.
“You ask me why?” Bebe’s pitch-black eyes blazed with furious flames. “Do you still remember, over thirty years ago, when you and Tilon fought over a ninth-rank Shadow Rat?”
Rudy immediately recalled that incident. He had always felt dissatisfied that Tilon had ended up killing that ninth-rank Shadow Rat. Rudy suddenly understood… The Saint-level magical beast before him must be avenging that Shadow Rat from back then.
“It wasn’t me who killed that Shadow Rat; it was Tilon,” Rudy said hastily, feeling a glimmer of hope for survival.
Before Bebe, Rudy had no power to resist. Whenever Bebe sensed Rudy silently chanting a magic spell and the elemental energy fluctuating slightly, Bebe would directly claw him in the mouth. Moreover, given Bebe’s strength, even if Rudy unleashed a Saint-level magic spell, it probably wouldn’t threaten Bebe.
“It’s true you didn’t kill her with your own hands, but if it weren’t for you, my mother would have escaped long ago.”
“Ah!” Rudy let out a miserable scream. His right arm was severed by the sharp claws and fell from the high altitude.
“If not for you, would Tilon have directly killed my mother?”
Another claw, another scream, and Rudy’s left arm also fell from the sky. The esteemed Saint Magus ‘Rudy’ had been tormented to this extent, completely out of tricks. Before Bebe, he had no ability to resist at all.
“High Priest, why haven’t you come yet?” Rudy thought anxiously. In the hearts of Saint-level experts in the Yulan Empire, the High Priest was their leader—just as the Saint-level experts of the Radiant Church dared not act recklessly in the O’Brien Empire.
Other Saint-level experts also dared not act recklessly in the Yulan Empire, let alone in a small town near the imperial capital.
“You, prepare to die,” Bebe said indifferently.
“The High Priest will definitely avenge me!!!” Rudy shouted fiercely. Then he was met with a claw that pierced straight through his skull, shattering it. Rudy’s eyes immediately dimmed. His armless corpse fell from midair and landed with a “plop” in the ruins, covered in dust.
In midair, Bebe scanned the area below.
None of the residents below dared to make a sound. At this moment, Bebe had none of his usual cuteness or playfulness; only the cruelty inherent in a magical beast’s nature remained.
“Swoosh!” A black shadow streaked across the sky, and Bebe vanished from above.
Rudy’s corpse in the ruins had its eyes wide open; he died with regret. Even in death, he thought the High Priest would avenge him… Unfortunately, the High Priest would not step in for him. Unless the High Priest felt his own life was too long.
*******
There wasn’t much difference. The Saint-level expert ‘Tilon’ was like a baby before Bebe, completely at his mercy. Tilon couldn’t even withstand three moves against the newly ascended Saint-level Olivia. Against Bebe as he was now, he couldn’t even block a single move.
High in the sky.
Four ‘Bebes’ appeared in four directions, turning into four black afterimages. They kicked Tilon’s body around wildly, as if playing a game of kickball with a stone.
“Bang!” Tilon felt a heavy kick to his waist, accompanied by a “crack” as if his bones were breaking. His body was sent flying in another direction. Tilon immediately mustered his internal battle qi, trying to fly away.
But another black shadow appeared before him and struck again!
“Ah.” A chunk of flesh was torn off by the claws. Tilon’s body convulsed in pain, but he gritted his teeth and charged in another direction.
Yet he was met by another black shadow!
…
No matter how frantically Tilon tried to escape, before Bebe’s terrifying speed and the Shadow Clone Technique, Tilon had no chance of getting away.
Shadow Clone Technique! Four ‘clones’ tormented him from four directions.
“Why? I haven’t offended Linley!” Tilon shouted in grief and anger. Seeing the black-furred Saint-level rat-type magical beast, he knew it was Linley’s famous beast. Back then, Bebe had already been able to defeat Hudderson.
Twelve years later, how could Tilon possibly stand against Bebe?
“My boss?” Bebe’s eyes blazed with furious flames. “Who told you to go to the Magical Beast Mountain Range and kill my father!”
“Kill his father?” Tilon was filled with confusion. “Have I killed any powerful rat-type magical beasts?”
Then another claw struck, and Tilon was kicked away again. He felt his head spinning. With Bebe’s speed, he was kicked dozens of times per second, and by now, he had been kicked over a thousand times.
Fortunately, he had reached the Saint level, so he could still hold on to his life.
“Who told you to kill my mother in front of Rudy!” With a “pfft,” another claw landed.
…
“In front of Rudy? Ah, over thirty years ago in the Magical Beast Mountain Range…”
Tilon understood completely. He recalled the events in the Magical Beast Mountain Range from back then. So this mysterious rat-type magical beast was the child of those two ninth-rank rat-type magical beasts.
“Pfft!” Another claw struck his face.
By now, Rudy’s clothes were just scattered strips of fabric stained with blood, clinging to his body. There was hardly a patch of intact flesh left on him. After thousands of consecutive kicks, each one tearing off a bit of flesh, Rudy now…
His broken bones were clearly visible, and the bright red muscles were horrifying to behold.
Even one of his eyes had been gouged out.
“Kill me!” “Kill me!” “Kill me!” Tilon was no longer human in form. He murmured these words, completely powerless to resist. But Bebe’s eyes showed no mercy. Then, the four ‘Bebes’ merged into one!
He appeared above Tilon.
“Smack!” A claw slammed down hard on Tilon’s skull. The skull shattered, and Tilon’s disfigured corpse was smashed to the ground, with broken bones scattering out.
After delivering this claw, Bebe stood frozen in midair.
Bebe was always carefree. He had grown up playing with Linley, loving to eat and drink… But deep down, Bebe had always been concerned about his origins: Where did I come from? Who are my father and mother?
The higher the rank of a magical beast, the greater its intelligence.
For a Soul Devouring Rat like Bebe, his emotions were even stronger than a human’s.
Thirty-three years.
And in the end, both his parents were dead!
“Father, Mother, Bebe really wanted to see you. Bebe doesn’t know what it feels like to have a father, or what it feels like to have a mother.” Bebe’s clear eyes welled up with tears. “Today, Bebe has avenged you.”
Two teardrops slid down Bebe’s small face.
“The name Bebe was given by the boss. Even though I don’t have you, I still have the boss. Being in the boss’s arms is just as comfortable. Maybe being in your arms would feel the same as being by the boss’s side.” Bebe was silent in midair for a long time.
In the thirty-plus years with Linley, Bebe had undoubtedly come to see Linley as his only family.
As for Beirut, though he called him ‘Grandpa Beirut,’ they had only known each other for a short time.
“Whoosh.” A gust of wind passed, and Bebe’s figure had already vanished toward the eastern horizon.
*******
At the magic crystal mine, in the underground secret chambers before the planar gate.
“Sizzle—” Bebe easily passed through this gate. The planar gate’s attacks struck Bebe like knives, but they couldn’t even cut a single strand of his fur.
Linley, who was sitting cross-legged, opened his eyes. Before he could say anything, Bebe rushed into his arms: “Boss.” Bebe’s eyes were red.
Linley hugged Bebe: “Bebe, it’s okay. Don’t be sad.”
“Mm.” Bebe nodded.
Both Linley and Bebe had lost their parents. Having grown up together, they were the closest of brothers, bound by life and death. Linley was like an older brother, and Bebe like a younger brother.
…
On the 1002432nd day of the Yulan Calendar, west of the imperial capital of the O’Brien Empire, on Martial God Mountain.
Another beam of light shot down from the sky into Martial God Mountain. Outside a quiet courtyard on Martial God Mountain, a group of people had gathered. This courtyard was where the Martial God usually stayed when not in seclusion. On the open ground outside the quiet courtyard, over a dozen people had assembled, chatting with each other.
Every one of these individuals was extremely powerful. None were weaker than Hudderson from back then.
“Bautich is here,” someone said.
A silver-haired, gaunt man descended from the air. Bautich—this name had once resounded across the Yulan Continent, but that was over three thousand years ago. Now, Bautich usually cultivated in seclusion in the Arctic Icefield.
“Bautich, you’ve come too,” said a cold-looking man with graying hair among the dozen or so people on the open ground.
“Olivia, if you can come, why can’t I?” Bautich’s voice was equally cold, and his gaze fixed on Olivia. Olivia now carried only one sword on his back—a transparent, icy sword that exuded a chilling aura.
During his arduous training in the Arctic Icefield, Olivia had once sparred with Bautich. The first time, Olivia lost, but eight years later when they fought again, they were evenly matched. Soon, one powerful expert after another arrived.
“Ken Fender, you’re too late this time,” someone said with a smile as another expert arrived, greeting him.
Most of these experts, who had been in seclusion for thousands of years, knew each other. They all belonged to the Martial God’s faction. By evening, twenty people had gathered here. According to the plan, there would be a total of twenty-two.
Ten were from the Martial God Sect, and twelve were independent experts.
“The senior apprentice brother is here,” someone suddenly said. A man with short, bluish-green hair and a lean build, yet exuding a sharp aura like a spear, walked over. His green robe rustled in the wind. He was the senior apprentice brother of the Martial God Sect—Farn!
One of the five Saint-level limit experts, Farn was among them!
As soon as Farn arrived, the group immediately welcomed him, greeting him familiarly. Only Olivia had never met Farn before.
“Hmm? What about Linley?” Farn spoke up. “Hasn’t he come yet?”
Now, twenty-one people had arrived, leaving only Linley!

Apology Statement!
I just deleted the chapter I wrote.
I was very dissatisfied with what I wrote.
Recently, many things have happened in real life that have left me feeling depressed. My writing state has also fallen into a slump. I don’t want to write something hastily just to appease everyone.
I owe you all a chapter, and I’ll remember that.
I’m sorry. Give me some time.
