Chapter 4: Divine-Level Magical Beast

“God-Eating Rat?” Linley and Delia exchanged a glance.

The number one expert of the Yulan continent, Beirut, had a true form that was actually a ‘God-Eating Rat’. Just hearing the name, Linley knew that this species was definitely extremely terrifying. ‘God-Eating’—how would an ordinary magical beast dare to call itself such a name? Linley looked at Bebe with a puzzled gaze.

Delia also asked in confusion, “Bebe, weren’t your father and mother both rank nine magical beasts? What, what’s going on here?”

“Boss, this is a bit like your Dragonblood Warrior family, but of course there are differences,” Bebe explained carefully. “After Grandpa Beirut was born, because he was the only God-Eating Rat, he was with Grandma Karelona and had three children—Harry, Hart, and Harvey—the three Violet-Gold Rat Kings.”

Linley silently noted the name ‘Karelona’ in his heart.

“Because Grandma Karelona wasn’t a God-Eating Rat, her children with Grandpa Beirut naturally wouldn’t have pure God-Eating Rat bloodline. Their rank dropped; under normal circumstances, Violet-Gold Rat Kings, upon reaching adulthood, become Saint-level magical beasts,” Bebe said in detail.

“Rank dropped?” Linley pressed, “Bebe, what do you mean?”

Delia, equally sharp, also caught Bebe’s implication.

A hint of pride shone in Bebe’s eyes. “Right, the God-Eating Rat is a divine-level magical beast! Even without training, just by natural growth… when they reach adulthood, they naturally reach the divine level!”

“Divine-level magical beast?” Linley was stunned.

Too freakish!

Even more terrifying than the four ultimate warriors. Those four ultimate warriors only needed to keep training to reach the Saint-level peak. Saint-level magical beasts only needed to reach adulthood to reach the Saint stage. And this divine-level magical beast only needed to reach adulthood to reach the divine stage!

“It’s so unfair to other races. How can they compete with it?” Linley sighed deeply in his heart. Truly worthy of being called ‘God-Eating Rat’—just reaching adulthood made one a divine-level expert. It was indeed a favorite of the heavens.

Bebe shook his head and said, “Grandpa Beirut said that divine-level magical beasts can’t form clans. Generally, divine-level magical beasts are solitary! Because they are solitary, he couldn’t find another female God-Eating Rat to be his wife.”

“His children, with impure bloodlines, could only become Saint-level magical beasts, the Violet-Gold Rat Kings.”

“And the three Violet-Gold Rat Kings were all male. Their children also had impure bloodlines, so they were downgraded to rank nine magical beasts. However, in the Dark Forest, there were quite a few female rank nine rat-type magical beasts. When rank nine magical beasts paired, most of their children could also reach rank nine. And my mother was considered a member of the Beirut family, just dozens of generations later than Harry, Hart, and Harvey,” Bebe said, not seeming to regard the three as his ancestors.

Indeed, in practical terms, Harry and the other two were many generations older than Bebe.

But Bebe was a God-Eating Rat. Besides Beirut, he was the only one.

“Oh.” Linley nodded.

“As for me being a God-Eating Rat,” Bebe said innocently, “According to Grandpa Beirut, first, my mother carried a trace of the Beirut family bloodline. She paired with a rank nine Stone-Eating Rat, and the bloodline might have mutated.”

“After all, there are countless pairings among rank nine rat-type magical beasts, but besides me, none seem to have become a God-Eating Rat,” Bebe said innocently. “And this isn’t just in the Yulan continent plane. It’s across the countless planes Grandpa Beirut has visited.”

“Countless planes?” Linley and Delia exchanged a glance.

This Lord Beirut was truly terrifying.

Based on discussions with Hodan, Linley knew that once someone went to a higher plane, it was very difficult to return. But from Bebe’s words, that Beirut had not only left the Yulan continent plane but had also visited many other planes.

“No wonder he dares to call himself the king of the Yulan continent plane, with even the War God and the High Priest having to obey his commands,” Linley thought. “What level of expert is he? A demigod? Or perhaps… a god?”

From demigod to god, the High Priest had spent over ten thousand years without success, showing how difficult it was. From god to high god was even harder.

“Becoming a divine-level magical beast is much more demanding than becoming an ultimate warrior,” Linley exclaimed. “Although the bloodline of ultimate warriors becomes diluted as it’s passed down, occasionally an ultimate warrior is still born. But this God-Eating Rat… across all the countless planes your Grandpa Beirut has visited, there are only you and Lord Beirut as God-Eating Rats.”

Linley and Delia both sighed in amazement.

Divine-level magical beasts were far more demanding than Saint-level ones.

No wonder. If divine-level magical beasts were so easily born, there would be no room for other races to survive.

“Divine-level magical beasts are usually solitary, like the king of the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts, that Dylin. He’s also a divine-level magical beast,” Bebe said.

“Dylin?” Linley and Delia became curious.

Linley still didn’t know that Dylin was the one he had released.

Bebe nodded. “Dylin is also a divine-level magical beast. His name is ‘Nisuan’, also known as ‘Heaven-Swallowing Beast’.”

Linley and Delia felt a shiver in their hearts. This Dylin was truly terrifying, daring to call himself ‘Heaven-Swallowing Beast’. One was a God-Eating Rat, the other a Heaven-Swallowing Beast—these names were astonishing.

“Grandpa Beirut said that Dylin is very powerful. Swallowing an entire mountain or a city in one gulp is easy for him,” Bebe said with a sigh. “But like us God-Eating Rats, he couldn’t find another Nisuan. He had children too. He originally had five children, and like the Violet-Gold Rat Kings, they were all Saint-level peak magical beasts.”

Linley and Delia understood.

The children of divine-level magical beasts had impure bloodlines, so their power was reduced. But even reduced, they were still top among Saint-level magical beasts.

“Those five children were called ‘Six-Eyed Golden Lions’. Their true form is close to a lion, but they’re as large as a dragon. They have six eyes and a pair of huge wings,” Bebe said with a sigh. “The Six-Eyed Golden Lions are very strong. Although they’re not as terrifying as the divine-level magical beast ‘Nisuan’, their stomach space is also formidable. About the size of a dragon, they can easily swallow over a hundred dragons.”

Linley and Delia were secretly shocked.

The descendants of divine-level magical beasts, though not as powerful as their elders, were still not to be underestimated.

Back then, when Linley pulled out the Violet Blood Soft Sword and released Dylin and his three children, Linley didn’t know… those three children were ‘Six-Eyed Golden Lions’. After coming out, they directly devoured over a hundred dragons in the Misty Valley cleanly.

Clearly, they had inherited their father’s traits.

“Six-Eyed Golden Lions are Saint-level magical beasts, but their children are only rank nine magical beasts. There’s a race among magical beasts that you should know, Boss. The rank nine magical beast ‘Lion’,” Bebe said.

Linley immediately nodded.

The Lion, a rank nine magical beast, had extremely formidable attack power. Its appearance was very similar to a lion, but its size was as large as a dragon.

“The rank nine magical beast ‘Lion’ race is extremely rare. They mate with tiger-type magical beasts or lion-type magical beasts. That’s how the two rank eight magical beast races, the Golden-Eyed Lion Hound and the Green-Eyed Tiger Hound, came about,” Bebe said, clearly very familiar with the changes in magical beast races.

Linley suddenly understood.

Back then, in the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts, when Linley first activated the killing aura of the ‘Violet Blood Soft Sword’, he had slaughtered a clan of Golden-Eyed Lion Hounds.

“I never thought the magical beast races were so interesting,” Delia said, intrigued. “If you trace the ancestry of the Golden-Eyed Lion Hound and the Green-Eyed Tiger Hound, you can even trace it back to the divine-level magical beast ‘Nisuan’.”

“Do you mean that this Dylin has been on our Yulan continent plane for a very long time?” Linley suddenly realized.

In the past, there were no divine-level experts in the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts.

That meant Dylin hadn’t been there for at least a thousand years. If Dylin had never come to the Yulan continent plane, how could he claim that those Lions, Green-Eyed Tiger Hounds, and Golden-Eyed Lion Hounds were his descendants?

“Yes, according to Grandpa Beirut, Dylin has been on our Yulan continent plane for over ten thousand years,” Bebe explained. “Those Golden-Eyed Lion Hounds, Green-Eyed Tiger Hounds, Lions, and so on are all considered his descendants,” Bebe said with a laugh.

It was actually the same.

The vast number of descendants of the God-Eating Rat had also become two races: the Stone-Eating Rat and the Shadow Rat.

“But Grandpa Beirut said that Dylin originally had five children. Two died in some Gobada plane prison, so now only three are left,” Bebe said.

Linley nodded slightly.

He wasn’t very clear about the history of the Yulan continent from over five thousand years ago. Or from over ten thousand years ago. After all, there were very few records in books about that time. Few people knew what the Yulan continent was like ten thousand years ago.

History books were mostly recorded according to the Yulan calendar, starting from the first year of the Yulan calendar.

“Bebe, in the future, you can easily become a god, right?” Linley looked at Bebe with a smile. A rare hint of pride appeared in Bebe’s eyes, but then it dimmed. “No matter how powerful I am, my parents are already dead.”

Bebe looked at Linley and said solemnly, “Boss, you keep training. I’m going out for a bit.” With that, he flew straight out.

“Bebe, what are you going to do?” Linley immediately asked.

“Kill those two bastards.” Bebe’s voice still echoed in the underground secret chamber’s common room, but his figure had already disappeared.

Linley sighed.

Bebe going to kill Tilon and Rudy—Linley wouldn’t say anything. After all, if someone had killed his own parents, he would also seek revenge.

“Everything is clear now.” Linley sighed inwardly. Back then, the War God had treated him so well, even helping with his brother’s wedding. And when the Baruch Kingdom was established, even the Saintess of the Frost Goddess Shrine, Rosalie, and even the High Priest’s disciple had come.

Those hidden forces—Linley didn’t know them—but they all sent people.

“They weren’t looking at my face, but at Bebe’s face. At the face of that king of the Yulan continent plane.” Linley understood clearly. No matter how strong one’s strength, no matter how powerful one’s ancestors, even if the Dragonblood Warrior clan members had become gods in the Hell plane, what did it matter?

The emperor is far away, but the local magistrate is the one in charge.

On the Yulan continent plane, even the War God, the High Priest, and Dylin had to obey Lord Beirut. Bebe had also said that even Hodan, the plane supervisor from the Hell plane, had to follow the rules in front of Lord Beirut.

Beirut’s power was unimaginable.

“In the end, others are others. I must also work hard myself.” Linley didn’t like relying on others.

“Delia, let’s go back to the secret chamber.” Linley took Delia’s hand and said with a smile. Delia smiled slightly, and the couple left the common room, soon stepping through that planar gate. They began their training days again.

Even as he started training, Linley still had a doubt in his heart.

That Hodan was a plane supervisor from Hell, surely backed by the forces of the higher plane ‘Hell’. Why did even this ‘Hodan’ have to follow the rules in front of Lord Beirut? What level of expert was Lord Beirut?

A demigod, or a god?

As for a Sovereign, Linley didn’t dare to think about it. He didn’t dare. For example, the Sovereigns of Darkness—there were only seven in total. Across countless planes and countless years, there were only seven Sovereigns! Only when one died would a new one be born. In trillions of years across countless planes, not necessarily a single new Sovereign would be born. In fact, there was a common knowledge in the higher planes—

Sovereigns could not enter ordinary material planes. Their mere power would cause a material plane to collapse!
