Chapter 10: The Dark Invasion

Senior Brother Qu’s forehead was covered in cold sweat, and his voice was hoarse as he said, “No wonder these treasures have been sitting here all along without anyone taking them. Junior Sister Qing, these treasures have become sentient. If you are not their master, they will turn against you and bring harm!”

Junior Sister Qing shuddered in terror, nodding repeatedly.

Qin Mu said coldly, “These treasures have always been here, and no one has ever dared to take them. Even the mutant beasts dare not. There must be danger. You knew there was danger, yet you still sent your own junior brother to risk his life. Your heart is venomous. You are the true demon!”

“The demon is trying to corrupt people’s hearts again!”

Senior Brother Qu’s expression was one of extreme grief, and he shook his head, saying, “How could you possibly understand the bond between us brothers and sisters? A little demon whelp is just a little demon whelp. You measure my heart with a demon’s heart, so naturally you think my heart is also a demon’s heart. I won’t argue with you now. When dawn comes, I’ll send you on your way.”

Qin Mu frowned. This Senior Brother Qu was insidious, venomous, ruthless, and merciless, even willing to use his own junior brother. He would definitely not let Qin Mu leave alive.

But this man was extremely strong. Qin Mu was no match for him, and on top of that, there was Junior Sister Qing, who was also incredibly formidable!

Just then, the ground suddenly shook, causing the ruins to tremble violently. The muffled roars of mutant beasts came from within the ruins. The beasts trembled, retreating step by step, staring nervously at the entrance to the ruins, their expressions filled with terror.

“What are these mutant beasts afraid of?”

The thought had barely crossed Qin Mu’s mind when an incredibly dense darkness surged like a tide from the towering entrance!

Qin Mu’s heart jolted violently. He saw that the entrance seemed to have an invisible barrier holding back the darkness, while the darkness furiously battered against it, trying to break through!

The barrier at the entrance was twisted and deformed by the impact of the darkness, but it never broke. The darkness followed the barrier’s contortions, shifting shape—sometimes like sharp claws, sometimes like smoke pulled taut by the wind, sometimes like countless spikes, changing in a thousand ways.

Suddenly, the darkness stopped its assault, and the invisible barrier of the entrance quieted down. After a moment, the barrier slowly bulged outward, pressed and stretched backward.

The darkness pushed the barrier at the entrance into the shape of a face—a massive face, its forehead touching the sky above the canyon, its chin pressing against the ground.

All the mutant beasts in the ruins lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to move, not even daring to look up at that face.

The face had three pitch-black eyes. The moment he saw those three eyes, Qin Mu felt a chill run through his entire body, as if his soul were about to be sucked away by the darkness!

The face suddenly opened its mouth, and a low, rumbling voice spoke in a language no one understood.

“Chikedo, Samoyed, Prajna Prajna Samoyed, Chikedo Prajna Samoyed…”

The rumbling voice seemed to be a mixture of countless sounds, filled with an eerie power that made the ground in the ruins tremble continuously. The palace walls crumbled, stone pillars collapsed, and cracks grew larger and larger.

Even the entrance itself shook, shedding stone chips, clearly unable to hold out much longer.

At that moment, a bright light suddenly shone from the square. The pearl in the hands of the skeletal leader grew brighter and brighter.

Qin Mu quickly turned to look. The pearl had flown up into the air, its light as brilliant as clouds, its colorful radiance seeming somewhat thick and viscous.

The viscous glow enveloped the more than two hundred skeletons in the square. Suddenly, the skeletons came to life in the light.

Qin Mu was utterly stunned. He saw that the skeletons in the glow were no longer skeletons, but living, vibrant young women!

Cheeks pink, lips red, clothes as bright as flames!

The girls sat in the square, and at their head was another woman, holding the rising pearl in one hand.

The girls’ mouths began to utter strange words, equally obscure and hard to understand.

“Yi po xiu po sa nan jun he xi, guan ming duan jing wu si jiang you…”

The voice from the darkness grew louder and more majestic, shaking the canyon. Darkness invaded the ruins from all sides, while the girls’ voices grew clearer and more resonant. The light from the pearl burst outward in waves, scattering the darkness like smoke that kept dissipating!

These two sounds were like the voices of gods and demons, clashing endlessly. Sometimes one overpowered the other, sometimes the reverse, while darkness and light collided and clashed!

It was an unbelievable battle, a confrontation that shook Qin Mu’s soul. Although he had grown up in the Great Wasteland, this was the first time he had witnessed such a bizarre scene.

“This voice…”

Qin Mu was stunned. The girls’ voices were somewhat similar to the divine voice he had heard when he tried to break through the fetal membrane. They had the same rhythm. Vaguely, he felt that although the words of the two voices were different, their meanings seemed the same.

When he tried to use his primal energy to break through the fetal membrane, he had dimly heard a voice coming from beyond the nine heavens—sacred, solemn. Every time that voice sounded, his primal energy involuntarily retreated, unable to break through the membrane.

The two voices were still locked in fierce battle, advancing and retreating, winning and losing, but neither could completely suppress the other.

The demonic voice from the darkness was strong and terrifying, while the girls’ voices carried a divine quality—clear, pleasant, resilient, and sacred. Whenever the demonic voice gained an overwhelming advantage, the divine voice would rise up and break the demonic sound.

And the demonic voice, when it lost all its advantage and hit rock bottom, would suddenly erupt, like a river of stars pouring down, like a flood bursting forth—grand, majestic, and unrestrained.

Both voices had their own unique and extraordinary qualities.

Qin Mu listened intently, then suddenly snapped back to reality, his excitement rising. “The demonic and divine voices are attacking each other. The divine voice is similar to the one that blocks my breakthrough. So, can I use the demonic voice to counter the divine voice that blocks me?”

He grew even more excited. This was definitely a good idea!

If he could learn this demonic voice, then when the divine voice sounded during his breakthrough, he could chant it to resist the voice from beyond the nine heavens, allowing his primal energy to break through the fetal membrane!

Once he succeeded in breaking through, with his “Overlord Body” and “Overlord Body Three-Dan Art,” he would no longer need to fear this Senior Brother Qu and Junior Sister Qing!

But then he froze, as if doused with a bucket of ice water.

The voice from beyond the nine heavens was the voice of a god. If he used a demon’s voice to break the god’s voice, wouldn’t that mean he was a demon sealed by a god?

Did that mean Senior Brother Qu and Junior Sister Qing were right? Was he really a little demon whelp?

“No, no!”

Qin Mu shook his head. If he was a demon, then wouldn’t all the other “Overlord Bodies” also be demons?

Then why call it “Overlord Body”? Wouldn’t “Demon Body” be more fitting?

“Who cares if it’s demon body or overlord body? I’ll break through first!”

He acted on the thought. First, he repeatedly memorized and recited the tone, inflection, rhythm, artistic conception, syllables, and timbre of the dark demonic voice, committing its rises and falls, its cadences, to memory.

Only after confirming there were no mistakes did Qin Mu activate the “Overlord Body Three-Dan Art,” channeling his primal energy, and while silently chanting the demonic voice, he drove his primal energy toward the fetal membrane at his brow!
