Chapter 29: Think About What Happens After You Die~

In Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao spent most of his time shuttling between the [Trial Grounds] and his exclusive room.
He did not summon Geng Siro’s mirror image again, instead opting for combat mode to hone his practical fighting skills.
Although he had several ‘deaths’ during this period, Su Xiao still gained a great deal.
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed, and Su Xiao received a notification from Reincarnation Paradise.

[Hunter about to return to the Real World, please remember the regulations of Reincarnation Paradise.]
[Under no circumstances may you reveal anything about Reincarnation Paradise in the Real World, or a warning will be issued. If the warning is ignored, the Hunter will be forcibly executed.]
[The Hunter cannot use abilities gained in Reincarnation Paradise in the Real World, except for personal attributes and passive skills.]
[Most equipment or items obtained in Reincarnation Paradise cannot be retrieved in the Real World; they are locked and will be restored upon returning to Reincarnation Paradise.]
[Teleportation begins. Location: Real World.]

The familiar sensation of teleportation appeared. When Su Xiao regained consciousness, he was lying inside a cold storage compartment.
The temperature inside the compartment was very low, and it was somewhat cramped. Su Xiao’s face darkened. There was only one possibility for his current location.
He kicked hard at the compartment door at his feet. With his current strength, he directly deformed the door, sending it flying outward.
This kick not only sent the compartment door flying but also caused him to slide outward along with it.
The compartment he was in resembled a long, rectangular metal drawer.
“Clang.”
The compartment hit the ground, producing a loud noise in the silent room.
Su Xiao surveyed the room. The fluorescent lights cast an especially cold glow. His guess was correct—this was a morgue, a place for storing corpses.
Earlier, he had been shot dead, and his body had been stored here. He had entered Reincarnation Paradise after feigning death. Reincarnation Paradise had locked onto his life force; he was not truly dead.
The loud noise from the morgue attracted someone’s attention.

In the hospital’s on-duty room, an intern nurse was startled by the loud noise.
The nurse in a white coat recognized the sound as coming from the morgue downstairs, but her colleague on duty with her had gone out to buy a late-night snack. In the dead of night, the empty first floor of the hospital held only her; everyone else had already rested. She was too scared to go out.
“No~, it can’t be a ghost, right? Don’t think nonsense. Teacher once said there are no ghosts or gods in the world. None, none. Wuwu~.”
The nurse’s name was Yi Ruo, an intern of two months.
With her slender figure and fair cheeks, Yi Ruo appeared somewhat delicate, but her delicate features evoked a sense of pity. Dressed in a nurse’s uniform, she exuded a certain uniformed allure.
“Thump.”
Another loud noise came from the morgue. Yi Ruo screamed in fright, dropping the pink hot water cup she was holding. It shattered on the floor.
This loud noise was Su Xiao violently breaking open the morgue door.

He walked down a narrow corridor. Rooms on both sides were labeled with various departments. The pungent smell of disinfectant told Su Xiao this was a hospital, and specifically, a hospital in his city.
Su Xiao had been here once before and had some impression of this small public hospital.
He was not in a hurry to leave. He had to find his family heirloom blade.
He could lose anything, but not that blade.
Su Xiao looked around for hospital staff. He currently had no leads on the blade.
Soon, Su Xiao arrived in front of an on-duty room. The light was on inside, and a pretty young nurse was staring blankly at him.
Su Xiao pushed open the door and walked into the room. Before he could speak, the nurse sitting on the chair rolled her eyes back and fainted, sliding off the chair to the floor.
Puzzled, Su Xiao looked at the fallen nurse. He walked over and pinched her philtrum hard.
The nurse slowly regained consciousness, but upon seeing Su Xiao, terror filled her eyes, and she instinctively tried to scream.
Su Xiao immediately covered her mouth and nose. As his hand touched her fair cheek, a soft, warm sensation came through.
“Don’t make a sound, or I’ll kill you.”
Su Xiao had just left the derivative world not long ago and was still heavy with killing intent.
The nurse nodded frantically, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Su Xiao, appearing utterly pitiful.
“Which police station brought me here?”
The nurse’s earlier reaction made Su Xiao suspect she might have seen him before, hence her current response.
“Mm, mm~.”
The nurse pointed at Su Xiao’s hand, indicating she couldn’t speak. Su Xiao released his grip.
“Huff, huff~.” First came a series of heavy breaths.
“You, you’re not dead, are you? It has nothing to do with me. Don’t come looking for me.” The nurse’s voice trembled slightly, her whole body going limp, tears welling up in her eyes.
Su Xiao continued to stare coldly at the nurse.
“Answer my question.”
Su Xiao’s icy voice made the nurse’s body shudder.
“It, it was the East City precinct that brought you here.”
Having received a clear answer, Su Xiao got up and left directly, heading for the East City precinct. He was born in this second-tier city, so of course he knew where the East City precinct was.
He hailed a taxi on the dark street and headed straight for the East City precinct.

Ten minutes later, Su Xiao arrived in front of the East City precinct.
He wouldn’t enter through the main gate. He was currently an undocumented person and likely had a murder charge hanging over him.
With Su Xiao’s infiltration skills, he managed to sneak into the East City precinct’s evidence room within half an hour.
The more he searched the evidence room, the darker Su Xiao’s expression became. His blade was not here.
Su Xiao was growing impatient. The longer the delay, the slimmer his chances of finding the blade. He walked straight out of the evidence room and began searching for a police officer inside the station.
It sounded crazy, but with his current strength, he didn’t care about the police here at all.
Soon, a young police officer on duty at a desk caught Su Xiao’s eye.
Su Xiao approached the officer from behind. When he was close enough, he suddenly lunged, using his left arm to lock the officer’s neck and his right hand to grip his left fist, forming a rear-naked choke from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This move was extremely brutal. It completely cut off blood flow to the brain. With enough force, it could cause unconsciousness in just two to three seconds and death in under ten seconds.
The young officer didn’t even have a chance to shout. His body went limp.
Su Xiao hoisted the young officer over his shoulder and left the police station the same way he came. Sneaking in and out of this police station in the dead of night was child’s play for him.

-------------

In a dark alley, the young officer gradually regained consciousness.
“If you don’t want to die, answer my questions honestly.”
“Who are you? I’m a police officer….”
Before the young officer could finish, Su Xiao punched him in the chest.
A pained groan came from the officer as he slumped to the ground.
“Where is my blade?”
The young officer looked at Su Xiao in confusion, his face twisted in pain. The punch felt to him like being hit by a train.
“What blade? Who are you?”
“Su Xiao.”
Su Xiao stood in the dark alley, revealing his real name without any hesitation.
Things had reached a point where concealment was pointless. He was certain that by tomorrow, he would be ‘promoted’ to a wanted criminal.
“It’s you. Your blade was taken by the main station’s people.”
The young officer’s tone was calm, showing no abnormality.
“Lying.”
Su Xiao grabbed one of the young officer’s hands. After a series of crisp cracking sounds, the alley echoed with a pig-slaughter-like scream.
“That was five fingers. Next time, it’ll be your neck. After you die, I’ll go find another police officer to ask. There’s more than one cop in this station.
Think about your family. Is this stubbornness really worth it? After you die, your beautiful wife will be toyed with by strange men. Someone else will sleep with your wife and even hit your children….”
The young officer’s face contorted, his eyes blazing with fury. It seemed he was married.
“That blade of yours was taken by our chief. It has nothing to do with me.”
“Very good. Take me to your chief!”
