Chapter 534: Startling Discovery of an Ancient Human Clan Saint
Ye Fan and the others turned back, only to see the ancient nest shrouded in a vast expanse of chaos, surging and completely submerging the place. Everything had vanished.
"From now on, there will be no more Ruthless Person in this world..."
They knew that the Ancient Heavenly Emperor had forever disappeared from the world—a figure who had dazzled through the ages, his glorious years now passed, his life finally coming to an end.
No one understood him, no one knew him, nor did they grasp even a trace of what was in his heart.
When all had faded, only a ghostly face—half-crying, half-smiling—lingered in people's memories, sorrow and joy coexisting. These alone revealed a glimpse of his inner world.
Ye Fan and the others silently withdrew, unable to articulate the feelings in their hearts as they left the resting place of the Ancient Heavenly Emperor.
Only after they had distanced themselves from the ancient nest did they begin to speak again. The young prince of the Primeval Royal Clan invited them to meet his father, treating them as honored guests.
The group shook their heads vigorously, refusing to go even if it meant death. Unless the monkey grew to full maturity and Ye Fan cultivated to the Great Accomplishment Saint Body realm, they would be utterly outmatched—a single glance from a Primeval King could annihilate them.
The Big Black Dog pondered for a long time, then, clutching the Ancient Emperor Token, tried to cozy up to the young prince, asking to borrow some Divine Source blocks.
"I don't want too much; just one or two cubic meters would be enough for me," it said.
The monkey immediately gave it a sidelong glance, finding this dog utterly shameless and refusing to relay the message.
"Monkey, what do you mean by that? Hurry up and ask for me. I know you're not short on Divine Source. Back when Little Leaf cut you out, you were craftier than anyone—you snatched the fierce weapon and carried off both huge chunks of Divine Source that could seal people, leaving us not even a single hair!"
The Big Black Dog, recalling this incident in the Divine City, was furious and began scolding the monkey.
In the end, the monkey relayed the request, but the young prince found it difficult. Divine Source was extremely precious to them as well, and they had no surplus stockpile.
The Big Black Dog refused to give up, unwilling to leave a treasure land empty-handed, and urged Ye Fan to use his Source Art to find a few Divine Source blocks.
Ye Fan had already been searching intently, but most of the large Source blocks were sealed with Primeval Kings, making it hard to find unowned ones.
They walked far and stopped in an ancient cave. Ye Fan's heart stirred as his eyes stung; the cave was dazzling, filled with divine light everywhere.
"Dead dog, stop fooling the kid." Ye Fan called the Big Black Dog over and transmitted a message, telling it to start mining Divine Source.
"Pop!"
He lightly tapped a finger, shattering a massive rock. The stone skin cracked, light blazing, filling the cave with radiance and a sacred, peaceful aura. A Divine Source block the size of a human head rolled out.
The Big Black Dog immediately pounced, clutching it tightly in its arms, hurriedly wiping a drool from its mouth, and shouted, "Is there more?"
"There is—maybe we've really found a divine treasury!" Ye Fan's heart was tense and excited. He felt this would be the greatest harvest since mastering Source Art.
Because deeper in the cave, it was even more dazzling. Many Divine Source blocks were sealed in the stone, likely amounting to two or three cubic meters, comparable to the large Divine Source blocks sealing Primeval Kings!
"Let me do it..." The Big Black Dog personally used its claws to chisel the stone and open the cave. In no time, rainbow light flowed, and the cave shone brilliantly.
Another Divine Source block, the size of a human head, was extracted, making the Big Black Dog nearly transparent as vital energy surged like tides.
"Great fortune, great creation!" Black Emperor grinned foolishly, its mouth nearly twitching.
It bent down and quickly dug into the ground. Before long, it unearthed another Divine Source block the size of a face, its golden divine light blazing like flames.
"No, stop digging!" Ye Fan was startled. He activated his divine eyes and, through the stone wall, saw a person.
But he was too late—the Big Black Dog's claw had already split the stone wall, revealing a massive Divine Source block, over two cubic meters in size, standing quietly deep in the cave.
"Alunani!" the young prince exclaimed.
Ye Fan and the others felt a bone-chilling cold and quickly retreated, sensing a terrifying aura that made their hair stand on end.
Inside the Divine Source block sat an emaciated old man, cross-legged, with no sign of life, yet he radiated an extremely unsettling presence.
He was bare-chested, his gaunt body covered in scales, and wore a beast-skin skirt around his lower half. He looked primitive, but his presence was spine-chilling.
This old man, resembling a caveman, had his eyes tightly shut, deep sockets, and messy gray hair like wild grass. In his hand, he held a bone club.
What was most shocking was that his entire body was bound by iron chains, nearly cutting into his flesh. The crimson chains shimmered with light, clearly no ordinary items, engraved with many patterns.
Those were undoubtedly powerful restraining inscriptions, sealing him so he could not break free or move an inch.
"Who... is this?" Ye Fan was deeply alarmed.
Clearly, this was a prisoner, immensely powerful and terrifying. Though devoid of life, he was like a wooden stake, yet his presence gripped the soul.
"Alunani..." the young prince said in panic, speaking a torrent of words.
"He says this is a Primeval ferocious man, who kills without blinking, treating life like grass, imprisoned here," the monkey translated.
Ye Fan was astonished. He stared at the emaciated old man in beast skin, finding it strange—no matter how he looked, he seemed human, not a Primeval King.
"Damn it, this Emperor also thinks he's a human, not a Primeval Royal Clan member. What's going on?" the Big Black Dog exclaimed in shock.
"Is he really a Primeval ferocious man?" Ye Fan asked the monkey to inquire.
"Omayagui..." The young prince was agitated, backing away, signaling them to leave this place quickly.
"He says this is a Saint from the ancient Human Clan, very terrifying, who killed countless beings," the monkey said with a strange expression.
"What? A Saint from the ancient Human Clan?!" Ye Fan nearly screamed.
"This old fellow in beast skin is a human who survived from the Primeval Era?" The Big Black Dog's eyes went wide, nearly popping out.
The young prince nodded seriously, indicating that this person was extremely dangerous and they needed to leave to avoid misfortune.
"Damn it, he's luckier than the Ancient Great Emperors, living for so long!" the Big Black Dog exclaimed, stunned.
Ye Fan's heart surged with waves of shock. This was the longest-living human he had ever seen.
Regarding the use of Divine Source to survive, he had once asked Black Emperor and the monkey in detail. Seeing the Primeval Royal Clan seal themselves, he had always wondered why ancient human experts hadn't done the same.
The monkey gave him an answer: It was a matter of timing and fate!
The Big Black Dog's explanation was more detailed: Sealing oneself in Divine Source to become a living dead was useless for Ancient Great Emperors because they were too powerful—nothing could contain their life force!
As for human experts below the Great Emperor level, they never had that opportunity, just as the monkey said: timing and fate!
During the Primordial Era, ordinary pure Source could still form, but Divine Source had ended in the Primeval Era.
To seal oneself in Source, already-formed Source blocks couldn't be used; one needed Divine Source liquid, merging into it at the moment of its formation.
Divine Source liquid was the essence of heaven and earth's origin. It gradually vanished in the Primeval Era, and after the final batch formed, it ceased to exist.
During the Primeval Era, some upheavals occurred, causing the flourishing Primeval races to decline. Yet they were fortunate, having the last batch of heaven-earth origin essence to use.
By entering deadly places where Divine Source liquid could form and sealing themselves, they could slumber, awaiting a chance to rise again.
Of course, not everyone had access to Divine Source liquid—only a few Royal Clans and their most trusted subordinates had such fortune.
Otherwise, why would only places like the Primordial Forbidden Zone, Purple Mountain, and Ten Thousand Dragon Nest have ancient biological remains across the vast land?
Survival of the fittest: only a few Royal Clans barely obtained Source liquid; the rest perished under the Primeval Era, turning to dust.
The Primeval Era wasn't short of Divine Source, but forming Divine Source liquid was rare—only the strongest Royal Clans could seize it.
Now, the origin essence of heaven and earth had dried up, making it impossible to recreate the wonders of the Primeval Era. Once Divine Source formed, it could never revert to liquid.
"In the past, how numerous were the Primeval races, flourishing to the extreme, yet out of tens of millions or hundreds of millions, maybe only one could obtain Divine Source liquid," the monkey sighed.
"The Human Clan survived the great calamity of the Primeval Era, so later generations didn't need to seal themselves," Ye Fan said after some thought.
Ancient human experts had long lost the chance to obtain Primeval Divine Source liquid.
As for human Great Emperors, even if they could defy heaven and create Divine Source liquid, it was useless to them. Once they attained the Dao and became emperors, nothing in the world could bind them!
Because they were too powerful, surpassing all things. Aside from Divine Immortality Pills extending their lifespan by one era, no external aid could help them.
Ye Fan briefly pondered and quickly snapped back to reality. The presence of an ancient Human Clan Saint before him was earth-shattering news. If rescued, it would shake the Eastern Wasteland and astonish the world.
Inside the Divine Source block, the old man was truly primitive. His skin was bronze and withered. The beast-skin skirt around his waist had mottled patterns, which upon closer inspection were shocking—it was undoubtedly the hide of a Great Power-level savage beast, and a very powerful one at that!
The white bone club in his hand was smooth, crystalline, and jade-like, clearly no ordinary item. Its full-force strike would be terrifyingly powerful.
But after a moment's thought, Ye Fan relaxed. How could an ancient Human Clan Saint's weapon be ordinary? It was definitely a divine object that would shake the world!
Unfortunately, the old man was bound by crimson chains, suppressed by the innate patterns on them, as good as dead.
"This person cannot be released..." the monkey suddenly said, frowning.
"Why?" Ye Fan asked.
"According to the young prince, his cultivation went wrong, his mind became unclear, and he committed boundless slaughter..."
This was a Saint from the Primeval Human Clan, a terrifying figure at the peak of power, whose combat strength was chilling!
During the Primeval Era, the Human Clan had two supreme divine techniques. Once mastered, one could shake heaven and earth and roam the world unchallenged.
This ancient Saint had cultivated the Sun True Art, reaching its ultimate realm, and then cultivated the Moon True Art, aiming to merge the two divine arts.
But this caused a great problem: the Moon Saint Force and Sun Saint Force clashed, unable to coexist, leading to disaster.
By day, he was a god; by night, a demon. His mind was clouded, and he slaughtered many human experts, as well as countless top figures from other races.
It could be said that this ancient Human Clan Saint committed a heinous massacre, drawing the joint attack of many races.
In the end, the young prince's grandfather and father together suppressed this Human Clan Saint, sealing him here forever.
"Why didn't they kill him?" Ye Fan asked, intrigued.
The young prince looked troubled, his expression somewhat unnatural. The monkey quickly understood and said, "The various races' techniques can be learned from each other."
"I see!" Ye Fan nodded, his heart stirring with excitement.
This ancient Human Clan Saint possessed both supreme divine techniques.
During the Primeval Era, the Human Clan had only two ancient scriptures in total, and he had learned both, combining them in one body—which led to this great disaster!
