Chapter 1499: The Blood of Emperor Wu Shi
Black Emperor had seen this stone chest before!
Emperor Wu Shi’s voice came through, startling it so much that its black fur stood on end. It leaped high into the air, roaring in shock.
That male voice carried a strange charm, inspiring reverence in those who heard it, making them unable to resist listening intently, eager to explore everything about him.
“Since you have traced it here, a great calamity is inevitable…”
Clearly, the Immortal Path was a breaking point, extremely peculiar, disrupting time and space, severing everything. Even Emperor Wu Shi could not see through the ages; all of this was mere speculation.
The voice grew fainter, as if it were being worn away in the river of time, gradually fading.
No strength to spare!
These four words were very clear. Even the things Emperor Wu Shi left behind might not be enough to turn the tide. In those fragmented words, Ye Fan felt a chill run through his body.
“How could this be?” Black Emperor went from excitement to dejection, then to silence.
The true Great Emperors had all died… This was not the first time Black Emperor had said this. It had been mentioned in ancient times, and now it seemed there was some truth to it!
How could the dead contend with living Supremes?
In this era, the Immortal Path was not the great upheaval of the ages. The true cataclysm was the Dark Calamity, on a scale so vast, so bloody and brutal, surpassing all in history, disturbing the mortal world, dyeing the universe red.
“Let’s leave here first.” Ye Fan carried the Great Accomplishment Saint Body on his back, holding the stone chest, and stepped forward first.
As for the Western Emperor, though it was an Imperial corpse, it was utterly unusable. Ye Fan could only take control of this intact Great Accomplishment Saint Body because he possessed the same bloodline and had previously merged with a damaged Saint Body, allowing him to resist the pressure.
In his later years, Emperor Wu Shi had no time to spare, leaving no extra power to suppress this era. Even the contents of the stone chest might not be effective.
This was likely a harsh truth!
Ye Fan reached the surface, leaving the old grounds of the Jade Pool. He silently merged with the father of Emperor Wu Shi. Though it was disrespectful, he could no longer afford to care; he needed this battle.
“The Great Emperor never spoke in absolutes. He must still have some supreme divine might.” Black Emperor said, somewhat dejected.
“Boom!”
At that moment, Ye Fan completed the fusion, erupting with billions of immortal rays, startling the entire dark universe, making this long-barren star field burst into brilliant radiance.
He had taken over the intact Great Accomplishment Saint Body, now a trinity united. He felt a power capable of sweeping through the ages without equal—truly overwhelming.
It must be said that the Great Accomplishment Saint Body was formidable to the extreme. This was an intact one, far surpassing the shell on Sacred Cliff, which had lost much of its essence, in embodying its former supreme divine might.
All of this was also thanks to the azure lotus within Ye Fan’s body. Now he was puzzled—other Saint Bodies seemed to have no such Chaos Lotus in their Wheel Seas.
He had seen several Saint Bodies before, but never found one in their Seas of Suffering. Not even a withered or damaged one—only his own body had produced it.
This Chaos Azure Lotus was very mysterious. As soon as it took root, it directly revived the withered Wheel Seas of two Great Saint Bodies, unleashing a power that shook the ages, making even Ye Fan’s heart race.
Long ago, he had some conjectures, but they seemed absurd. Now, there was no time to ponder; he needed to go into the universe for a bloody battle!
The big black dog fumbled at the stone chest. After a short time, a light click was heard as it opened.
In that instant, its low spirits soared. It forced itself to suppress its excitement, stepped back a few paces, then raised its head and let out a long howl: “Awooo…”
This was hardly a dog; it was more like a wolf with a big tail. Its deep roar shook the heavens, and the surrounding mountains rumbled and trembled, on the verge of collapse.
Inside the stone chest was a crystalline vase, filled with a brilliant red light, dazzling and radiant. Its glow shook heaven and earth, causing the Great Dao to wail and tremble incessantly.
This was a bottle of blood, possessing a strange magic. Even before it broke free, it suppressed the Great Dao, terrifying and boundless!
“Woo…”
Between heaven and earth, gods and demons wailed, hurricanes howled, and all kinds of celestial phenomena appeared. The stars in the universe trembled as if they were about to explode.
This was the essence blood of Emperor Wu Shi, refined and sealed for later generations. It was supreme precious blood, containing fragments of his Great Dao, stunning people beyond words.
“Great Emperor, you were already old and frail back then, with no strength to spare, yet you still refined so much essence blood…” Black Emperor trembled.
There were also some inscriptions, written specifically for Black Emperor.
“The Great Emperor knew I would come. So he wasn’t just speaking casually back then; he was clearly telling me to remember…” Black Emperor’s eyes rolled with tears.
The words were few, saying that if a Primordial Saint Body Dao Fetus were found, using these things could briefly allow Emperor Wu Shi to reappear in the mortal world!
Unfortunately, in this era, such a physique had yet to appear.
“A great regret in life! Leaf, do you think I should have pushed you back then? It really does need a Primordial Saint Body Dao Fetus…” Black Emperor let out a heart-wrenching cry, nearly pouncing over.
Perhaps that was the chance to see Emperor Wu Shi again.
A Primordial Saint Body Dao Fetus could not be found on short notice. There was a Saint Body, but according to speculation, it could not make Emperor Wu Shi reappear, though it should be able to use these things.
Black Emperor had once been almost obsessive, almost mad, pressing for the birth of a Primordial Saint Body Dao Fetus, not even knowing how great a use it would have in the end.
“Indeed… what Emperor Wu Shi said casually back then was all useful, but I didn’t take it to heart!” Black Emperor regretted bitterly.
There was no time to waste. Ye Fan held the vase in his hand. When the stone chest opened, the seal on the stopper automatically dissolved; he only needed to pull it out.
This bottle of blood contained Imperial Dao laws, exactly what Ye Fan needed now!
Even so, this trip might not be enough, because these were all pieced together. But he believed this bottle of blood could certainly severely wound a Supreme.
“It’s not over yet. There’s also a formation here, seemingly able to summon something!” Black Emperor said.
It was a miniature formation, very small, only big enough for one person to stand on, but extremely complex and profound, as if condensed from the entire universe, with stars dotting it, impossible to decipher.
Black Emperor was baffled; it couldn’t figure it out either. But with its deep expertise, it managed to read a line of text from the array patterns, suggesting it was meant to summon something.
“This is… to summon what?” The big black dog couldn’t fathom it. Too mysterious. This formation had never been heard of, and Emperor Wu Shi had never mentioned it before.
“It should be a powerful force, likely capable of severely wounding a Supreme.” This was the consensus between Ye Fan and Black Emperor, and they thought it best to use it on the battlefield for safety.
Ye Fan soared into the air. His physical body was now unmatched in power; a slight tremor could shatter a star field.
He didn’t immediately head into the universe but rushed toward the Fire Domain in his memory. The entire planet had shattered into pieces, many mountains and rivers no longer existed; he didn’t know if he could still find it.
When he arrived, his body trembled, because a figure had already come ahead of him, standing in the tenth layer of the Fire Domain, communicating with the ultimate immortal flame.
“Is someone else after the same thing?”
Ye Fan wanted to try here. He was eager to take that flame. Even the Desolate Tower could be tempered by it, so it should be able to harm a Supreme. Though the hope was slim, he couldn’t bear not to try.
“It’s Senior Gai Jiuyou!”
In an instant, Ye Fan recognized who it was. This once-stunning figure, who almost attained the Dao under the suppression of the Green Emperor’s Great Dao, was now even more aged.
Gai Jiuyou was playing the Tribulation Transcendence Immortal Tune. A flame composed of immortal talismans danced before him, moving constantly, looking mysterious beyond measure.
“You go ahead. I’ll use my remaining strength to lure the immortal flame.” Gai Jiuyou’s divine thought came through.
Ye Fan’s heart trembled. Gai Jiuyou was truly even more aged, with little life left. Without the Green Emperor, he would have attained the Dao back then, because under that pressure, he had almost taken that step!
The once-peerless hero was now like this, old and frail, heartbreaking. It seemed he intended to draw the immortal flame into his body and go into the universe for a battle!
“Senior… take care!” Ye Fan could only say this. He wanted to stop him but held back. This might be Gai Jiuyou’s last glorious battle.
He took Little Nannan and Black Emperor, transformed into a beam of light, shattered the void, and headed for the Ancient Forbidden Land. He hadn’t given up on the Forbidden Lord, wanting to invite her to fight!
This place had naturally been preserved and couldn’t be destroyed. As they approached, they saw a tall figure pulling a huge immortal cocoon up from the shattered abyss.
It was Old Madman. After years without seeing him, his blood energy was still vigorous, even stronger.
“You go first. Leave this to me!” Old Madman said.
Now, the Forbidden Lord was asleep, and this place had lost its power to drain time. Still, he was struggling, because he was pulling up two ancient steles, seemingly to use some forbidden power they contained!
One was the Immortal Ascension Stele, the other the Six Paths Reincarnation Stele!
“Alright, I’m going to fight. Black Emperor, take care of Little Nannan…” Ye Fan said.
He knew Little Nannan was very mysterious and had great potential, but against true ancient Supremes, it would be useless; she had no combat awareness at all.
The little girl immediately hugged his leg, tears streaming down in strings. She refused to let go, insisting on going with him.
“I don’t want Big Brother to go die… Nannan is very strong, I want to go with Big Brother!” She pouted and cried, because she knew that once Ye Fan left, he would never return.
“Nannan, be good. Big Brother won’t die. I still want to… watch you grow up.” Ye Fan sighed softly, gave them one last look, then emitted a divine light from his body, pried her little hands away, and resolutely charged toward the outer domain.
“No, I don’t want Big Brother to go die!” Little Nannan sobbed, reaching a small hand toward the starry sky, trying to grasp something.
Black Emperor sighed, standing outside the Ancient Forbidden Land, looking at the cold starry sky. It waved its big claw forcefully and said, “Blood will not be shed in vain. In later generations, someone will always destroy those Supremes. It’s just a pity for this era—so many heroes buried in foreign lands, too many lost.” (To be continued)
