Chapter 1485: The Source of the Ancient Supremes' Survival

The battle robe on the Reincarnation Lord was glowing. The immortal material, Feather-Transformation Azure Gold, was extremely rare. At this moment, it shone brilliantly, with large swaths of divine feathers flying out, like the beautiful long tail feathers of a phoenix, blazing and dazzling.

His armor clanked and rang. The battle robe forged from Feather-Transformation Azure Gold emitted an ultimate life fluctuation, now fully revived, its radiance illuminating the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths!

Only in the hands of a true Great Emperor-level figure could such a weapon unleash its most powerful force, allowing a Supreme's combat power to stack to a terrifyingly extreme degree.

As an ancient Supreme, having been struck by someone, how could the Reincarnation Lord let it go? Naturally, he would counterattack with overwhelming force. They were the supreme and exalted masters, the true rulers under the eternal blue heavens. Since ancient times, no one had been able to provoke or challenge them.

And when a Supreme encountered another Supreme, great trouble was bound to arise. Both were existences of this level—who was truly invincible? If discord arose, there would inevitably be a life-or-death battle!

Boom!

Heaven and earth shattered. The Reincarnation Lord displayed his unparalleled divine might. Before him appeared ten thousand divine chains, each one stirring the heavens, transforming into resplendent shackles meant to lock down the Wasteland Lord and suppress her.

Slap!

That jade-white palm directly pressed down, colliding with the many brilliant chains that resembled phoenix feathers. It was incomparably dazzling, shaking the ten directions of the universe, astonishing beyond measure.

This was a collision between Supremes, a sight rarely seen in ten thousand ages. Had it not been for the arrival of this great era, how could such a thing be witnessed in the world? No one could have beheld it.

A violent, great explosion occurred. The universe seemed to be destroyed, returning to its origin. The former Big Dipper Star Domain ceased to exist, directly erased, turned into fine powder.

Countless stars exploded, transforming into beautiful rain of light that flew in all directions. This was a grand destruction beneath a magnificent fireworks display!

If a Supreme disregarded everything, heaven would collapse, earth would sink, and the entire cosmos would undergo a great annihilation, leaving nothing behind.

Had it not been for the Wasteland Lord's other hand shielding the area below, protecting the shattered ancient life land, all life here would have been extinguished, leaving nothing.

This was the law and Dao of a Supreme. This time, the Reincarnation Lord was fully prepared, unlike the first encounter when he was caught off guard. Yet even so, thousands of his resplendent order chains were broken!

That jade-white palm broke through everything, sweeping away all obstacles, difficult to resist. Even a Supreme as powerful as him nearly suffered injury. The Reincarnation Lord's expression changed. His body glowed again, even more intensely, his armor submerged in chaotic mist. He let out a great shout and resumed the battle.

Though the white-robed woman appeared peerlessly elegant and transcendent, she truly possessed earth-shaking, ghost-weeping divine power. With a single step of her lotus feet, she seemed to cross a thousand years, disrupting time itself, arriving in an instant before him.

Her attack was simple and direct—still a single palm strike, aiming to take the Reincarnation Lord's life. This domineering stance caused the other several Supremes to change color as well.

"Hum!"

The Reincarnation Lord's eyes emitted an eerie light, and his forehead bone was crystalline and brilliant, shooting out ten thousand strands of immortal radiance. They formed terrifying runes, transforming into an immortal blade that slashed toward the Wasteland Lord's brow.

"Ha!"

The Wasteland Lord's Immortal Platform was dim. Her primordial spirit was strange, sometimes strong, sometimes weak, even approaching nothingness at times. But her physical body contained supreme Dao principles, capable even of containing the great universe, harboring peculiar divine consciousness power. With a single shout, she produced a Dao diagram that directly sealed the heavens, blocking that immortal blade.

At the same time, her jade-white palm pressed down again, engaging in close-quarters combat, striking toward the Reincarnation Lord's face.

Rumble!

This was a confrontation of law and Dao, a contest of personal insights and experiences. A Supreme duel encompassed too many aspects, each one determining victory or defeat.

But the Wasteland Lord's physical body was exceptionally powerful. This time, unlike her previous casual strikes, she unleashed the roar of the Heavenly Dao, causing all the myriad Daos of the countless worlds to submit.

This was a true path of "Only I Am Supreme." Even when facing a Supreme, it was the same—with me present, there is no enemy. Even when striking at a Supreme, she remained so composed and calm, treating them like mere grass!

Boom!

This clash was intensely fierce. The Reincarnation Lord had been undefeated throughout his life, roaming heaven and earth without encountering a rival. Even during the ancient imperial road struggles, he had swept through everything. But now, he suffered a tremendous shock. His right palm felt as if it had been shattered, excruciatingly painful.

This was something that had never happened in his long years. How could a Supreme feel pain? They had long been invincible under heaven. When had they ever tasted such bitter fruit? It was simply unimaginable.

Moreover, this time, he was sent flying, coughing up large mouthfuls of blood, his hair disheveled. After falling, he staggered backward, having suffered a severe blow.

Blood dripped from his right palm. The part of the battle robe made from immortal gold on his hand had shattered, breaking his hand bones, flesh and blood mangled, white bone stubs exposed.

It was too shocking. He had actually been wounded in this battle!

"Do you bully me for being old and frail? I have never been defeated once in my life! Today, though I paid the price for storming the Immortal Path, do you think I have no strength left to fight? I come from the Reincarnation Sea. In this life, I am destined to be invincible. Even if I am weakened, I can instantly sublimate and restore my peak combat power!"

The Reincarnation Lord's voice was cold and merciless, his face showing no ripple. He walked forward step by step, his aura growing increasingly terrifying.

"She has killed people like you before!" From the depths of the universe, the Great Accomplishment Saint Body, covered in golden fur, said coldly.

At these words, the ten-direction universe shook violently. Heaven and earth rumbled. That white-robed woman moved forward like a flying immortal, ethereal and peerless.

The other several Supremes were all shaken, revealing expressions of disbelief. "It's her… she actually survived!"

Every Supreme had their own Dao, unchanged through ten thousand ages, even after cutting themselves down. But this person had even changed her Dao, which was why they had not recognized her earlier.

Even the Dao was undergoing transformation, becoming unrecognizable. How shocking was this? It was terrifying, too shocking. Even the Supremes were no exception—all changed color!

"Without taking that step, you… actually survived?!" For the first time, the Reincarnation Lord's heart sank. He was no longer as arrogant as before, now revealing the most solemn expression.

It was like the night before he attained the Dao, when he had slain many great enemies, roamed the universe, and fought across the eight wastelands, raising his essence, energy, and spirit to their limits.

The Reincarnation Lord was tall and majestic. Chaotic mist submerged his body, making him appear like a demon god who had survived from the era of heaven and earth's creation. Amid the haze, brilliant light also enveloped him, making him especially terrifying and awe-inspiring in this cold and dark universe.

Among the ancient Supremes, more wielded weapons, while fewer forged immortal gold battle robes. Those who did were inevitably hard to fight, as they emphasized defense.

At this moment, his forehead bone glowed, illuminating the dark universe. It was as if a deity sat on his Immortal Platform, reciting scriptures, reflected outward, shining through ten thousand ages—truly world-shaking!

Before him and behind him appeared a vast ocean, an ocean formed from souls. It was one of the most terrifying places in the world—the Reincarnation Sea manifested once more.

"I control the reincarnation of the world. I am the lord of the realm. In the past, there was no opponent under the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths. In this life, I will not be defeated either. My battle soul awakens; I shall destroy the world!"

The Reincarnation Lord walked forward, his eyes deep and frightening, filled with scenes of suns and moons being destroyed, stars falling, and heaven and earth collapsing. His body was submerged in chaos, terrifying beyond measure.

The Reincarnation Sea turned, as if about to reincarnate the entire human world. At this moment, it caused countless stars to fly over and sink into it.

Then, even more brilliant great stars fell, cascades of star rivers descending, all plunging into the Reincarnation Sea. He truly seemed like a ruler, invincible under heaven.

"You control the reincarnation of the world. What about the heavens above?" The white-robed woman spoke for the first time. Her voice was cold, yet also carried a magnetism. If not for its ruthlessness, it would have sounded like heavenly music, extremely pleasant.

"Then let's fight. A Supreme duel, to decide victory or defeat, to see who rules the human world!" The Reincarnation Lord roared, his thick hair flying wildly. The Azure Gold battle robe glowed, and the deity within it also raged, seeking revenge for the part that had been shattered earlier.

"Rumble!"

The two charged toward each other, about to engage in the most peak battle!

Beside them, the other four watched with cold expressions, neither intervening nor showing any reaction.

They were all Supremes, once rulers of the primordial universe. They disdained to join forces against an enemy, because each was invincible, believing only in themselves. How could they consider anyone else the strongest in the world?

This was not arrogance, but fact. In their time, they truly were!

"The Reincarnation Lord has already begun the battle. We should also set out. Farewell here. Let each of us depart on our own journey."

"The Reincarnation Lord's situation is worrying. He will likely fall from his undefeated reputation in this life."

"The Wasteland Lord is flawed, her divine consciousness erratic. The Reincarnation Lord should have no fear…"

……

These figures were all supremely powerful existences, familiar with this universe. They had once ruled it, once guarded it, once fought over it. Recalling the glorious years of the past, each of their expressions would momentarily blur.

Unfortunately, those days were gone forever. They had changed!

Without a doubt, the Supremes within the Seven Forbidden Zones of Life were either Supremes from the Mythical Era, or Primordial Emperors, or else Human Clan Great Emperors and Sacred Spirit Divine Fetuses—each with astonishing origins.

By now, this was no longer a secret, known to the world.

At this level, they could not seal themselves in Source. No substance in heaven or earth could keep their Immortal Platforms immortal, because they were all too powerful to be suppressed.

The reason they could survive was that each had their own method of longevity. Of course, there was also a prerequisite: they had cut themselves down! They had withdrawn from the Imperial Dao position, fallen from that realm. Otherwise, how could they have sealed themselves until now?

Some, after falling from that realm, could lie dormant for ten thousand ages, never emerging. Possessing Primordial Life Stones, Immortal Source, and other materials allowed them to seal themselves for extremely long periods.

Among such existences were a few Human Clan Great Emperors, a few Primordial Emperors, and others. They only awakened when the Immortal Path opened, directly emerging to fight for the Immortal Path in this life.

Of course, such people would inevitably be weakened to their lowest point. Thus, before the Immortal Path even ended, they fell. Bloody examples stood before them.

And some, even when sealing themselves with Immortal Source, Primordial Life Stones, and other rare substances, due to the immense passage of time or various problems along the way, could not hold on. They awakened early in ancient times, on the verge of aging.

Thus, the Dark Calamities came into being!

A grain of sand contains a world; a blade of grass contains a heaven. Similarly, living beings are the same. No matter how weak they are, they contain a great miracle. Within their bodies lies the most precious substance in this world: life.

The strong have more of this substance; the weak have relatively less. It is like countless treasures hidden within the bodies of every living being.

When a Supreme awakened midway, to survive, to extend their immortality, the Dark Calamity ensued. It was not limited to the Big Dipper. The eight wastelands of the universe were their hunting grounds.

When ancient sages from beyond the domain descended on the Big Dipper, some had discussed and suspected that the calamity originated from the Big Dipper Star Domain, though it was never confirmed.

Ancient Supremes would not drain a single place dry. They acted selectively, preserving some seeds of life in those ancient star domains. Even when drawing life force over long periods to maintain their Immortal Platforms' immortality, prevent crack expansion, and repair their life wheels.

Of course, this substance was like an Immortal Divine Medicine. Once used, its potency sharply decreased. The same amount would inevitably become useless. If needed again next time, ten or a hundred times the amount would be required!

Thus, each Dark Calamity was more terrifying than the last. By now, each Supreme needed to devour life in units of hundreds of millions. The one who had consumed the most had already bloodily slaughtered tens of billions of beings—for example, the Stone Emperor!

But this could not grant them a second life. It only temporarily resisted the erosion of time and delayed aging.

Life was the greatest miracle in the world, yet it had also become the greatest source of calamity!

When the Supremes within the Forbidden Zones of Life launched a Dark Calamity, if they encountered a Great Emperor active in the world, they naturally had to retreat with all their might, since they had already fallen from that realm and did not want to fight to the death.

But if it coincided with the era of the Primordial Saint Body, and they needed life force, then there was no choice but to fight. They could not avoid it. Because in those desolate years, Great Emperors emerged not just one or two at a time. After one passed away, another would attain the Dao. Their respective eras were almost consecutive!

Of course, it was impossible for Great Emperors to truly meet, as there was a period that affected Dao attainment. But even in eras without a Great Emperor, there would be a Great Accomplishment Saint Body!

The ancient Supremes of that time had no choice but to act. They could not avoid it. This led to the most terrifying Dark Calamities, with bloody great battles.

Although the ancient Supremes had withdrawn from the Imperial Dao position, if a Human Clan Great Emperor came to suppress them, they could also elevate themselves to their peak, briefly restore their former glory. Victory or death was uncertain!

However, doing so came at a great cost. Even if they did not die in battle, or even if they killed the Human Clan Great Emperor, they might wither away after the battle.

After a battle, if they did not die but had used their severed Imperial Dao fruit, only a few lucky Supremes could survive.

Thus, if not for the constant emergence of Primordial Era Great Emperors and the successive appearances of Great Accomplishment Saint Bodies, the most terrifying bloody eras would not have occurred, because no one could suppress them.

No one wanted to engage in a Great Emperor battle. Both ancient Supremes and Human Clan Great Emperors risked falling.

And in those eras without a Great Emperor, it was truly too tragic. Heaven and earth were stained red with blood. It was not limited to the Big Dipper. It happened in other places too—a human tragedy!

The four Supremes had once ruled the rise and fall of the world, lords of the realm, revered by hundreds of thousands of clans across the universe. But now, looking back, what was left?

Perhaps they too had sighed inwardly, but it had long been drowned by coldness, replaced by ruthlessness!

They were no longer who they once were!

The four ancient Supremes took one last look, each choosing a direction. They were about to set out, heading to different ancient star domains to "feed," about to launch the greatest Dark Calamity in history!

The entire universe trembled. All living beings were terrified, all sensing a great disaster imminent, an end-of-the-world aura. None did not shudder.

And some ancient domains already knew what was happening in the Big Dipper Star Domain. Some heavenly fate masters foresaw the bloodshed and the arrival of the most terrifying chaotic era, weeping bitterly.

"Oh, Great Emperors of the Human Clan, please revive! This mortal world will again suffer great tribulation. Who can save the living from fire and water? Who can spare the living from bloodshed?! Wuwu…"

"The Big Dipper is already a scene of devastation. Supreme Great Emperors, we beg you to return!"

"Wuwu… Where is Emperor Void? We are willing to pray for you, exchange our lives for your return, reappear in the mortal world!"

The mournful cries of the living shook heaven and earth, seemingly transmitted to this domain. It was a spiritual sublimation of resonance.

Suddenly, the Wasteland Lord made her move, launching the most terrifying attacks simultaneously against the four Supremes who were about to depart!

Her white robe was peerless, her hair flying, her countenance pure and ethereal. Yet she was domineering to the extreme. That was the power of a Soaring Immortal, its light illuminating the thirty-three heavens, causing the entire universe to tremble. One person was about to fight five Supremes!

Just one chapter today. We've reached the later stages. Allow me to catch my breath and think about the connection of the following parts, to give everyone the best possible ending.
