# Chapter 1507: The Monk Emperor and the Silkworm Emperor
Mount Sumeru shook mightily, as if about to split apart. The array patterns laid down by Amitabha could not stop the descent of the Divine Emperor. The mountain body was cracking, trembling violently.
Huge boulders rolled down to the foot of the mountain. The magnificent temples swayed. The great bell behind the temple rang on its own, its sound shaking heaven and earth, vibrating throughout the Western Land.
This place was in complete chaos. All the Heavenly Bodhisattvas, Ancient Buddhas, and others could not withstand this pressure. They were forced to sit cross-legged on the ground, their bodies about to split, blood streaks appearing one after another.
The Divine Emperor had descended. Even the Great Emperor's array patterns could no longer protect this place. As Ye Fan had expected, the mountain gate had been breached, and they could now kill their way inside.
Above Ye Fan's head hung the Green Copper Cauldron. He held the Slaughter Sword, ready to enter and rescue his disciple.
Of course, doing so was very risky. He had not anticipated this being the Divine Emperor. The Nine-Colored Immortal Robe worn by the corpse was even more powerful than the Imperial Corpse he had planned for, shaking everyone's hearts.
He did not act rashly, because things were too strange now. Even he felt something was unreal. The Divine Emperor truly seemed to possess life and consciousness.
Ji Ziyue held the Void Mirror, standing shoulder to shoulder with Ye Fan. Old Immortal and the others had regained control of the Devouring Demon Jar and were also on careful defense, protecting everyone on this side.
Mount Sumeru was deathly silent. Old Monk Mo Ke's expression turned tragic. He led the Bodhisattvas and Ancient Buddhas in sitting cross-legged, chanting "Amitabha," their hymns shaking the heavens.
This turn of events exceeded his expectations and judgment. Now, anything said was too late.
Great Peacock Bright King held the Demon-Subduing Pestle, using this Imperial Artifact's divine might to protect the mountain. She stood before the Great Thunderclap Monastery, blocking the spreading fluctuations of the Ancient Emperor. But upon closer inspection, her body was trembling.
This was a world-shaking change that no one had anticipated!
The Star River stretched vast and boundless, cascading down from the cosmic starry sky, a vast expanse of white. It submerged the Ancient Emperor on the path up Mount Sumeru, bathing him in sunlight, moonlight, and starlight, dazzling and brilliant.
The Nine-Colored Battle Robe revived, flashing with brilliant luster. It possessed the texture of cold metallic armor and emitted clanging divine sounds, making the Ancient Emperor appear even more majestic and imposing.
Vast starlight intermingled with chaotic mist, scattering onto his body and wrapping around him. His form became increasingly divine and sacred. The Ancient Emperor of Divine Silkworm Ridge had become the sole focus of heaven and earth!
The Divine Emperor was invincible in life, and even in death, he suppressed the Western Desert, causing even Great Sages to tremble in fear. Everyone shivered, their faces pale as snow.
"What, he moved!"
The next moment, a Saint screamed. It was like an ordinary mortal, completely unbefitting their status, as if they had been frightened, having seen the most terrifying thing.
"Heavens, the Divine Emperor is not dead. He still lives!"
Another person was horrified, feeling as if their heart would leap out of their throat. They widened their eyes, unable to believe what they saw, staring at the figure on the path up Mount Sumeru.
The Divine Emperor was walking, step by step ascending Mount Sumeru along the mountain path, heading toward the rows of magnificent temples. Each step was so terrifying that it dimmed the array patterns on Mount Sumeru, unable to stop him.
Who could believe it? Ten thousand years later, an Ancient Emperor long since passed had revived, looking down upon the mortal world, walking through the pure land of Buddhism!
The Saints watched with hair standing on end. Powerful fluctuations spread over, making their legs cramp and their bodies shake like chaff.
Even the Great Sages felt their scalps go numb, watching with trembling hearts. This defied all logic. How could the Divine Emperor come back to life?
The Divine Emperor's form was majestic. His steps had a particular rhythm, neither fast nor slow, always consistent. He trampled the Great Dao of heaven and earth beneath his feet, causing Mount Sumeru to shake as if it would collapse.
"Amitabha!"
All the Arhats, Bodhisattvas, Ancient Buddhas, and others chanted sutras together, taking shelter before the Great Thunderclap Monastery, hiding behind the Demon-Subduing Pestle. Each was oppressed by the Imperial might, unable to breathe.
"This is…" Even the experts from Divine Silkworm Ridge were shocked. Was the Ancient Emperor truly still alive? This was maddening, overturning their understanding of the world.
"Is the Ancestral Emperor ascending Mount Sumeru to seek a confrontation with Amitabha, to debate the Dao? Unfortunately, the other has already passed into nirvana."
The Divine Emperor had revived, climbing the mountain step by step like this. For what purpose? After ten thousand years of loneliness, he had sensed Mount Sumeru, felt the fluctuations and traces of an ancient Great Emperor, and was delighted to find a worthy opponent!
At their level, their entire lives were spent in invincible loneliness, yearning for an evenly matched opponent. But finding one was harder than ascending to heaven.
When the Divine Emperor reached the summit, Great Peacock Bright King immediately sat down on the ground, unable to withstand the pressure. Only the Demon-Subduing Pestle glowed, growing increasingly brilliant, resisting on its own.
With a rumbling sound, the Great Thunderclap Monastery blazed with light. The purple-gold tiles and roof ridges all burst forth with auspicious colors. Buddhist energy surged, shooting straight into the clouds.
A sound of Buddha echoed through the Western Land. A Buddhist figure appeared inexplicably. No one saw how he arrived. He stood before the Great Thunderclap Monastery, blocking the Divine Emperor's path.
This was a gray-robed monk, wrapped in chaotic mist, his features indistinct. But upon careful examination, he closely resembled the Amitabha statue enshrined in the temple.
He stood beside the long-dried Bodhi tree before the temple, his face bearing compassion. When his aura rippled out, it was as vast as a mountain.
"Amitabha!"
All the monks on Mount Sumeru chanted the Buddha's name, revealing expressions of shock.
Outside Mount Sumeru, the various heroes were also shaken. One by one, they could not help but cry out in surprise, uttering the words "Amitabha," unable to believe what they were seeing.
One era cannot accommodate two Emperors. Ancient Emperors never meet each other. This was common knowledge, but today it was being overturned again and again.
The Divine Emperor had revived. Amitabha had reappeared. The two had come together. Were they going to fight?!
Many people wondered if they were dreaming. Experiencing all this firsthand made them doubt whether they had gone mad, whether their perceptions were still normal!
The Divine Emperor stepped forward. His immortal robe clanged, like the roar of dragons and the cry of tigers, shaking people's eardrums until they ached, making their flesh and blood feel as if they would be dried up.
Amitabha held the Demon-Subduing Pestle, which also radiated boundless precious light, blocking his path. The two seemed locked in confrontation.
Boom!
The Divine Emperor's body swelled, rising straight into the clouds before the Great Thunderclap Monastery, reaching who knew how many tens of thousands of feet tall. Amitabha did not fall behind, also towering into the clouds, his enormous Buddha form standing tall between heaven and earth.
This sight terrified the crowd. Was a confrontation between Emperor and Emperor taking place? Across ten thousand years, there was actually a day when they faced each other and made a move!
People found it hard to accept, unable to believe.
"Is that Amitabha's residual imprint projection?"
"But… how do we explain the Divine Emperor coming to life? He should be a corpse, yet he ultimately stepped step by step up Mount Sumeru. How can we say he hasn't revived?!"
The Saints were uncertain, their faces pale. Every event that had occurred today was hair-raising, too shocking and inconceivable.
If this were real, for a Great Emperor and an Ancient Emperor, it might be the most important event of their lives. A lifetime of invincible loneliness, finally finding an opponent.
Emperors never meet each other. Today, this principle was broken.
Perhaps every Great Emperor yearned to be born in a different era, to battle the Emperors of old, to find a true opponent.
Unfortunately, each passed into nirvana in solitude. Their wishes could not come true. They could hardly encounter their equals.
Mount Sumeru trembled. The sun, moon, and stars shook as if about to fall. The two seemed to compete with heaven, their laws spreading everywhere, as if a confrontation was occurring between them.
Their bodies continued to swell, reaching directly into the outer realm. Their size defied all reason, startling all living beings in the entire Big Dipper Star Domain. Their divine might was unmatched in the world.
"Is the Divine Emperor truly revived?" Some experts from Divine Silkworm Ridge spoke with trembling voices, their bodies shaking. After the shock, only excitement remained.
"This is not my father in control." Divine Silkworm Daoist shook his head, his tone carrying both sorrow and regret.
The people around him froze. This was the Ancient Emperor's own son. If he said so, then it was likely not true. But they had clearly seen the Divine Emperor walking, ascending Mount Sumeru along the mountain path.
Ye Fan sighed softly. After watching for a long time, he too understood everything. The Divine Emperor's invincible loneliness, Amitabha's regret—neither could be compensated. They ultimately could not meet.
These two were not themselves. If it were the true bodies of the Emperors confronting each other, heaven and earth would surely resonate, sending down unprecedented phenomena never seen in ten thousand years.
Emperors never meet each other, never find opponents in life. This curse was hard to break!
"This is a confrontation and contest between two weapons, not the Great Emperors themselves still alive." Divine Silkworm Daoist revealed the mystery.
His father had walked up Mount Sumeru. Although he moved, it was not because he had regained consciousness. It was his immortal robe that was in control, keeping his majestic body upright, looking down upon ten thousand years.
Amitabha's appearance was similar. The Demon-Subduing Pestle had revived under the immense Imperial-level fluctuations, combining with the fist-sized relic to manifest Amitabha's projection.
In truth, there were no true bodies. There were only two Imperial Artifacts. Their respective masters' Dao confronted each other, as if seeking an opponent for the lonely Emperor, fulfilling their final regrets.
In the outer realm, the upright Divine Emperor and the compassionate Amitabha faced off. Laws flowed, radiating boundless divine light.
No true confrontation occurred. It was merely a probing of Dao and law. The two did not engage in serious combat. The two Imperial Artifacts had revived, controlling everything, very cautious and careful.
Boom!
In the end, their bodies shrank, returning to normal height, reappearing at the summit of Mount Sumeru—before the Great Thunderclap Monastery.
Amitabha disappeared, leaving only the Demon-Subduing Pestle hanging in the air. The Buddha relic also fell to the ground, motionless.
On the other side, the immortal robe clanged softly, as if in mourning. Ultimately, it could not keep the Ancient Emperor of antiquity. Even seeing his corpse could not change anything.
The crowd was astonished. How could they not understand what had happened? Everything stemmed from the two Imperial weapons reviving on their own!
"Buddhism speaks of transcendence, of great awakening, as the way to attain the Dao." At this moment, the Demon-Subduing Pestle transmitted a divine sound. This weapon, having revived, actually spoke.
"Amitabha." Old Monk Mo Ke and the others all chanted the Buddha's name, listening respectfully. They knew the Demon-Subduing Pestle was speaking to them.
"Have you transcended, have you awakened? Release that child." The Demon-Subduing Pestle continued.
"Release him from the mountain?" Neither Mo Ke nor Great Peacock Bright King showed any hint of defiance. This Imperial weapon was forged by Amitabha himself, protecting the Buddhist land of the Western Desert. It was supreme and must be revered.
"Release him. Have you released him in your hearts?" The Demon-Subduing Pestle asked calmly.
Great Sage Mo Ke immediately pressed his palms together, confessing his sins, continuously chanting the Buddha's name.
Before long, golden-bodied Arhats brought Huahua out, making him appear before the Great Thunderclap Monastery, preparing to release him from Mount Sumeru.
No one had expected such an ending, that things would conclude like this.
"Clang"
The Ancient Emperor's battle robe trembled lightly. The armor disassembled, turning into streaks of immortal light that fell away. The Imperial corpse, wrapped in chaotic mist, stood at the summit of Mount Sumeru.
