Chapter 19: Composed and Unhurried

Ye Fan’s expression was calm as he looked at the group of people blocking his path. He had long anticipated that this day would come. Ever since he obtained the Primordial Mother Qi Root and the Dragon-Pattern Blackgold Holy Spirit Sword, he knew that countless eyes would be fixed on him.

“Ye Fan, hand over the treasures you obtained from the Ancient Forbidden Land, and we might spare your life,” a young man from the Ji Family spoke coldly, his eyes filled with greed.

Ye Fan smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. He recognized many of them—disciples from the Holy Lands, members of the Primordial Aristocratic Clans, and even some rogue cultivators. They had all gathered here, united by their desire for his fortune.

“And if I refuse?” Ye Fan asked calmly, his tone carrying a hint of mockery.

“Then don’t blame us for being rude!” another cultivator shouted, his weapon already drawn.

Ye Fan shook his head slightly. He had no intention of wasting words with these people. With a thought, the Golden Taiji Circle appeared beneath his feet, and his aura instantly surged. The surrounding cultivators felt a tremendous pressure, and their expressions changed drastically.

“What… what kind of power is this?!” someone exclaimed in shock.

Ye Fan did not answer. He raised his hand, and the Dragon-Pattern Blackgold Holy Spirit Sword appeared in his grasp. The sword hummed, and a black-gold dragon shadow coiled around it, exuding a terrifying might.

“If you want to die, then come,” Ye Fan said indifferently, his gaze as cold as ice.

The crowd hesitated. They had heard of Ye Fan’s strength, but they had never expected him to be this formidable. However, the temptation of the treasures was too great. Someone finally couldn’t resist and charged forward.

Ye Fan’s eyes sharpened. He swung his sword, and a black-gold sword light shot out, tearing through the void. The charging cultivator didn’t even have time to scream before he was cleaved in two, blood splattering everywhere.

The scene fell into dead silence. Everyone stared at Ye Fan in horror, their greed replaced by fear.

“Anyone else?” Ye Fan asked calmly, his voice devoid of emotion.

No one dared to answer. They looked at each other, then silently retreated. Ye Fan put away his sword, his expression still composed and unhurried, as if nothing had happened.

“Let’s go,” he said softly, turning and walking away.

Behind him, the crowd watched his retreating figure, their hearts filled with shock and fear. They finally understood that this young man was not someone they could provoke.

Ye Fan walked alone through the wilderness, his mind calm. He knew that this was just the beginning. On the path of cultivation, there would be countless more challenges and enemies waiting for him. But he was not afraid, because he had the confidence and strength to face them all.

“The road ahead is long, but I will walk it step by step,” he murmured to himself, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
