Chapter 905: Sorry, I'm a Cop!
As the story continued to unfold, the players realized that Chen Mo's promotional video really hadn't lied to them!
Although the various fake titles were clearly trying to ride on trending topics, surprisingly, those scenes were all actual in-game footage!
In the prison, the two cosplayed a bit of prison drama; during the escape, they found a beat-up pickup truck on a farm and cosplayed some top-tier trucking; afterward, there was robbing a gas station, various mini-games... All the content Chen Mo had advertised in the promo video was actually in the game!
And the funniest part was that throughout their journey, the two could find tons of interactive elements and amusing little toys in every scene.
For example, before stealing the truck on the farm, they'd wander around the farmhouse, sneak cookies, grill meat on the stove, light the fireplace, try on hats, lie on the bed, graffiti the paintings, build card houses, play music boxes, toss horseshoes...
Plus, there was a piano and a banjo in the house. Old P and Qin An each played one, and it actually triggered a hidden cutscene. Vincent played the piano, Leo played the banjo, showing off a duet. The two wildly praised each other, filling the air with a super gay vibe.
Almost every scene had tons of interactive mini-games, and Old P and Qin An were fiercely competing with each other, having a blast.
But these two were really strong. During the pickup truck chase scene, Qin An drove while Old P sat in the back shooting at police cars. They didn't get stuck at all and cleared it on the first try. Qin An's driving skills were obviously top-notch, and Old P's aim was spot-on. Dealing with these cops was a piece of cake.
The bullet comments flooded in: "Oh no! Bullying! Two sharpshooters picking on the computer!"
...
The two fled further and further, finally shaking off the police pursuit. At this point, their family backgrounds and their grudges with Harvey began to surface.
Before seeking revenge on Harvey, Leo and Vincent went to Leo's house, met his wife and kids, and even played basketball with the little boy; they tracked down Harvey's henchman at a construction site, tortured him for Harvey's whereabouts; robbed a gas station for money to buy guns; bought weapons and took out the cartel hitmen Harvey sent; visited the hospital to see Vincent's wife and his newborn daughter...
As the story developed to this point, it started showing a warmer side.
Although Leo had been in prison, his wife never abandoned him. Leo's son Alex had grown distant from him, but with Vincent's help, father and son finally reconciled. Vincent's wife, on the other hand, was very cold toward him. His imprisonment had pushed their relationship to the brink, but clearly, she still had feelings for him.
The two men's experiences formed a stark contrast. They had different pasts, different backgrounds, different lives. Vincent, who was well-educated, and Leo, who had always been a criminal, should never have crossed paths. But the shared experience of escaping prison forged a special bond between them.
They helped each other through tough times, saved each other's lives multiple times, met each other's families, and played so many mini-games together...
Their personalities differed, their education levels differed, and their life experiences were worlds apart—but none of that affected the friendship they built during their escape.
At the end of the story, the two took a plane to the island where Harvey was hiding, took out a ton of mercenaries, finally succeeded in killing Harvey, shook off the pursuers, and boarded a plane to leave.
This final gunfight scene had the bullet comment audience watching with blood boiling!
Both Old P and Qin An had aim that was god-tier. Taking out these small fries was a total slaughter, and their teamwork was flawless. Every bullet hit a headshot with pinpoint precision. The mercenaries on the entire island were completely helpless against these two.
"Wow, these two gods are bullying people!"
"Yeah, these two are way too strong 2333. I feel like either one of them alone could clear this place out, let alone both of them together!"
"Geez, that teamwork is 666. Truly worthy of being best buds!"
"Damn, I'm shipping Vincent and Leo as a couple for sure!"
"Three seconds of pity for Harvey!"
"Yeah, these two are so cute. Dumb and grumpy, full of couple vibes!"
Finally, the two successfully killed Harvey, escaped the mercenaries on a motorcycle, and caught the plane to freedom.
On the plane, both were panting, still shaken.
Leo, who was always tsundere, finally opened up after this life-and-death adventure and thanked Vincent.
Vincent accepted Leo's advice, saying he would write a letter to his wife, hoping she would give him a chance to start over.
In the bullet comments, the players, after experiencing the intense and thrilling story, also let out a long sigh of relief.
"Exciting! This game is amazing. It's like a popcorn movie—non-stop action with no dull moments!"
"I'm starting to like this couple. Leo is so cute, that stubborn tsundere!"
"I prefer Vincent a bit more. Like Boss Qin, a man of few words but lots of action!"
"Ending with confetti! Thanks to Boss Qin and Old P for bringing us such an awesome show. Boss Qin, have you ever considered becoming a single-player game streamer? I feel like with all that smooth talk, the entire Moyu platform can't hold you back 2333"
"Ending with confetti! Happy ending, so satisfying!"
But just as the story clearly seemed to be wrapping up, in an atmosphere of "this is the ending," the plot kept going.
The plane landed on the runway. Leo opened his sleepy eyes and pulled open the cabin door.
But at that moment, countless blinding lights flashed on. All around were the sounds of guns being loaded, police car brakes screeching, and sirens wailing!
Leo raised his hands in utter confusion. Even if he wanted to escape, it was impossible. Surrounding them were fully armed cops; they were completely encircled.
The police chief walked up to Leo and retrieved the jewelry from him.
Then, the chief walked over to Vincent and handed him a pistol.
"Good work, Vincent."
Old P was stunned: "Hey? Hey? Hey? What the hell is this? Damn it, Qin, you're the traitor!"
The bullet comments were also shocked. What kind of insane twist was this?
What did it mean?
Vincent was a cop?
"What the hell?!"
"So it turns out you, with those big honest eyes, are the traitor!"
"I... What kind of plot twist is this?! This is way too real, right?"
"Damn, there were actually hints early on. Remember when Vincent disassembled the gun? How could an ordinary person pull off that move? And where did a lawyer get a plane?"
"Geez, this is a masterpiece. This plot is making me dizzy!"
"Spy within a spy within a spy???"
Old P was speechless: "This is... Leo is completely dumbfounded. Was I the only one fooled from start to finish?"
Qin An was silent for a long time, then, fully in character, said: "Sorry, I'm a cop."
