Chapter 290: New Game Experience
This year's Spring Festival falls on February 16th, and now that it's already February, the pre-holiday atmosphere is everywhere. Most office workers are looking forward to the Spring Festival holiday, company year-end parties, and year-end bonuses. As for work... what's that? Can you eat it?
With only about two weeks left until the Spring Festival holiday, most people have already lost their motivation to work.
There haven't been any good games launching during this period, so players have been in a relatively quiet phase.
After all, at this time of year, game companies are busy holding year-end parties and writing annual work summaries. Who would push out new games during the New Year?
Back in the day, at the shop, we'd watch anime together, one episode a week. It was so much fun.
Jia Peng returned, handing a cup of hot milk tea to Wen Lingwei.
Wen Lingwei reached out and took it. "Thanks."
Just as they were chatting, Qian Kun walked in from outside.
"Huh? Jia Peng? What are you guys doing here?" Qian Kun was also very surprised.
Jia Peng said half-jokingly, "What, we're not allowed to come?"
"You can, of course you can. Welcome." Qian Kun walked over and punched Jia Peng lightly on the shoulder.
Jia Peng asked, "Why did you come in from outside?"
Qian Kun said, "I went out for lunch. Hang on, I'll go get the store manager."
Jia Peng quickly stopped him. "No need, don't bother the store manager. We're just here to hang out for a bit."
Qian Kun shook his head. "It's fine, no trouble. The store manager isn't working today anyway. Oh, and you guys came at just the right time—there's a new game to play today."
Hearing about a new game, everyone's eyes lit up.
"Really? A new game? What genre?" Wen Lingwei asked.
Qian Kun smiled. "You'll find out soon enough. Wait a moment, I'll go upstairs."
Not long after Qian Kun went upstairs, Chen Mo came down.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, everyone urged Chen Mo to bring out the new game for them to play.
"Hey, you guys. All you care about is the new game; you don't care about me at all." Chen Mo looked a bit helpless.
Chen Mo said a few words to the front desk girl.
The front desk girl nodded, and soon her voice spread throughout the entire experience store via the broadcast system.
"Attention, all players. The new PC game *League of Legends*, developed by Thunder Interactive Entertainment, is now available for early access. You can play it in the PC experience area on the first floor. After restarting your computer, the game will update automatically."
This announcement was broadcast three times. The players in the experience store all heard it clearly, and discussions broke out in both the PC and mobile game experience areas.
"Huh? A new game?"
"A new game so soon? It hasn't been that long since *Ashe* and *The Stanley Parable* launched."
"Yeah, I thought there wouldn't be any new games before the New Year."
"Hurry, let's see what this new game is!"
As soon as they heard about a new game, everyone got very excited. The regulars at the experience store were all die-hard fans of Chen Mo, and since there weren't any new games around this time, they were all eager to get an early taste.
Players in the PC area restarted their computers one after another to update *League of Legends*. Many players from the lobby, mobile game area, and VR experience area also came over to the PC area.
"Come on, let's go check it out too."
Jia Peng, Wen Lingwei, and Chang Xiuya also headed to the PC experience area.
They found three computers in a row in a corner and sat down one by one.
Jia Peng couldn't help but sigh. "The store manager's experience store is getting more and more popular. This huge PC area is almost full. Thinking back to the old store, there were only 18 computers total."
Wen Lingwei added, "And the first time I went, there wasn't a single person in the store."
Chen Mo chuckled. "You sure remember that clearly."
Wen Lingwei said smugly, "Of course. I was the very first customer of the Thunder Game Experience Store. Keep it up, store manager. Once your company becomes an industry giant, I'll be able to brag about this for a long time."
Jia Peng looked around. "No seats left. Where are you sitting, store manager?"
Chen Mo said, "I'm not playing. You guys go ahead. I'll just wander around a bit."
"Alright, sounds good."
Jia Peng turned on the computer, and *League of Legends* began updating automatically.
